The indigenous people of South America were not accustomed to alcohol in that form, so when the Europeans brought it, it triggered an BIG alcoholic epidemic. That led to the downfall of the culture.

What you took was likely kratom in pill form. I say this because I had a similar experience just about the same amount of time ago as your experience. I was driving home to Upstate NY from Atlanta and instead of continuing to drive through the night to get home, my boss who was driving the other truck decided we were going to stop for the night. I was fine until about 2 pm the next day when I started getting restless and every minute felt like an hour. We stopped at a gas station and I remembered that I had purchased a bottle of capsules filled with kratom somewhere in Georgia (we were now almost through Tennessee) I poured as many of the capsules into my mouth as I could fit in there about 4 or 5 times and washed them down with mountain dew. Within about a half an hour I went from being on the edge of full blown withdrawal to feeling fantastic and made it all the way back to NY feeling just fine. I don't know what I would have done had I not purchased that kratom back in Georgia.

@user-ns7mz1ld9u it's not the kratom that's the problem it's you taking "pounds and pound of it" and buying from cheap vendors, people need to be smart consumers who have self control instead of blaming the plants.

@@ItsOKtobeNormal Are you serious? You have no idea what this stuff can do. All I can say is good luck, its only a matter of time before it takes control. I didnt take pounds of it, and I bought from reputable sources. I started because I was in pain and my Dr decided to cut me off the actual opiate medicine that was helping me live a normal life. I was fine with it until I decided I wanted to stop.

@@Warcraze13the fact that you already had opioids prescribed for you makes your story a bit irregular. I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience, but if you avoid regular use it helps more than it hurts. It helps me a lot when I wake up demotivated or when I have horrible pain from 12h+ shifts. I use it max 2 times a week and max 2 doses a day. Every once in a while I take 2-3 week long breaks to check if I have any withdrawal or signs of addiction and Ive never had any complications this way. I think this is the only way to use kratom "responsibly"

I dont take fake drugs, I only did perspiration opiates. I got off opioid pills by hiking in the woods in August heat, with a gallon of water for 4 days in a row. The second day was the worst. On the 5th day, I got away from the area I lived in and went to Florida for 6 weeks away from people and drugs. I was physically off the drugs, and I was still fighting the addiction, I was good when I got back to Connecticut , no more opiates for me. I dont want to go through this ever again.

I’m already fighting this addiction I don’t need another. Going for my back surgery in two weeks so I’m hopefully going to try and ween off the percs. I know or hope but am hopeful because I kicked OxyContin and I was right in the middle when it first came out and they were handing them out like candy. I am lucky to be alive because OxyContin is whole other animal as I’m sure you know. I OD on them but I’m here. Just hope I can heal and kick before it gets out of control. Idle time is the worst

Its actually unfortunate that tianeptine was discontinued in the US. For those who have treatment resistant depression and are not looking to abuse the drug sometimes an atypical tca like this can do wonders. Personally I take clomipramine for my resistant depression. It worked wonders, but it doesn't modulate the dopamine receptors whereas tianeptine does. Thoughts? Just curious. Do these withdrawal symptoms also occur at low doses? Thanks super curious to hear some responses.
