My mom used to volunteer for these a lot. She was not only a regular for the Marion county police volunteer work but they also struggled getting her actually drunk 😂

Tyler was probably the perfect person to volunteer for this. An experienced drinker who not only knows the types of tests they do, but can apparently act sober even when extremely shitfaced. He’s probably the only drunk one that gave an actual challenge

As a retired cop and as someone who has volunteered to do this as well….its so damn funny because its so damn accurate!!!! There’s always one who goes wild, and there’s always a couple professional drinkers too, and the wild one is always a cadet’s girlfriend or boyfriend.
Overall not big of a surprise.
You got (and kind of want) the alcoholics, who are doing it for free alcohol, while the girl- or boyfriend is just doing it for their partner with less alcohol tolerance.

I've done that. My brother was a senior officer & recruited me. The officer who recruited you has to pick you up & bring you home. We didn't have any sober participants. The local liquor distributors actually donated some top-shelf stuff!

The local Sheriff’s Department has been doing this for years. Only you get picked by a random blind drawing who is the control group and who is intoxicated group. They serve beer Or liquor and you can only be tested by breathalyzer to up to a .15 BAC. The sobriety tests are physical and mental. Recite the alphabet backwards starting at R. Or my favorite count backwards from 86. Walk a line balance your self with one foot in the air for 30 seconds. If by some miracle you get passed by the deputy trainee, you win a $50 gift card and a matching donation to the charity of your choice. Almost nobody beats the sobriety test.

Fun fact. U can pass a sobriety test AND breathalyzer test and still be given a DUI, if u admit to drinking before operating. Reason being because there are hundreds of thousands of people who can get WASTED at the legal limit. Soo the guy’s girlfriend probably was just a lightweight and got hammered after just one rum and coke

Have something like this with my local department, bonus though: we not only get blotto 7 ways from Sunday for free, during the intake for participants they find out what we drink and get fed after, but we get paid $100 for each day we do it.

Me and my gf volunteered for this once and got some homemade moonshine. Needless to say we had the worst hangover the next day. I had the bathtub while my gf was all in the toilet. It wasn't a good day. We were both taking turns holding back each other's hair. What I do remember was giving the Lyft driver a good tip because I just reached into my wallet pulled out the money and said "have a good day". The next day when my gf asked where the money was I said"we aren't doing that again" and that was the end of the conversation.
