If you remove the motor completely and unclip the plastic base. Behind the grease, you will see a shaft with two gears. There are two spherical brass bushes at each end, and a tiny shim is beside each. As the gear runs, these bushes and shims wear out.
As the mirror mechanism is just one big lever, the wear is amplified, causing the mirror to wobble. Insert a couple of tiny washers on the shaft behind the ball bushings to take out some of the play.
Don't remove the play completely, as you need some to compensate for the start torque of the motor.
Happy Fixing!
Thanks Peter, that's great advice, I've pinned your comment now to hopefully help others!
Detailed , spherical, substantive and laconic, one of the best video i have seen. There is and second part???????
Thank you!
thanks for the vid my mirrors go in but not back out so now they are a bit wobbly
Thanks for commenting bud. Yes that's the issue I had, one barely moved, the other went in but not always back out and they were both very wobbly. A slight breeze would have them slapping about 😂
Thx for this vid!
Thanks for commenting :)
Hey, could you reupload the pdf please, thanks in advance

Dude, what the heck are you doing....You can buy that whole mirror for 50 dollars. I did.
Have to make sure it's the right colour with the correct options etc so I just grabbed this one whilst I was at the scrap yard getting other bits, it probably owed me £5 each mirror 🫡
