I think both Sydney and Femke both show more respect to one another than this video maker. Both are great performers and yet humble ladies. Femke should be given some more respect than posting the picture of her fall, respect her for the work she puts in and giving Sydney some competition. Without the competition it wouldn’t be any fun. So please don’t write off the rest of the field like they don’t matter.
Yep: Femke Won 36 high profile races + 4 World Championships + 3 World records in 2023 and 2024. But what does the maker of this sad little video put on his thumbnail... Precisely. But, of course that is all calcution. The maker hopes to incite emotions and thereby generate clicks...
@@metermannen559 It's all about the shock factor. Neither of these runners have said a single bad thing about each other...it's usually them both admiring each other and saying the other is a great runner. Being YT..posters like to get the views...that includes creating narratives that are not really accurate.
Neither of these women has ever shown the slightest disrespect for the other.
@@ltyler01 That is absolutely true.
Yes sorry, I read my comment back and found a left over word from a previous edited version that I forgot to erase. I meant that the makers of this video should show more respect to both these stars. Both are humble women who have always respected each other!
This an old clip???? I love Sydney
But Bole is a great athlete too. Be respectful. All athletes train very hard and working towards the one goal of winning!
Bol just got a lot closer with 50,95 improving the European Record. She is still a bit shy of Mclaughlin's World Record. But this is getting up there. Hopefully it will be a race of the ages in Paris.
you must have forgotten the Paris final. I don't read😂
SYDNEY FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO FEMKE BOL. Both each hold 9 of the TOP 20 times in history in the Women's 400m Hurdles. Dalilah Muhammad and Anna Cockrell each hold 1 of the TOP 20 times.
Nevertheless, Femke has earned respect and appreciation. Very unfair starting picture and headline especially since both are humble, honorable and gracious

7 of the fastest 400m hurdles times makes her the undisputed goat . Hands down ! Will take a miracle or her retiring to dethrone her .

