The problem is that most people have an ideal type and perception of universal beauty. White people just have more of these universal traits. Combined with this is the fact that they dominate entertainment worldwide. It's sort of no surprise the asian girl would want to date white men because of these things.
What would an average American Asian guy look like?
The average white guys and even above average looking white men are getting overlooked also. Sure, some Asian and white women in Western countries will automatically dismiss Asian men, even the good looking Asian men. This is more a societal problem than a racial one. It is gynocentrism and hypergamy causing the problem. Hence the enormous growth of MGTOW. Women are just not worth wasting the time, money, and energy in 2019.

He was adopted by a white family, so it's only natural for him to want date a white woman. What is wrong with him wanting to date outside of his race? As a human being told your not good enough because of your race is hurtful. It's not racist of these women to not be attracted to him but it's still a shot to the gut. He's attracted to what hes attracted to, even if they aren't attracted to him. The truth is, online dating doesn't work for Asian men. If Asian men want to date a white woman, they have to see your personality.

I'm a decent looking asian guy myself, sorry for lack of modesty, but I've heard that 'good looking for an asian guy' one too many times myself. The western media has put asian men in such a low place for so long.

As a black woman raised by white people, I resonate with this guy SO much. I understand the self-loathing and wishing I was white and experiencing people who explicitly don't date black women. Amazing Video. I "was" also a fellow muscular Asian guy who grew up in American wishing to be WHITE. It takes me years to realized I don't want to be WHITE; what I really want is being treated with BASIC EQUAL RESPECT & DIGNITY as a human being. When I live in Asia for 6 months, I was blown away by experience of being treated as an actual human being (rather than a 2nd class citizen). A lot of Asian women have told me and my own sisters that people see them more as pets than people in dating. Being an Asian woman also doesn’t mean you have friends, voice and love. This asian guy is 6', fit, and a successful male model, and he still struggles with dating. I'm 5'7", out of shape, socially awkward, underachieving asian male. I got all the negative stereotypes but none of the good stereotypes. I don't stand a chance.
5'7" is not a bad height to be. If you're a man between 5'5" and 5'9" you just need to put on more muscle. Besides, I'd rather be 5'7" and buff, than be tall and sloppy looking.

Bro I can kinda relate to Kevin. I am 6ft4, half Thai/english and dating ain't as easy as you would think for me. But when I go out I do sooooo much better. I did notice that when I started hitting the gym I increased my sexual appeal massively. I get compliments here and there from girls and even guys but its difficult to let go of the asian stereotype of lacking sex appeal out of my head.
Dude I'm 5'5'', slightly muscular but fat cause I workout, and a Chinese (Not really fluent in English) and I still get dates. I dated white, half, and asian. Dating and Picking up women is an art, a tall and good body shape might help you get girls easily but a good strategy will help you for the long run. First you have to interact with a lot of women despite their ages, colors, etc, then when u r used to it try asking out women for dates. You'll slowly develop the sense to know which women like you and which don't, and you'll start dating those who like you. I recommend reading "How to Be a 3% Man" by Corey Wayne

This resonates with me as an Asian man as I experienced similar issues while online dating. While I support his point that dating in person is better, I think it is unfortunate that there is extra effort needing to be applied to break down the wall of the stereotypes. I hope we get to a point where we don't need to continue proving our value by justifying our race. Who we are, for the most part, should be enough.

I can really relate to the frustration of not feeling accepted due to your race/cultural background. I have vivid memories of moving to American as a young child from Brazil and hit with cultural shock. In my own family we have such a variance of color (from blond/white skin to the deepest darkest black) that I never thought about 'looking different'. That thought radically changed when for the first time I was the only person of color in my classroom. During my early years from junior to senior high I always held myself back for fear of what others would think if I stepped out of the box. So I maintained neutrality and really never voiced my opinion. Being safe and unseen was my goal. It's sad to think I wasted all that time tempering my real self in order to get along with others. I can really relate to that feeling of not being good enough as Kevin stated in his interview. Even my early years of college I held myself back from showing my true colors. I also was hit with the 'you are pretty for a black girl'.. even then ppl placed me in their assumed box and never bothered to ask me where I was from/my nationality. It took many years of positive self talk to elevate my feeling of self worth. This is a great video with insight on how ppl just don't get that their their viewpoint and words really impact others. I'm really proud of who I have become but it was a long journey. Sounds like Kevin also found his way. Awesome vid! Than you for sharing and I hope younger folks see this and realize their self-worth is well within themselves.

I had a very similar up bringing and got the same compliment in college. I can relate to this so deeply.
I once was with a latina friend of mine in college as she was scrolling on tinder, She saw this attractive white man's profile and what she said was " he's cute but he's not white white white" and swiped left. My jaw was on the floor, so there is even different levels of whiteness that she was looking for. Worst part is she saw no issue with what she was saying. Alot of asian and latino women are like this, they put white features on such a pedastal because most have been brought up to believe dating white is dating up. The more white in their eyes, the more dateable a guy is.This same woman, if asked in a public setting, will say "I am open to dating all races" in attempt to save face. Meanwhile all her past boyfriends have only been white.

I had low self-esteem issues too, I was either too overweight, clumsy, too dark not white enough, and didn't fit the box. But I got tired of it and found it much better to accept who I am in my own body. It is great to see him reaffirm who he is. All those online dating sites are just superficial fantasies. You'll be surprised what you find out there in the real world where people will find you attractive once you realise you are attractive yourself. This video was so, so, so good. I could relate on this on so many levels. I wasn't conscious of race when I was a child. It's only when I got older, and especially when I became interested in dating and relationships did I then see how the world judges us. There was a girl I really liked who was east asian. I am indian. I didn't even think it would be an issue until my friends told me that race was a very big issue and me being indian was inferior. I then started noticing how many east asian women date white men. I then started feeling really bad about myself and it really deeply took a toll on my self esteem and confidence. I love how this man says that you have to embrace who you are and not try to be anyone else. That really hit home for me. I also love how he states that he wanted to be white, not because he didn't want to be asian, but because he didn't want to have to endure the prejudice non-white people have to suffer. Actually being white isn’t even really about your appearance. I have blonde hair, pale skin, and green eyes, and I get mistaken all the time for a Russian, but I don’t consider my self white since I’m North African, add that I have an international name.
I met so many racist people that would be super sweet and nice to me, but then do a 180 degree when I tell them I am North African and not European like they thought I was. They see every other features as inferior to their features. There's a strong positive correlation between people that discriminate based on race and those that strongly emphasize physical traits in mate selection. I've observed the pattern that not only are the vast majority of white Americans shown to harbour the most implicit racial bias of all other groups, they are also the most discriminatory based on looks, especially women. If it weren't the case, South Asians should have the highest success in dating because they are the most hard-working, hospitable, responsible, least violent, productive members of society. You hardly find any homeless desi, with substance issues, or a theft in developed countries. They are also the most extroverted, vibrant group ( which is evident if you have seen Bollywood movies). So personality and integrity wise, they are more than enough for being ideal partners, yet they are the least desired. Their case directly debunks the myth that women care more about personality than looks.

A good 85% of the women's profiles did not list Black men as person of interest. A good 35% specifically said NO BLACK MEN PLEASE. This was even the Black women's profiles. Talk about feeling unwanted.

Yep. I feel you brother. I am Native American. And not the white kind that claims to be native but just looks white. I clearly look Native American and all my life I’ve had so much fucking discrimination and hurtful stereotypes/jokes against me. It does take a toll on you for sure.
