  • Pegboard or French Cleats? Are you tired of hooks falling down each time you pick something? How to make custom pegboard organizer with plywood for your tools in your workshop.
I decided to go with pegboard organizer since I already had 2 pegboards installed in my workshop. I like the pegboard for its ease of customization, but simple hooks are not always good to hold tools, so I made these custom organizer to hold my hand tools and I will build some for my power tools too. I think now I prefer this over French Cleats for a tool organizer.
    The possibilities are endless!

Love the look of combining the wood holders on the pegboard and totally rearrangable. Not stuck with the sizes of the plastic bins that are sold.

Wonderful video! clear instructions, clear audio. I subscribed for more! The only thing I would have liked to see is video of you mounting the holders onto the pegboard and taking tools on/off. I got rid of nearly all my pegboard but now I'm considering getting a sheet or two.

Thank you, can't believe I forgot to show that, you right. It's pretty easy to put them on the pegboard. You can unscrew the L hook one turn or two to adapt to different thickness of pegboard so the holders are always close to the pegboard. Since you can secure them tightly when adjusting those L hooks, they stay in place when removing tools from holders. Thanks for the great question, I hope it clarify a little more. Also, thanks for subscribing to my channel! 💪

This looks great and will be ideal for my little workspace :-) !
For the pegboard itself, is this regular off the shelf hardboard that you've drilled yourself, or did you purchase specific pegboards?
Also in terms of mounting it to the wall, did you use a frame at all that you then affixed the board, or simple screw straight to the wall? The reason I ask is what amount of clearance did you need to allow for those L-Hooks to seat correctly.
    Richy.

Thank!! It was pegboard purchased at my local hardware store. Basically hardboard with holes already drilled at every 1 inches. Available in 1/8 or 1/4 thick, i always choose the thicker one. My pegboard have slats every couples inches on the back so it is pretty strong, you can see the build of my pegboard wall here : ruclips.net/video/hvqNDPSkfUw/видео.html , i also painted the pegboard in metallic gray to give it a nicer look! 👍

Thanks for the video! Where can one find that really thin wood/planks? I've always seen the little pieces at stores but never a plank that can be used to cut. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thank you.

100% its not about French Cleat vs PegBoard its all about the custom organizers people do anyway which makes the difference. If anything Pegboard will offer more flexibility versus the french cleat.

This is awesome, thanks! At 2:40 -- can you show how to make the cuts for the side "angle" pieces?

I did it with the miter saw, at a 45 degree angle.
