The swim in Queen Elizabeth's bath had me in tears laughing and the yoga in the garden. I love when you and Luke are together. And last the wildlife programs narrated by your son definitely should have many more. You should be so proud of him
You and your husband exploring something together and the playful banter between you is especially fun. I have to say you both have beautiful but different personalities that mesh extraordinarily well together. What a lovely couple you make. I really appreciate and enjoy all the energy and enthusiasm in every episode, even though these productions involve a lot of research and hard work . Your joyful spontaneity, your honesty and total lack of pretentiousness is refreshing and makes you and your husband so lovable and relateably 'real', Julie. Every single episode is thoroughly delightful and leaves me enlightened (and selfishly wanting more!) and wanting more detail. ❤ Thank you and wishing you and your family a healthy, happy and successful New Year.
My jaw dropped when you walked into the “chained library”, so that might be my fav episode. But truly, all the episodes were wonderful and so well done. I CAN’T wait for what’s to come in 2022. Happy New Year!
I loved the clock towed and seeing the mechanics and hearing the bells chime. Thanks for all you do preserving England’s heritage. Also nice little trip down memory lane makes me feel like I’m home again for a Brit living in America.
Julie your enthusiasm is contagious. Love your can do attitude. Seeing you experience things that I will not get to do is wonderful. Living vicariously through your adventures is fun. You and your crew are doing a fantastic job . Thank you! 💕
I love the reverence and respect you show to everyone. You make each experience so memorable! I really love your instructional videos when you teach how to make lettuce soup and rosehip syrup. You are such a delight! 🥰
Julie, you bring a real and empathetic energy that is instantly relatable. I love anything about your cold water immersion or anything with Luke. Keep being you, that’s what’s special about your channel.
My favorite manor house visit was Pentillie Castle. The family seems fun. I laughed when Sammie greeted you with the leaf blower! The swim in the river made me shiver, as did the story at the mausoleum! As much as I enjoy seeing other manor houses, I am equally fascinated with Mapperton. The collection of Alberta’s letters and diaries is extraordinary! As an amateur historian, I’m drooling! I have a single letter from my great-grandfather’s sister, and treasure it. What a blessing to have a huge archive! Thank you for creating and posting these videos. One hundred thousand people (and I) think they’re wonderful!
As an expat living in Malaysia, I love watching these to get my home ‘fix’. Especially during this time when returning home is practically impossible in person.
I am an American in Texas and I just found your channel. Love every video, Julie! I am guessing that the monetization of your RUclips channel here helps with your efforts to keep the manor running. May I make suggestions to further bring money to your efforts? You should have vendor support for your RUclips channel where there are advertisers who make a blurb at the end and wouldn't it be great GET to have travel agencies who will bring over Americans to your property. Also, I wish you would have a "shop" where we Americans can buy products from the manor (t-shirts, photo cards, British teas you like, etc.). Also, why not a book from all your video visits to the other houses? This will promote the subscribers for your YT channel. Julie, you are our Alistar Cooke historian and you can magnify your life and adventures for us here in America. I wish you all the success. Love your channel!
Absolutely loving your channels! It’s such a joy to see and hear the history of yours and these visited exquisite historical estates. Thank you for your work it is so important to educate about these historical homes and the colorful stories inside them, you really respectfully bring the memories alive again of the owners and families. You are a joy! ❤️ You your crew and family are wonderful. Wishing all a fruitful healthy 2022. Looking forward to traveling with you through RUclips in the months to come!
The swim in Queen Elizabeth's bath was my favorite scene! It was so funny! I think the possible snake in the garden pool is a close second. I know I would have had similar reactions! Looking forward to more in 2022!
Thanks to you and your family and your lovely crew, Julie. It’s a pleasure to see your work and hear the stories and histories of other folk in other parlous times. Keep on, all respect.
2021 was the year I discovered and felt in love with this Channel. Thanks for doing all this videos, I really enjoy all of your content and the atmosphere you create with this Channel and looking forward two videos per week💙
I have to say my favorite episode of American Vicountess was the Christmas episode at Highclere Castle. I also loved watching you make wreaths and swags at Mapperton. Happy New Year 💖
Having worked in libraries and been a book seller also, my favorite was the chained library. I only ever heard of such a thing when I bought a comprehensive photo archive of an early German castle with a chained library among the photos. I wondered how that worked and now, thanks to your video have had a closeup introduction to this extraordinary method of securing books. Secondly the snake episode as I am horrified when it comes to them and quite afraid also. I think I would have sprouted wings and been airborne if I had been in that water where you were! Thirdly Dean's Court as I love history, gardens and am quite fond of Georgian houses. That said every episode has been interesting.