Sounds like from the comments the video is not worth watching, so I'll say this. Bol is world class, and the other athletes also deserve due respect. We don't worship people. We respect their abilities and thank them for their tireless work. Sidney is great, but let humility have her place.
Sydney is very humble..it's the media that was hyping up Bol. And she was beaten 😊
50,65 vs 51,45 Femke Bol. I'm already getting excited for Paris.
= 0.8 seconds.
@@ElieWeissenbach-xx1yi If I were a betting man, and I'm not, SML would take gold, but I don't believe Femke will be 0.08 seconds behind this time. Neither of these athletes is ever pushed. I'm excited about the Games!
@@luberdoo1950 I think that is a very fair assesment of the situation...
@@luberdoo1950So Bol is never pushed? So she wasn't pushed in her 2 head to head races with Sydney or in that mixed relay when she fell?
@@sydboski in the 4 x 400m women’s relay at Tokyo Olympics Sydney ran 50.21 and Femke Bol ran 48.97. Femke Bol was pushed in that race to get the Netherlands a better finish. If Bol is going to be obliterated then it will be interesting to see what happens to the others who are racing for the Bronze.
If Femke tries to stay with Sydney for the first 300m, she will lock up so badly in the last 100m she will finish out of the medals. Sydney's only competition is the clock in trying to go sub 50.
I don't agree with your assessment. SML will in all likelihood take the Gold but I'm excited to see her be pushed for the first time. She may win, but she will not obliterate Femke. In my opinion, there is no need to be critical of any of these athletes because they are out there competing and all that we are doing is judging from a distance. Who was it that said, "Thinking is difficult. That's why most people judge." I think it was Carl Jung. For most of us, competing is difficult. That is why most of us judge...just sayin'.
You keep producting these little self-satisfying stories do you? The opposite will happen. Femke is smart, and know where her strength is. She will give a few meters to mcLaughlin on the start, run along with McLaughlin in the 1st 300meter and destroy her on the home straight.
@@luberdoo1950 Sydney is pushed every time she competes. Sydney’s only competition is herself and that’s what pushes her
@mauricebrew7712 Thank you! I really do hope people will stop the "Femke will push Sydney" nonsense. Sydney left that train when she set the 50.68 WR...she proved it was her versus the clock since then.
@@FourSeasons04 Nope, won't happen. People will make honest assements. It is completely irrelevant which "train mrs McLaughlin has left". We do not live in a world where one favorite is deified and "given" the medal beforehand. There is a race to be run (!) And the one who comes over the finish line first gets the gold medal, NOT the one who happens to be your favorite! Furthermore the difference between Bol and McLaughlin is only 51.45 - 50.65 = 0.8 seconds, or 6.5 meters. And as many have said: neither Bol nor McLaughlin have been pushed to their limit by anyone over the last 1.5 year. So we will see what happens in Paris.
At 50.95 Femke's fast Syd's faster and everybody else is now just slooowww
This is the year she breaks 50
If Femke does come up short vs Sydney, she may as Steve Cram and I hope she moves up to 800
Sydney: interesting name that.
The problem is Femke Bol is a terrific runner, an incredibly fine young woman, and a great competitor. The type of person that is a credit to the sport. She just made one cardinal mistake. That of being born in the era of the GOAT, Sydney McLaughlin. The casual fan will remember Sydney, her records and her medals. They will remember Femke just as they don't remember Tyson Gay, the second best runner in the Usain Bolt era. There's room for remembrance in the history books for the Catherine The Great's, not the Catherine the second great's.
these words are premature. We will see about that in about 8 years time, as their carreers are over.
Makes no sense. Bol is more loved than Sydney like Bolt was more loved than Tyson Gay
But not fast enough to compete with Syd who ran 20.07 over 200m, while Femke only did 20.80 recently. In the race, the FASTEST one wins. Can you understand that?
@@virgilius7036 Again you show that you know nothing. Femke Bol´s PB on the 200 is 22.64, run in februari 2024 1 hour after winning a 400 meter in Metz. Please check this on World Athletics... But more important. That 200 meter time is quite IRRELEVANT. The 400 is not won the 200. McLaughlins 200m time is about 0.57 faster, which gives her a 4 meter lead from the start. But Femke´s running style, with her much longer legs is much more efficient, which gives her a big advantage on the last 100 meter. And there it is anybodies game towards the finishline...
@@zmililashley What has being beloved have anything to do with legacy? Bolt was the greatest of all time at 100 and 200m. Both Sydney and Femke are the same age and are of the same generation. In order to even be competitive with Sydney Bol will have to lower her best time in her best event by 1 second, and even then she'd fall short.
Biased nonsense to under-estimate any opposition. Bol and McLachlan Levrone have the utmost respect for each other. There is little difference in their flat speed, speed endurance or endurance. Let the Olympic final decide the outcome...not an opinionated, inaccurate commentary.
Not much in it,don't think weve seen boll pushed all the way
Atlethics rewind afwul. No respect. Please choose another channel
How many 400 hurdles did Sydney do the last two years? And how many races did Femke win in the same period?
We will see them compete in Paris next month …….
Your comparison makes no sense. It is NOT the number of races that counts but the SPEED. And Syd is much faster, 20.07 over 200m while Femke achieved 20.80 recently.
@@virgilius7036 You can not compare different races, run under different conditions, different tracks, weather. Running the same race on the same track on the date is the only correct way to compare. Next meeting date is August 2024 in Paris.
She has yet to race Bol this year, so I am not sure how she has "obliterated" her. Also why show a 100m hurdle event segment in this? I hope Sydney beats her and breaks 50 sec at the Olympics. She has the best stride in track.
Her ‘specialty event’? Never heard that about usain bolt😂
On paper and performance, Sydney is a shoe in for Paris; but I've said that about other athletes too, and a number of them came up short in their big moments.

@@PacoJastorius-gx1fbCorrection: 50.95-50.65 is 0.3 seconds...

