Appreciate the video! Came through looking into more examples of templates for my own Obsidian experience. Tip: I would bake the creation of the file date into the body of the document (or even the title if that's important to you) via "templater plugin" so you don't always have to write it in by hand. The way I'm using this, which I really like, is instead of in the title I have a dedicated section for "standard links" that will populate when I make a new note. In my 'basic note template' file it will populate with just a "created date: [[<% tp.file.created &]]> with formatting to make it match up to the naming convention in my 'daily notes' folder/files and links it to that automatically. This gives me two things (1) all my notes can be found by going to the daily file note for a particular day, and (2) I can sort in dataview (or whatever) based on the same info which is automatically copied into a property of the created file. You could still do all that while adding it to the title. You just wouldn't have to write it out every time.

@vladcapos The touch command is for changing the modified date and hence this doesn't change the created date as some commenters have pointed out. BUT, since in your example you modified the date to be prior to the created date, OS X also changed the created date. This is because it doesn't make logical sense for modified date to be less than created date.

This "Properties" section keeps getting removed from the extract whenever I try to export the notes to pdf. what can i do to fix it?

Odd that you are having problems with syncing a specific folder. This is exactly what I'm doing with Syncthing and my A5X for my recipes which I primarly maintain on the PC but add cooking notes on the Supernote when in the kitchen. No problems at all.

Thanks for sharing this work-around. But you're right, the inability to use your own templates in the template feature is frustrating. It's a clear weakness in Evernote that should have been addressed when it was rolled out. I really don't like Evernote's templates--too fussy and inefficient.

I am giving a try now after watching your video. Unfortunately mine is not centered as yours, instead it is located in the upper part of the page which I find it kind of weird. Awesome! One thing you might want to make sure other people know is that Apple's repair manual actually specifically said to NEVER lubricate the drive rails no matter how tempting it is. Cleaning them with isopropyl alcohol is the proper way, although I don't know why. I can guess that it is because all oil breaks down over time -- even synthetics like WD-40 become a sticky mess -- and silicone lubricants were not common back then.

Very very interesting. I had tested Obsidian since it appeared several years ago, but I had not persevered. I started using it again a few weeks ago. When I realized, just after, that I could use Obsidian Publish (it was while searching about Publish that I came across your videos!) to get rid of Wordpress (which I hated and therefore no longer used!), I immediately downloaded all my blog posts to switch to Obsidian Publish, gradually. Being able to publish directly from the application in which I write and work is an absolute dream (and no longer having to use the wordpress interface!). I have been doing structure tests and re-publishing these posts gradually since then, while experimenting with what I can do with it. A question: I see that you have configured your domain name, did you simply follow the official instructions? That's what I did but so far it hasn't worked. Anyway, thank you for your videos, and keep up the good work!

I think the best plugin is simple and direct-to-purpose one. Some of plugins are too much complicated so I cannot customize as well. I tried to describe Stage property system, but there was no simple, obsidian style dropdown property menu, except for 'Metadata menu plugin'. Finally, I just developed a simple plugin that shows specific messages by number properties. Now without dropdown menu, I can make star-rating system, and process-stage system by number in property field. poor english

I saw you briefly used the "Chain" button/icon in EN. I didn't know what this was for but assume it is to link (chain) text to a note or picture/photo ? If so, that IS very handy.
