I can only imagine what this must've looked like IRL. Looked spectacular on a 22" desktop monitor. Awesome job to all involved. The logistics and programming are mind-boggling.

I build and fly quad-copters but this goes way beyond what I can do. Being able to have that many quad-copters interact with each other while in flight must have been a programming nightmare. Especially the moving bull. I'll definitely give them the credit they are due. Coding something like this and to have it work flawlessly is in MHO nothing short of amazing. I would love to see something like this live. Thumbs up to the whole crew that put this together! 👍
Their not really coding. The software they use does that, they are creating what they want to display.

@@JF-kb5cy yes just the same as at any time time they can hit a land now button and the computer takes care of it.

@@JF-kb5cy the course for the drones is programmed, they dont have to figure it out while in air. Their paths simply dont cross.
How do the drones manage their positions so well and not collide? Impressive technics in use. The show is fantastic.
There actually communicating between each other. On the ground there are multiple differential GPS transmitter that gives each drone high accuracy of physical location.
@@judd_s5643 I guessed they used differential GPS. Else the distance between them would have to be larger. Impressive anyway.

We are majorly lagging behind China. The biggest drone shows i see planned in my state of Illinois up unto new years is 250 drones. Not enough to make look really cool. Can't make as much fancy stuff. We don't have as good of choreographed patterns. don't very drone light brightness enough for strobe. In USA at least. We have been surpassed. Not even Chicago is going to have a big enough drone show. Let alone one of the 3 or 4 cities in central Illinois here. I could make it to Peoria maybe. Nothing decent near us and travel is too expensive in America. Cost me an arm and a leg just to go to Peoria and that is a lot closer than Chicago and Chicago is too dangerous for any rural person like me. Peoria itself is too dangerous to be honest. We don't want China leading in drone technology like they are. This advances their military technologies and algorithms for military technology and then they surpass us. We are not making stuff in America as much. We have to out build them in civilian drones or pay the price later. Because this goes into how many drones you can get in the sky and control. Very useful for saturating an enemies defenses. Drones can spread apart or be controlled in groups or separate using command and conquer or age of empires type control. Where you can select united to tell those select either one or several on what actions or maneuvers to perform. Change it up at any time.
Before I wanted to go to South Korea to see the country, now I want to go there to see the DronShow! 😄

Hats off to the team, thats impressive on a huge scale! Flew my drone around a 140 drone show here in Salt Lake last night and thought to myself I might want to try that *was excellent* and so now I'm here. this show was next level and mindblowingly good though!
Time to get some programmer's and make some software simplifying what I would imagine would be this complex process.

Each of them is on a different frequency. Are they 2.4ghz?
I think they are all connected to a wifi network so will all have their own unique IP address. 2.4ghZ wifi range gives a longer range
Next record. How many can you get up in the sky with no losses. They all have to go back to the landing spot.

It almost looks like CGI but that is because we are not used to seeing 5000 drones with lights flying in sync.