I think it'll be a new final to remember in the Olympics.
Under 50?
@@niklasnilsson4705 Correct! I wrote this comment just before the news of the 50.95, I think. And I think you are right. Femke was hardly tested in 2023 and 2024, winning all races with 15 meter of more. And she also seemed surprised at her own performance with that 50.95... On the other hand: more or less the same goes for McLaughlin who also seemed to have something left in the tank with that 50.65... So basically it is anybodies game at the moment, allthough I do think there are a few things that most McLaughlin supporters are forgetting to include in their analysis...
@@niklasnilsson4705 PS. Under 50? Hm. One of the things that I think many McLaughlin fans seem to forget is that the track in Paris will probably not be as fast as the superfast track at Hayward Field where McLaughlin has set her 3 fastest times. @@PacoJastorius-gx1fb You can be right about the time - but I think they can push eachother to a new level... but the weather needs to be good and no accidents in the race, no health issues - but I'm sure they both will be in supergood shape.

Femke Boi doesn’t have sprinter speed and MS S does that’s the difference!! If Usain Bolt would have trained for the 400 he’d be the world record holder!!
The 400m (with or without hurdles) are not won on the first 200 meter, but in the last 100m, when the lactic acid hits. And that is where Bol is very very strong.
The 400 (with or without hurdles) is not won over the first 200 meter. The 400 m is a fundamentally different game. The essence is in the power over the last 100m to the finish where energy depletion and lactic acid build up become really important, and that is where Bol is extremely strong
Femke just run 50.95….. it will be close at the olympics
Like in football there's Messi Ronaldo Harland but the greatest is ...we choose because of the nature of competition
It's not like football where the greatest is subjective. In this situation there is no dispute. It is clear who is the GOAT in this event.

@@metermannen559 No. At this point in time Sydney is the women's GOAT 400m hurdler. That is a fact. It is not premature. You do not have to wait until a career is over to be the GOAT. Sydney is that.
Total package yes? Easy on the eyes.
THIS TICKS ALL THE BOXES OF STRUCTURAL ORGANISED PED USE
General indications for doping use.
1.) strong evidence against the coach testimonies by previous pupils, etc.
2.) An Experienced Athlete is stuck at a certain level, but after joining a coach with a reputation for drugs the PB's suddenly drop spectacularly.
3.) Athlete competes very little. This way the athlete can be fed small dosages in a controlled surrounding (Microdosing) without getting caught
4.) Athlete "mysteriously" disappears from competition, especially during a "minor year"
5.) Athlete sudden re-emerges not to long before A big event, suddenly more muscular and "stronger than ever"
6.) The athlete suddenly delivered hitherto unheard of performances, that seemed "impossible" before
6.) Athlete develops injuries, even though he or she competes very little. This is a clear indication that the muscles of the athlete have been artificially enhanced to a level that is greater then what the bonesstructure, cartilege and tendons of the athlete can handle.
Now lets look at the case of mrs McLaughlin and mr Kersee
1.) Her coach Bob Kersee is well known as a doping coach, there are even official testimonies against him,
2.) Before joining mr Kersee mrs McLaughlins carreers more or less topped out. Her PB was 52.23,
3.) After joining Kersee in 2020, 6 years into her carreer, her PB suddenly dropped to 51.46 in 2021 and 50.68 in 2022
4.) Since 2020 McLaughlin has never been competing more then 6 to 7 (and often less) times a year,
5.) In 2023 (pre-Olympic year) and early 2024 McLaughlin stopped competing
5.) McLaughlin developed a "minor knee injury" in 2023, even while only having run 5 races on the 400m and 1 on the 60 meter
6.) McLaughlin reappears after 1.5 year, clearly much more muscular, and faster then ever before
7.) McLaughlin deliveres a UNBELIEVABLE performance, after only 3 serious races
THIS WHOLE THING BEGGARS BELIEF.
One thing that I have learned, is that if something is "To good to believe". It usually IS TO GOOD TO BELIEVE.
