Hard to not root for Rickie Fowler and this video makes it harder. Such a good disposition. Interesting to learn he switched to the regular TP5. I found the TP5x pix to be tough to control for my amateur swing. Can't wait to see all these pros again in Cromwell!
This is absolute Gold! I have been beating balls lately, really trying to improve my swing in a couple ways, and to see Ricky have similar struggles to the average golfer is just… I don’t know what to say. I look for the videos where pro golfers make mistakes. It sounds crazy, but it’s the most helpful. “It’s not how good you hit it, it’s how bad are the misses”
at this point i believe a peak level coach like butch harmon can have more of a mental function - a role of a mentor. of course he has the top-tier knowledge about golf swings and because of that he will be able to get into a deep and profound conversation about your swing but what he seems to be doing most is to reaffirm rickie with what he knows he can do. so much subtle guiding towards a certain success-promising midset - masterclass!
I hope Rickey again works his way back into major successes and popularity with both people into golf and the general public. The game of golf really needs admirable ambassadors and especially roll models for kids like Tiger Woods was when he was a young man
The recent Rickie doesn't need to change anything. He already made a big swing change and it got him a win. No reason to change anything now. This is all just mindset stuff they were talking about.
Something people need to learn is that spinnier balls means spinnier in all directions, so it makes the ball more workable and less controlled in a sense. Most would be better with lower spinning ball with higher spinning clubs to impart backspin specifically on the ball. Fowler obviously likes working the ball and can control it, but the left dash prov1xs the best ball for most. Also a double cross is like a hook when you’re trying to fade it, not a hook when you’re trying to draw it.
@@cutoverpark9596 Different ways of feeling it. I like Rickie's description - controlled 100% and you feel like you give it 110% if you have to. Look at Rory or Rahm. Their swings are pure controlled aggression with very little left to give. Rory is hitting 185-190mph ball speed every time. It's not like he can get it to 200+ at will and keep it in play, The most I ever see these guys max ball speed go up is a couple mph. That tells me they are swinging pretty much 100% every time.
Rickie seems to have lost his fire for some reason. He's always been under control, but he seems disinterested these days. Maybe too much success in early life? Now he's getting a bit soft? There is no player on tour that I'd rather see become a contender again than Rickie. What Rickie needs is some of Tiger's "take no prisoners" attitude.
didn't have the feeling that I was watching a lesson, Butch didn't correct anything at all with Rickie but did like a lot of the things Rickie was doing .....
Did Rickie turn down a big LIV Golf deal? If so, what is the reasonable rationale for doing that? Perhaps he just doesn't want to travel outside of the USA, who knows?
Butch really demonstrates how elite players must be handled very carefully. The last thing they need is an egotistical arrogant character that will end up doing damage.
Lmao yeah because your local pro who only played some college golf and was never even close to being good enough to making any tour, let alone the PGA tour, is a way better option than Rickie
Butch never says anything "corrective" everything is so positive....is just cause cameras are there or do top guys need to be coddled to maintain confidence? When Rickie sprays one Butch is quick to blame the wind lol
So lame. It wasn't even a lesson. It was just Butch watching Rickie just swing, and then asking Butch asking Rickie to give him his speed LMAO Where was the lesson LMAO
this was the fastest 18:44 minutes of my life. pleasure to watch.
Can’t get enough of Butch he’s a legend
And it doesn’t get much better with Rick as his model student
I could watch these two for hours. Ricky, it’s great to see you back and having fun. Great video.

I wonder why Tiger didn't stick with him? He molded Tiger's game, which helped him become one of the best to ever play the game
@@vincentkingsdale8334 tiger always wanted to tinker and he sought out someone else that would retool his swing (again).
Just watching Rickie doing this on video shows he is control his distance. Thanks again 😊
The consistency is ridiculous. I love just nerding out on golf chat.

