  • I really enjoy working with weapons in games. I mean, I did a whole mod in Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter making and rigging my own weapons before I even considered working in games. For DOOM, I was lucky enough to do most of the first person weapon animation and rigged nearly every single gun including the multiplayer only weapons. The first person arms and weapons are really the characters of first person shooter since they are seen all the time. Though we didn't have reloads in DOOM, we did want to have dynamic mod switching and I suggested we only do the tail end of the swap so that it wouldn't slow down gameplay. Those, along with the weapon inspection/intro animations I started in RAGE, were some of the more fun animaitons to do. I've included some of the more interesting behaviors here as well, though complete animation sets have lots of extra support animations such as jumps, lands, empty idles, etc.
