This comment hit me hard. I was depressed and burnt out for a year and one day I randomly discovered Brewstew. It was the first time I started laughing in like 6 months. I wasn't watching any shows or movies. I told my ex and begged her to watch it so many times. When I watched this show today it reminded me of how happy it made me feel when I discovered it and it made me think I wish I get a girlfriend who actually finds this funny. So happy for you and your husband!

My woodwork teacher apparently went after a kid with a hammer and had to be sectioned.
The geography teacher regularly slammed kids in to the wall. As far as I know it was accepted as deserved and no parents were told.
I remember a very southern fat bus driver had just about enough of us. She pulled over and slowly waddled to the back of the bus. Every kid back there thought they were going to be beaten. Then a drunk driver rear ended the bus and we didnt get to go home for like 45min after transferring us all to a fresh bus.

@Alexandra-bp6cuI mean... If you're dancing on your desk and fall off or something, I really can't see how that would be anyone's fault but your own. Even if the teacher did something like encourage it, you still decide whether or not you dance on top of your desk.
The only time I can see a teacher being responsible for a student getting hurt is if they smack the kid or leave them unsupervised with dangerous equipment, which would only apply to young children.

There was a kid in my class on eight grade who disassembled pencil sharpeners, took the blade and started swinging it around people on recess. That kid was a mess. The teacher pleaded the rest of the class multiple times to not give him attention when he acts up. Unfortunately the rest of the class included multiple bastards so they wouldn't help the teacher in any way. It was an awful time pretty much for everyone.
Ironically when we went to school, we got in fights and they turned out better... Who woulda guessed a little discipline worked? Even if your parents didn't, your peers did it. And no not bullying... That's it's own issue... but sometimes the class clown had to learn.

From the stories I hear from teachers and students these days, kids like Colby no longer get sent to the principal's office and suspended. The teacher is now required to keep them in class and teach around them...somehow.

Had a fat kid in my class do this the last day. The teacher also didnt notice. Had art class with him in like 9th grade. I taught him how to operate the blinds in the window...a decade later he shows up at the bakery I worked at. He wanted to buy a cake but only half. I sawed a frozen cake in half and sold it to him. There is now a no half cake policy lol...
Man the late 90s and early 2000s school environment must've been amazing before widespread ADD medication usage existed. Hence this gem of a video.
Holy shit it was. The u diagnosed ADD came in 3 common flavors: "contained by parental corporal punishment", "well meaning but tooooooo active", and no self control because no parental guidance like Colby.
Classrooms are still the same even with 1/3 of the kids on medications…..
Lot of us just got ass whoopins ... I didn't even know what ADD was until I was diagnosed with it at 18 years old I was sent to a military school and they made all of us test for certain things and I found out I had ADD ... I didn't use medication because at that point there was no real point
as someone who grew up in it and then worked in a school, It's about equally bad but teachers have less power than before.
Remember back in the late 80s 90s even the early 00s. Special Ed class? in my grammar school they were on the 3rd floor. Everyone knew if you were on the 3rd floor you were damaged goods. They weren't like kids with autism or down syndrome or anything of that. They were simply the kids that had a few loose screws,ADD ADHD and just plain bad. I remember one field trip we went to go see a Disney play on ice and the special ed kids kept throwing snap pops and launching paper clips with rubber bands at the actors and my whole school got thrown out the theater and we didn't get another field trip untill highschool

I was a troublemaker from kindergarten up until about third or fourth grade, but my perspective shifted drastically when I went through something (rhymes with "main answer") between my fourth and fifth grade years. I soon transformed into a studious student who would make an effort to treat everyone with respect.
Same for me, I was really really hyper and crazy as a kid and then by the time I became an adult I just became super adventurous, but also very calm