Congrats! I see you hit the 100K. I love all historic home tours and meeting the owners as well as listening to their stories. All such lovely and kind people.
Being an American of ancient English/Scots ancestry, I love all the different things you do on your channel. My health is not good, so I really enjoy seeing all the homes, gardens, and other interesting things you go and do. Your journeys open a window I will probably see myself. Thank you and family and crew for all you do and share. ❤
How do you pick a favorite? I love them all! Each one is well done, contains delightful history info, humor, family, traditions, your vintage clothing, Alberta, the beauty of the UK, and so much more. I feel blessed to have access to these wonderful videos that I can watch anytime and rewatch, too. A million thanks for giving us all such a beautiful gift, and hooray for technology that brings us all closer together. God bless you and your family. Best wishes from Tennessee.💕
We love watching your programs!! As a child I knew Lady Mary Montague when she lived in Edmonton back in th '50s & early '60s. She was a friend of my parents.
On the west side of the Cascade Mountains rain, fog and overcast are the norm for most of the year. Because of the abundance of rain, the area is lush and green. Those rare sunny days are worth waiting for.
Thank you for such a wonderful footage ! My favourite scenes were definitely the enchanting gardens of Iford gardens and number one scene in the Pentillie castle swimming scene ! I could literally feel the calmness ! Happy New Year and I wish more wonderful scenes in these historical places which I wont be able to visit probably ever!
Hooray on 100K! My favorite scene was you learning to fish in that creek with those 2 gentlemen! I laughed so hard! I'm going to dig out our family geneology to confirm, but I do believe I am related to Alberta Sturgis. There is a William Sturgis in our geneology! I was born in upstate NY
The chained library...what a a smart idea for that time period! Interestingly, my favorite scenes were you in water...early morning swim, cleaning the pond and fly fishing.
Everything you share is amazing. The way you go about it and make it all about the history and the amazing people who maintained these beautiful places. See you soon from Bloomingdale GA
My favorite is the chained library. I never thought that there is such a thing! After the explanation, it just made so much sense. And I love💕 antique books. I also was so entertained by the podcast on making booze Christmas presents with Luke for friends. The part where he was taking his sweet time twisting the cover of the bottle while he was talking. Meanwhile you’re making him carry on and not forget to twist the bottle cover securely. So many fun episodes. Thank you for the respite from the endless Covid count updates on TV.
Loving all the variety on your channel, something for everyone. I know you and the team already busy, so I can only imagine the amount of time and effort needed to get all these videos out 👏🙏
So many beautiful episodes of amazing history! I really enjoyed the chained library also! Stunning Wimborne!I also love your recipe episodes and doing crafts or various things around your home! Lovely, lovely! Thank you for sharing!
@@AmericanViscountess You're welcome! Looking forward to seeing what AV and Mapperton has new!!!! It will be a great year!!!! Thank your crew for their hard work, also! Hugs!
They're all great and interesting! The one from a day or two ago where you talk about the top five habits to change one's life (for the better) in 2022 was soooo helpful. I typed it up and printed it out... words to live by. I re-read them this morning while doing yoga. Happy New Year!
Oh Julie, I cannot choose one video over another, as they are all absolutely wonderful. Beautifully made. The constant shifting weather is another reason to love England/Great Britain. I lived in Norway for years, and that is something they share: unpredictable North Sea weather; which brings some very strong storms. I love those very stormy, rainy days. Happy New Year to you and yours. Cannot wait to see what is in store for us in 2022, from our lovely Mapperton Viscountess💞✨🎉🎊
I enjoy the historical homes you visit and find all of your vlogs are interesting. I’m from Texas and Great Britain is my favorite place to visit.. Hearing you compare England to the U.S. is spot on! It must have been quite a transition when you moved ‘across the pond’. Wishing you and yours a prosperous, happy and healthy New Year!
What a year it has been with you and your team. Thank you for letting us in your manor. It has been interesting, fun, lots learned as well as roused my curiosity to learn more of history, and, cooking too! Wishing an even better year for 2022!! xx
