I made my first ever hexagon cardigan and your video saved me! People don't realize how much dedication it takes to make clothes for yourself when you're plus-sized! You often have to adapt the pattern, which is not the easiest for a beginner like me, and it takes soooo much more time to make! Sometimes in the pattern they say it took them like 2 days, and I'm like "yay, short project" but then 1 week later I'm not even half way done, struggling and wanting to give up😂 Anyway, thanks so much for your content, it really helps! 😄

The wrist cuff was my moment of "am i going to finish this?" I made almost a complete cuff with only one decrease, and it was double the size i needed the cuff to be. frogged it, decreased again and its still not small enough. So I'm frogging it again and doing another row of decreases and hoping it works his time. Or this sweater is going to go in the WIP box, never to be seen again! Fourth cuff is the charm right?! hahaha

I'm making my first hexagon cardigan, and as a plus sized woman, I got very discouraged by the lack of information on how to adapt the cardigans to fit my body. I planned on frogging the whole thing and giving up until i found your video. Thank you so much for posting this and helping out a fellow plus sized crocheter ❤ I'm finishing up the first half of my cardigan right now

Whew! What a lifesaver, or project saver, I really appreciate how you showed decreasing the stitches on the arm, up close. YAY! I subscribed just because your efforts are of such great value to me and others. Thank you so very much!!!!!!

Oh! This video has been found at the perfect time! I was following a different RUclips tutorial’s sizing chart to make a hexagon cardigan somewhere between a 3X and 4X but in doing that, I’ve made the sleeves waaaaay too big for my liking. So now I’m going back and trying to figure out how to stop the cardigan at a sleeve width I like, but to keep going to add to the front and the back since I’m plus sized. I knew I’d have to add to the rounds - what you show here in orange, but I wasn’t planning on joining them because that then pushes the armpit too far so then I was lost on how I’d do the edging. Let’s just say it’s been a long few days and I’m very glad I found your video! I’m going to go through your videos to see if you show the cardigan now. Excuse me. 🙃

Hi Nova. This reminds me of the first winter coat that I purchased for myself when I was 19 (72 now). The main sleeves were loose, almost belled, and quite short. The sleeve that came down over my wrist, was knitted. It was attached approximately 4 inches up inside the sleeve, then decreased to become slightly snug on my arm and snug onto my hand. It looked amazing. Instead of reducing or gathering your sleeve in, you could leave it loose, attach stitches up inside the sleeve and crochet a snug long sleeve of any colour. My coat was plaid with very dark brown knitted, snug sleeves and it was amazing. It had a knitted part inside at my chin, which looked like there also was a knitted brown cowl. I loved that coat. Personally, I think that your sleeves would be more stylish, left loose and short with tight, long sleeves coming out from underneath. With much love, Audrey. ❤️🇨🇦🧶😘

This has been very helpful. I have not done a hexicardi yet, but plan on doing one sometime this spring after some of my WIPS get finished. I was worried about the sleeve width if I make the hexagon large enough to meet in front and back. I also may make a collar and button bands.

Nova 🤩 you are a GEM 💎 this video is fantastic!! 💝🥰 Everything about it is extremely helpful! I did want to know about the sleeves but you also covered other areas I really was unsure about like: how to go around the whole cardigan, your way is different than the tutorial we are following and I like it better. Also the tips on adjusting areas along the front for bust/ tummy, OMG, brilliant! Your little drawing and measurements are so useful and helpful, I took screenshots. I will be watching this a few times. I’m thinking of sharing it in a couple of crochet groups I am in. So many designers fail to include differences if they do plus sizing for their patterns-it isn’t just about more rows, there are issues of shaping and proportion. I knew you were onto that when you commented about your cardigan in past videos. Even though this was a lot of work for you and had some serious info, as always it was fun and a pleasure 🎉 I can get to finishing these 2 cardigans with much more confidence! (I want them both finished by my birthday on November 20.!) I’m so grateful thank you! 🤗 😘

Curious if you added an extra row on each back-side before seaming so that there would be a small neck opening? (did that make any sense?) All of your tips were PERFECT. THANK YOU!