This video makes it harder for me too😉
ha. to clarify, he has always had a younger following and alot of commercial exposure , but he's an easy person to root for
Fantastic cha cha cha between these two!
Relaxedly, Rickie maintained consistency with each hammer blow. Wow!!
Congratulations
Reminds me of my range session…When they walked out, AND THAT’S IT! 😂 Love both these guys. 🙏 🇺🇸 ⛳️

Content gold, awesome they agreed to film this
So many golden gems here, u just need to read between the lines...great stuff.
Rick is not what you might expect, no drama or cockyness. Big fan
two golfers I could watch forever, great video
Such a good video. Please more videos like this!
Terrific video. 2 of my favorite people in golf.
Awesome. Seems like a cool relationship between the two of em. Good people
Somehow, the coach is entertaining and calming 😊
Hope Rickie pull of a Major soon...nice guy, always near there
Ron's face when the favourite cuisine is Italian.... Priceless lmao
One of the best coach

Those House of Fleming alligator belts they’re wearing are pure class!!

So pure.
Ricky is a class act
I think it was more Rickie giving a lesson. Butch just seems to “like” everything Rickie is doing.
I mean at tour level you have to believe a lot of maintenance lessons are just saying hey you’ve got it you’re great.

You’re a genius
Precious man that Butch!!!❤
Fire vid
300-yard bunker? Not even a thought for me. Not till my second shot that is 😅😅😂😂
If I was a touring pro, Butch would be the coach I would want!

Id love to see Butch and Phil Mickelson get back together, 2 smartest guys in the industry.
This gets so good around the 11:00 mark.
I’m waiting cuz the first 10 minutes is useless
16.44 and it still sucks
That was awesome 👏🏼 ⛳️
So Rickie puts the club behind him for a left hand grip and then only brings it to the front. What routine 😮
Butch: You’re driving has really improved.
Rickie: Fore right!
1 interesting thing, PROs use normal wodden ten times with driver, we amateurs pretty much brake it after one-2 shots..
“Should be pretty straight”
Hits slice
“Whoops”
Me every shot 😂
0:21 “stock way” 😂my stock way is pull hook left OB
Irons next plz
more please
I officially hit my driver as far as a tour pro!!! Only difference is mine usually end up on different fairways 🤣
One of the finest teachers, who ever lived, despite his golf swing knowledge, being : very basic 😊
ricky goated
I wonder when this was filmed, interesting Rickie still using the Aerojet
then... the year the Aerojet was flagship?
It says October 2023.
October 2023 👍
Brooks is using a Sim2 driver down in Mexico this weekend, sometimes the older models don't need replaced every year
@@SiLoMixMaster They typically do if they have a full bag deal Brooks does not
Tiger should have stayed with butch he would have 20-25 majors easy. Butch what a legged 🙌🏼
easy 25 majors if he was a mormon
Awesome
A controlled 100% is what it’s all about, 80-90% swings are the enemy
For pros! Not for ams
Actually most Tour Pros are around 85% for Stock Swings,Then they have another gear if and when they need it…

Still like his older “shut” swing. Only swing that could maybe give Rory trouble.
Clueless
Perfect weather.. perfect wide open range...at least make it more difficult
Butch is the GOAT.

I like that
Some of your RUclips videos have thumbnail issues and SEO issues
Tiger shouldve never left Butch
caddies make or break your experience so tip your caddy well and get the full experience
"I carry it 310" Every drive he hits on camera before and after carries 275-280 🤦
He's probably using range balls he has 175 miles per hour of ball speed that is easily enough speed to carry 290+
🤡
Butch really demonstrates how elite players must be handled very carefully. The last thing they need is an egotistical arrogant character that will end up doing damage.
I am sorry to say this but looking at the recent Fowler's performances I think he is the last person that can give advises on how to play golf

Is he trying to land it in a coffee can? Why is he even practicing?
lol, undercover with mics on.
I like both Butch and Rickie but this video was agonizingly boring. C'mon golf digest, spice it up with some better editing and improve the format
I did not like the video as much as the coach liked everything the player did 🍍
