Thanks for sharing Vlad. I was happily surprised with the blog post as well. Many applications still are architected in a monolithical way. I am not a developer but you can consider monolith and microservices to be on opposite ends of the spectrum. The fact that Evernote is more and more using microservices, means that they implement, update and change small, autonomous pieces of the software/code without breaking the chain in the software, allowing them more flexibility, scalability and usually quicker updates. Using containers (they referred to a Docker based platform as well) is one of those examples. So you can bet that the Evernote team is working hard in innovating the application, given me enough confidence to keep my notes in there. Keep sharing your views. Great eye openings 👍🏻. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for the explanation. I also got some emails from viewers, and I'm now realizing how significant and important this work under the hood was.
As a loyal client for over a decade, I decided to switch to the open-source Joplin for my two accounts. It's like the Titanic raising prices for passengers during the voyage, claiming they're repairing the ship [while firing the entire crew] and everything will be fine under new management. But I'd rather not take that risk and move forward with a better option. Good luck to the remaining passengers!
Thank you for all of your helpful videos and information about the Obsidian "ship." After researching the options, I ultimately decided on the Joplin. Your informative videos are always appreciated.@@vladcampos
Before the announcement my evernote was just fine. After the announcement my notes loading getting worst. Example. I want to start a new not. It took 1.5 sec to load before I can write. So not worth it for the price I pay.
Totally agree. not only are my notes taking quite a bit of time to load - I'll chalk that up to whatever RTE conversion is happening in the background (although it happens every time, so not sure what they mean by "conversion"), I'm actually losing notes or part of my note on new notes, e.g. bullets point. There is an issue with Evernote not saving correctly on my desktop app. This has happened numerous times. I've started to copy and paste my notes into Google Mail so that I have a record of what I wrote (took me a couple of lost notes to figure I should be doing something about this). @VladCampos, can you reach out to the Evernote folks (I would, but I can't find an email address for them and their chat is apparently down due to the volume), and call their bluff. Knowing something about technology, I would say that their conversion to a new architecture did not go well. I've been a paying member since December, 2012! I like what it did, I want to stay.
You're lucky it's still 1.5 seconds to load. On my end, I have to wait 30-45 seconds. And worse, after creating the new note, it makes me start outside the note so I have to find the note named Untitled and work my way from there.
After the update I talked about in this video, they released another one. Did you get it? What about the web client? Is it working fine? Also, have you contacted costumer support?
@@vladcampos I wrote to customer support. got an automatic reply. I believe they'll contact me sometime next week. I was just wondering if other people had the same problem. I believe I have the latest update. Thanks
Marissa Mayer note? I missed the title other than “the fight to save”. i thought it was “the fight to rob yahoo of its value”. she’s one of the worst (and least likable) CEOs in modern history.
Unless you are a part owner of Evernote I was not saying you have. My point is literally they are ignoring the Elephant in the corner of the room- price rises.@@vladcampos
Thank you, Vlad! After seeing how fast your web client was loading, I tested mine out and YES, my notes with files in them are loading faster. Maybe there is still hope for our green elephant so I will still stick around.
I never switched 😉. I moved only 2K of my 16K notes and am creating new notes on both 😊. For example, one thing I did like a lot on Obsidian is the Publish feature and I did move my website. And after experimenting with the videos about Obsidian, I do plan to talk about other Apps in the future. That said, rest assured that my 💚 is still with Evernote 😊
When Evernote 10 was released, there was a Linux beta. But based on what I'm hearing from the community, it hasn't been updated for a while. That said, the web client has all the same features. The only missing pieces are some keyboard shortcuts that are only available on the desktop clients for Mac and Windows.

You're the best source of info about Evernote. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to me 💚
Absolutely. Vlad is the best

Some great news from Evernote here, and glad to see the explanations and follow up from Vlad.
I'm glad you liked it 💚
Please ask when we are going to have toggle list, that slides on and off! collapsible items please!

I am always worrying about Evernote as I have invested so much into the platform.

Is it just me experience problems after last update? I cqn’t use tags or see the recent notes anymore e😢

A great part of the narrative is about Yahoo's story before her and that's why l like this book.
What about the prices rises- for broken beta test software?
One thing that I can tell you for sure is that I had no say in that decision. I'm just a RUclipsr talking about an App I use and love 😉

7 Months ago you put out a video that Evernote Is Dying. Now you have a Good News… Evernote is alive and well. Really??? Which is it?
Dying? I think you're confusing me with someone else.
This is the first video of yours that I've watched. You're ridiculously likeable haha, always smiling!
Thank you so much for your kind words!

If you’re opening for the first time (since the change to RTE) those notes that take a little longer, the conversion could be the cause of the delay.
Yes, the conversation was causing the delay, but it should not be happening anymore. At least this is what I understood from the article.
So now as Evernote is coming their week moment and bringing good news, will you come back from Obisdion?
I never switched 😉. I moved only 2K of my 16K notes and am creating new notes on both 😊. For example, one thing I did like a lot on Obsidian is the Publish feature and I did move my website.
