Cant imagine the amount of balls this kid has hit to become so detailed with each club and distance …on my best day I might hit 2 out of 20 similar distance, within 10 yrds ,and nowhere near each other left and right 😬
I agree. He didn’t seem settled. Like maybe something caused him to be late, or he had to wait for a late start or possibly he has to leave as soon as possibly for something else.
@thegamingrelish9272 I believe this is why Bryson and Cobra split. He kept trying to get them to make clubs, especially his driver, a certain way to exhibit certain performance characteristics that were opposite to what most manufacturers design their clubs to exhibit. Cobra either didn't want to, or claimed it was impossible. Then after the split he started finding success with other brands, and even clubs that he personally designed, that were designed to perform the way he wanted them to.
@@thegamingrelish9272back in the day, the draw produced the distance needed to play the game (draws naturally go farther than fades). This was because a fade produced so much spin that it was basically impossible to play. Equipment these days is so good at producing distance and low spin, that most players play a fade to get more control. Higher launch, more spin, quicker to stop. But what Bryson just talked about, I’m not sure and I’d love to go down that rabbit hole. He knows a thing or two that very few others know. But I don’t think he’s going to let it out of the bag for a loooong time 😅

The golf digest guy is quick to ask questions about distance control, but has no interest in going into how drastically a millimeter of strike on the face can effect spin and launch especially with a guy like Bryson where miniscule amounts equal 10-20 yard differences of end distance. Let's flip this and let golf digest guy hit while Bryson is flippant and asks if he "wants to talk aobut it" after that nerd can't hit one yardage gap
Once again Bryson leaves us hanging with what lofts he uses. Instead he acts like hitting his 9 iron 189 is impressive... NEWS FLASH:: its not impressive if your 9 iron loft is 30 degrees 🙃
Bryson doesn't seem like himself in this video. OR this is actually himself and he didn't turn the nice fun guy persona on. Either way 2025 Masters champ right here!
I like Dechambeau but this was not a fun video to watch. Hearing him complain after every shot was kind of annoying. He even complained at the ones that successfully reached the target. It’s not good audio.
@@GolfSidekick yes, I am serious. Can you answer? Do you think 235 is short for a 9hcp. I'm a 2.9 and average 285...seems dramatically shorter for a marginally worse player imo. I'm no expert though, so I'm open to understanding.
@@joshmason6169 I can see that contributing for sure. I guess establishing the appropriate sample group is important. Let's say Men under 50. What do you think the average 9 index driving distance would be? I guess I really don't play with many shorter hitters, so perhaps my opinion is a bit bias.
couple of different reasons. But when I tried one, I did feel like I didn’t have to grip it as hard and keep good contact with the club. The reason I don’t have it is I don’t like that superstrokey feel and I can’t imagine what the club tangle would be like.
Why the gate keeping with psychedelics, 10 years is an arbitrarily long amount of time to wait. Do you wait ten years to start therapy or taking pharmaceuticals?
He’s obsessed with saying “just a 9 iron blah blah I’m Mr strong man blah” does he hit it very far ? Sure. But just keep in mind his lofts are absolutely jacked. His 9 iron loft is my 7 iron. Two club difference. And the 9 iron is the length of a 6 iron. So really I hit it farther then him.
I doubt you hit it further than him but, you’re def right. All he talks about is “blah blah blah”. people D ride him cause he started a RUclips channel LOL.
His clubs are numbered based on the spin rate for the most part so his 9 iron gets the same spin rate as a regular 9. Since he hits it so hard the ball spins a lot more which is y he delofts them
He's 9 iron with 7 iron loft still produces a steeper landing angle and higher spin than your 9 iron. So the loft is kind of irrelevant. That's one of the main advantages of hitting it long, you can keep a steep land angle with a good amount spin on longer shots, wich allows you to make the ball stop faster on the greens.
@@stian8488 But anyone who hits the ball "further" than average, gets more spin and more height, but they dont all change the numbers on their irons to correlate. I think people have issue when commentators or people say "wow bryson hits so far" (he does, dont get me wrong), but I watched one of the PGA tournies or a major it might have been, and they were like "WOW bryson hit an 8i and Rory hit a 6i". But they are pretty much the same club. Rory could probably (give or take a little bit), hit Brysons 8i as far as his own 6i. Brysons 5i has less loft than my 2i which is 18 degrees, and if you watch his ball flight in this video, that is 2i ball flight, not 5i flight.
Bryson is an unbelievable athlete and golfer but keep in mind his lofts on his irons are about 1.5 clubs longer than standard irons. For instance his pw is lofted to about a standard 8 iron. This tricks people as fuels his ego haha!

Wow, what a camera view of Bryson's talent. I watch him on his RUclips channel often, but this exhibition shows just how talented this young man is.
That “controversial“ topic was a topic to pursue. But since Golf Digest is basically owned by the manufacturers (via advertising), it wasn’t pursued.
Can someone explain to me what makes it controversial. I haven’t heard about the difference of a low spiny fade vs a low spiny draw.

In 2022, I played with a guy who hit his 6 iron 250 yards (Taylormade P770). He made it look easy.
He’s right in that contrary to popular belief, you can hit spinny draws and low spinning fades.
Tighter fairways make a cut with less rollout more likely to remain on fairway.

Could you find a more complicated and awkward way to mention which yardage he's got to aim for? 😂
I wonder how consistent his spin would be with blades. My guess is, it would be more consistent than with those hollow body irons.
Apparently the hollow bodies bring down his spin which is what he wants
205 yards with an 8 iron.
