😊 another question what about when you apply for credit cards like I haven't had credit cards in years and I'm grade 5 for business credit how do I protect my information from credit card and debit or is not getting to this information
I have a virtual address in a state in which I’ve never visited. And when it comes to Amazon deliveries, I have them delivered to a local hub locker where I actually reside.
Question here in Maryland if you get a virtual address you have to let the post office know as approval do they post it to any place or let any associations know that you have a virtual address or does it remain thank you
Virtual mailboxes sound like a great idea. How would you handle food and grocery delivery though? I'm pretty sure doing that would nullify the entire idea.
You either don't use these services or if you do, don't add your name to the order. I think the key is never having your name and address on the same document. Whether or not that's possible is another conversation for another time.
I've used a private mail center (NOT a po box) , physical store , for 15 years now. All my banks , Irs etc etc accept it . It has a Normal street address . Question. ..I'm about to buy a new home. Aside from white pages where else can I remove my address , ie mortgage company and land registry and so forth ?
Great video, I took the steps to remove myself from several sites however when you google search yourself some of those sites still come up in the google search with a small amount of information, like an address or phone number (that is before you click on the link to their site). Is there anything you can do about that?
I currently pick up my post from the post office but I originally started switching to ‘pick up from post office’ address partly because of changed circumstances/frustration at said changed circumstances impact on bulky mail/privacy due to our inside dog becoming our inside/outside dog after we got a fence and gate because the post person doesn’t go through the gate, they just left a ‘pick up from post office via x date’ then leave. Which is fair enough if they are worried about getting hurt and also I don’t want to risk them potentially letting the dog out either but it’s also a Problem when you like to order bulky packages like say toilet paper (this was pre-pandemic so I got a head start there. XD ) and you don’t know when the package is going to be delivered until it’s too late for you to do anything about it. So basically I was picking up most of my packages up from the post office _anyway_ . Originally I wasn’t interested in going direct to the post office because I didn’t want to buy a post box when everything I was ordered would be too bulky to fit, and then they got a new service that was more online shopping friendly where you could get your packages sent to the post office and they’d hold it for x number of days or a temporary post locker that fit your parcel, without needing to rent a personal post locker 24/7 or worry about sizing issues. Switching away from a home drop off also meant I didn’t have to worry about rain as much as well, which considering I order eco stuff in ideally cardboard package means rain can be a Big Concern now the post person no longer has the ability to ‘leave it somewhere dry’ due to the gate. Post theft is less of a concern currently but we’ll probably follow America at some point as online postage picks up. My big thing now is going to be tackling the online security of the rest of the family as they get bitten with the online ordering bug. XD
A word about Post Offices and post office boxes. I inquired at my local PO where I have a box. They have no problem at all accepting packages. They simply keep it in the back and put a card in your box with the box#. You do have to hand it to them when they are open and they will go get it. The problem is other companies - UPS, Amazon, etc - that insist on an actual home address. Another thing, the office might not be open, but the boxes are available at any time to pick up mail. Even 3:00AM Christmas morning. At least at my small east Texas town. Yours might too, just ask.
Other carriers (ups, dhl, fedex, amazon) do not require a home address, they just require a physical address, that could be where you work, a CMRA etc. I get lots of packages and don't receive them at a home address.
@@mekkler I didn't say non-USPS companies deliver to a post office, I said they don't require a home address which is what you said. I said they can deliver to a work address or a CMRA.
Unfortunately with increased KYC efforts in the financial industry, most banks will not accept a virtual address or CMRA for new accounts. If one already has an account, it's usually not an issue to change the mailing address to just about anywhere.
Ok, so I'd really appreciate any help on this I can get. I'm moving to a new house. I don't know where yet, I'm still looking. I don't want any of my family to find my address. I don't use social media, tho, my daughter does. It's mostly my new address I don't want them to know. What's the main thing I should do? I will opt out of white pages but is there anything I should do? I will just try to have my daughter not change address info on her social media perhaps. Thanks.
I didn't understant the part about an "Google alert" (I had never heard about that) for my name and address. Could anyone please explain what would such alert be and how to configure it?
What about your driver's license since I moved I have not changed my address I've kept the same address I lived at 20 years prior so when I change my address does MVA make it public
How about when you apply for a credit card or loan? I've had issues in the past when I used a UPS Store address that I have on the application. It usually flags in their system and they request a copy of my driver's license, etc. Have you encountered this with your virtual address? Thanks and I love the channel, just discovered it recently.
Thanks, Todd! Great question - and for me I have had problems in the past, but they have been few and far between. For example, i started off giving my bank my real address (before I had a virtual address) and have since changed it to a virtual address, removing my actual address. They didn’t give me any problems since I was already a customer. You can always claim that you don’t have a driver’s license and see if they will accept a passport as a form of ID, since a passport doesn’t have your address on it.
How much value is there for homeowners, when companies scour public records for your address? We recently bought a new house and we’re very careful about who got the new address. Oddly enough, magazine subscriptions, old universities, and the like ended up with our current information within a month or two.
This requires advanced planning, but don't title the house in one's own name. Hold it in either a trust or an LLC, it's not that hard to do, it's just not something people think about. And yes, you can still get a mortgage, but it can take a bit more effort to find someone who understands how to set it up.
I moved to new home and did not address anything to my new home address, for over a year NOTHING show up but recently I found my new address showed up! Im puzzled!
@@NoNORADon911 What if you want packages like physical products such as christmas decorations mailed to you lol how can that be done via virtual mail box
Presumably, after moving to a new house, and setting up a virtual address ... you never again shop online? Because you know those stores are going to sell their mailing lists.
@@AllThingsSecured It's worse than convenience though. With so many chains shutting down their bricks-and-mortar locations, you are pretty much forced to buy some things online. You’re right, you either have to compromise on the side of letting *some* companies know your address or finding creative ways to *never* give out your address (deliver to a nearby store or a friend’s house). The point here is that a virtual address gives you options for those companies that don’t absolutely need your real address.
Again you aren't giving people all the facts. In order to have your information removed from whitepagesdotcom you have to give them a phone number so they can send you a verification code and then put it into their website to remove your information from their website. You didn't share that and who wants to give them a phone number?!

is it a good idea to use the virtual address with your employer, banks and loan applications ?
It depends on the situation. Your employer and bank usually don’t care what address you use as long as you receive the mail they send.
