- Ditching Windows wasn't really ditching Windows, but more like Ditching macOS...

@@XKurrA Windows 8 was a great OS, it was faster than 7 but I had the stupid tablet menu, that kill it, if you tweak Windows 8 to be as the same as 7, it will be much faster and reliable, I'm not even kidding ahahaha

@@MeraMadness I've used windows 8 very minimally, and did use 8.1 for a little bit too, I found no noticable difference in performance and speed than in Windows 10. I'm thinking of also making the switch to Linux but the ease of use is stopping me. I'm using Linux Mint on my laptop which is the easiest one by far to use, yet I still struggle, maybe one day, for now I am just waiting for windows 11 to reach its end of life.

I used other Distros like Ubuntu 24 and mint 22 as my first intros to Linux environment, but since 2-3 months ago I switched to Nobara 39 KDE Plasma 6 (Fedora based) and it is awesome. I still use dual boot Win 10 and Linux on my PC and I am mainly on Nobara. I don't want to use Win 11. Your Arch distro looks beautiful. thanks for the Video :)
@@omegathunder4115 Fedora/Nobara is great, I used Fedora for 5 years and it was perfect, Windows 10 is not that bad but I still rather use Linux, thank you so much :), I'm going to make a video about it.

i took a look at it, and you are still using swaylock and swayidle, you should definitely give hyprlock and hypridle a try
My first dip into Linux was Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala that replaced Windows Xp and never looked back. Nowadays I'm still on Ubuntu, only LTS versions.

Windows 7 was my personal favourite windows of all time. Windows 8.1 was the last decent windows in my opinion. Im no expert in linux but I finally settled on fedora with kde as my main distro.
Linux is far more stable then windows with my first observation and now with proton on steam there is no excuse for saying linux aren't meant for gamers.
Only issue I'll say Linux still has is wifi adapters because my usb one did not work I had to buy a pcie adapter.
As a software dev is still annoy me to be forced to use windows 11 at work with all the bloatware taking up system resources.😂
@@HannoImmelman my personal favorite was Vista, because I had a great system and it was fast, then Windows 8, but Linux is more stable than Windows by a mile.
Enjoy Fedora, is a great distro and probably the best one for new corner.

You should try darktable and krita instead of gimp if you don't like it, you can always just continue using gimp
