W209 CLK door / wing mirror - Harder than it should be! Remove and fully disassemble

Hi guys, couldn't find any videos on this online so found the PDF below from a helpful guy on a forum, but can't find the original post sorry! Let me know in comments if the file expired I'll re up it!

If you remove the motor completely and unclip the plastic base. Behind the grease, you will see a shaft with two gears. There are two spherical brass bushes at each end, and a tiny shim is beside each. As the gear runs, these bushes and shims wear out.
As the mirror mechanism is just one big lever, the wear is amplified, causing the mirror to wobble. Insert a couple of tiny washers on the shaft behind the ball bushings to take out some of the play.
Don't remove the play completely, as you need some to compensate for the start torque of the motor.

Thanks for commenting bud. Yes that's the issue I had, one barely moved, the other went in but not always back out and they were both very wobbly. A slight breeze would have them slapping about 😂

Have to make sure it's the right colour with the correct options etc so I just grabbed this one whilst I was at the scrap yard getting other bits, it probably owed me £5 each mirror 🫡
