Unfortunately, it has only 1 RAM slot. Takes up to 8GB DDR4L RAM on the 15IWL variant and that isn't sufficient for anything these days unless you run Linux on it. Also, whoever decided it was a "good idea" to not provide the standoff and screw for the nVME drive should be in prison for the rest of their lives. The ones from Amazon won't work, ones from eBay as well, and you'll have to order them from their site and it could take weeks to get the hardware for it.
Hi Rick, thanks for this video because I was able to figure out how to open up my laptop and things to be done before replacing the RAM. Now, my question is, my laptop is also Lenovo Ideapad S145-14IIL, will 16GB DDR4 2400 will work with this? Or should I get higher Mhz or should I stick with the Lenovo's recommendation of total 12GB Ram only. Can you give me an advise? thank you. Liked and subbed by the way.
If you are running an intel 10th gen or earlier I would get 2400mhz, but if 3200mhz Is only a couple of dollars more I would buy that (in the new market there will be more 3200mhz than 2400mhz)
@@rickstechrepairs I see. how about the GB? the seller from an online shop told me to get the Max capacity of the laptop's memory by doing cmd - wmic - get maxmemory and it shows it's only capped at 12GB only. So he doesn't want me to get more than 8GB.
Super helpful! I installed my ram upgrade without issues! Thanks :)
Excellent!
Hello, can I just ask what is that purple strip, which like a rubber? What does it do? I opened my laptop just now and saw that strip melted.
thanks for sharing the tour man !
No problem 👍
Hola amigo una pregunta, se le puede aumentar el disco duro a 2TB?
2TB should be fine
If i used a 16gb ram so its gonna be 20gb will it work? I bought a 16gb already😭
yes that should be ok to run @ 20gb of ram
Which frequency is compatible???
any DDR4 module should be fine, i would probably buy 3200mhz
I have the one with Rizen 6. Can I put 32 gigs on this?
Possible
Hiiii, does it only have one slot for ram?

max ram on this model?
i would probably go to 16GB but no larger than 32GB
@@rickstechrepairs thanks, I ended up just putting in enough for 12GB total
@@rickstechrepairs you can only put a 16gb ram chip in, for a max of 20gb.
Hi, which memory ram can I buy? DDR4 8Gb 2666, is it okay?
81W6
Lenovo IdeaPad S145-14IIL. Model
If it's an Intel chip that will be fine
Have The sane doubt
thanks a lot..
