I vacation in Destin twice a year and I always watch the planes approaching the runway from my spot on the beach, it was nice to see the pilots view of the landing. I have watched all of your videos, they are addicting.
Hi Greg, You’ve managed to do it again. Through your astute finesse and excellent camera manipulation you’ve taken a flight into a gloomy gray sky way and transformed the experience into a blue-sky day, outstanding as always. Thanks so much for saving the moment and sharing.
Whadda ya mean..... Destin in June is nothing BUT pure paradise on a daily basis :) Us Floridians just throw in those wet anvil clouds to make things sorta interesting :)
Flying in a dynamic atmosphere with multiple cloud-layers and rain is hard to beat. It all looks great as viewed through the wind-screen! Good ride, P1D!
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing. If you have the opportunity sometime it would be really interesting to see a quick video of the cockpit controls and switch panels. Oh, and co-pilot Sam is a fortunate young man! Dave
odc43054 Thanks Dave. I have some good videos that will be posted in the next week. And your idea is a good one....and not the first time I've heard it. I'll try to make it happen.
Greg - Great video as always. I'm jealous that just when I figure out how to replicate one of your camera angles, you come up with a new, better one! I'm also jealous that Sam is getting all these Premier rides and I'm still waiting for my first one!
I was really glad to hear you giving SAM a chance to run thru the CHECK LIST, and I've seen you give him a shot with some of the ATC COMM work, and making minor instrument adjustments ( like ALT ) and I've seen him getting in some taxi work..... Geez, most I thought about it, SAM is slowly getting a lot of experience. I think you should be commended for the verbal instruction you give him ( like the taxi sign markings, and the HOLD lines etc on the taxiways. When he finally gets started with a real Flight Training Program, he is going to be so advanced, and it will be because of the time you have taken to explain what you are doing, and WHY you are doing it. I am sure there are some times when things get a bit dicey, that SAM understands that the command BE QUIET WHILE I FLY THE PLANE isn't because you are being rude. You can just watch his expressions, and listen to his questions and feel his enthuiasm. Bruce/SWFL/ RSW
Great Video. Funny because I took off out of Destin yesterday morning before the weather got too exciting. Lots of precip and building clouds. It was a rainy day to fly back to Dallas. Interesting perspective to see the size of your landing pattern compared to my little Cessna. Fly safe!
Is Sam a student pilot? Its awesome that you share your plane.... I watched some of your vids from years ago and it's crazy how much better the HD camera is. I just got my IFR rating a few months ago... I love flying and learning aviation.... Thank you for your vids....
Richard Crosby SR Sam is going to start taking lessons. I know he's been bitten by the aviation bug like the rest of us! Congrats on your IFR rating. That is the best rating to get. Any plans to work on your commercial? It is pretty easy to get.
I did buy all the study guide info... I'm thinking about getting it... I dont think I will ever use it. I'm 47 and set in my career. I just love flying. I only have 300 hours ha... I'm just now starting to really relax... How many hours do you have? Do you privet charter your plane? ok have a good day....
Richard Crosby SR Hi Richard. No charter in my plane. It is all part 91 work. I have several thousand hours...but I've been doing this a long time even though I'm just a year older than you.
Funny..... Richard, he is being modest here :) Ask him about his 10 yrs flying an F 16 in the Air National Guard ( 10,000 hours I believe he said in the F16 alone)
Question?? I notice you have on board weather and Forflight.. on the IPAD .I have a small cessna 182 and I have forflight weather only is it pretty reliable ? I do have the Stratus. I love your vids... Thank you for taking the time to share with us.
Richard Crosby SR The Stratus weather is pretty reliable and that is what I have depicting the weather on the iPad. The radar resolution on the iPad is not quite as good as what I get on-board. I have the fore flight stratus weather because it is much easier to plan avoidance actions on the iPad then it is on the aircraft system.
I thought the landing was good and better than a lot of Premier landings where they float down the runway for 1000 feet or more. How much runway would you have used on that one if you had gotten on the brakes?
Videos are great, always fun to watch. I know you said your business has allowed you to have a plane. Just out of curiosity, what's an expected annual cost to have a Premier? I realize that question has lots of factors
One of my favorites! Lived in Sandestin for a few years and loved seeing the GA and military planes landing at KDTS and KVPS.
Excellent setup of the cameras. Can't get enough of these vids. Youve got some of the clearest ATC audio too. Thanks again.
Love this video! I was stationed at Eglin AFB from 1983 to 1986 before I left for Korea. Loved Destin and Fort Walton Beach! Good times!
I’m from Pensacola and a fellow pilot - so it was great seeing a local field on here. Keep up the great channel sir!

Larry Rivers Thanks Larry. I appreciate the comments. Look for some good videos in the next 30 days....some locations you might find interesting.

WOW!!! When you are approaching runways surrounded by water they look so short!! I watched quite a few of your videos, very nice!

Good ride, P1D!
skyyguyy Thanks so much!
Thank you for uploading your Premier videos. Good job flying single pilot. It shows that you have a good flying background from the military.
That shows ya with 10,000 hours in an F 16 will do for ya :)
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, another great video. If you're ever in Gainesville Georgia, just north of Atlanta I would really love the opportunity to fly with you.

drklain Yes, Sam is getting some great time! He really enjoys it and I like have an enthusiastic co-pilot. You'll get your ride Dave!

Been there very nice airport Destin Jet

Fly safe!
Bill Davis I recently flew in a friend's Learjet and was surprised by how big his pattern was so I understand your comment!
very good 1st officer congrats to the trainer
Great video
My office was at the South end of that runway until 2007.
I work at the local FBO there! Hopefully you comeback soon so I can meet you
Nice

Quick somebody throw up some crab legs from the Back Porch.
The only airport that I have flown into where vehicles have to stop at stop signs so planes can pass 😆 🤣

mtnairpilot Had I gotten on the brakes, it would have been around 3,000'. It isn't the most comfortable situation for the folks in the back though.

Wow, Why would they ever have allowed those buildings to be built on approach like that? Yikes.
