Congrats on your purchase. Looks like the real deal. I have a Manfrotto that I haven’t used in years. I can imagine Mr. Bean or inspector Clouseau demonstrating all the possibilities it offers. That would be hilarious.
That's an impressive bit of kit there Roberto and useful for all of the reasons that you mentioned. It looks a bit big for a travel tripod though. I use a beanbag for most of my long exposures, bracketing and what-have-you but I still need a tripod at times. Well done on re-assembling it again without swearing or trapping a finger, I presume that it was done on one take!
Hehe.. you got me i cut the swearing out.. i thought that.. not really a travel.. cant imagine what a non travel looks like.. also i cannot get the head off.. it feels like its welded on tight.. cant remember how i got it on first place
Good demonstration Roberto, sometime ago I got a K&F tripod because it has a similar system to shoot on a 90 degree angle, but I didn't like the ball head that came with it because when I would set up a frame to photograph a landscape or a table top set-up and let go the adjustment knob the camera would drop (not much but enough to bother me) so I got a Benro 3 way geared head (GD3WH) which cost me more ($180.00) than the tripod that I have but it's great, you can really make micro adjustments, it's a very well made piece of "machinery". Be well, stay safe (and dry).
Wow that gd3 looks impressive. Yeah ball heads are fiddly. If i shoot a lot ill prob upgrade. Thanks for advise. Tripod heads are a bit confusing to buy. I should go to shop for demo rather than always buy online
Yes. Depending on the use case at hand, you need a tripod. Or any other solid base ... depending how far I'd need to schlepp a tripod in addition to other gear, or depending on whether a tripod is appropriate (downtown, church, ...), I found I even could get by with a cleverly designed bean bag (to be filled on site).
Yeah. My style never needed one and i just use a pixie or prop it on a brickwall.. but thought time to get serious and get something solid.. everyone needs a good tripod in the kit.. video too
Hi Rob, you can see Jerry thinking “not another damn contraption” 😊 Nice tripod by Benro there. Other than using a Manfrotto for the commercial stuff, I tend to stick to the pocketable pixie for my personal ventures. It’s very useful for mirrorless cameras and as it’s lightweight I’m more likely to take it with me.
Lol 😀 yes my pixie goes with me on my walks. If i need height i use something around me to rest on. I want to start shooting proper landscapes (one day 😆) and thought better get something proper. Jerry can carry it for me
I bought a Tilt-All many decades ago -- never seem to use it. I will say it is sturdy enough to use for a tire change on my car, or to fend-off a bear attack, but I guess I am just not a tripod guy. At this time I have an Amazon Echo atop the Tilt-All -- looks like a robot man. I think Jerry said, all you need is a tippy-tail ! 😌
I never saw Jerry so bored, lol. This won't be an issue for you, but when the temperature is below freezing you don't want an aluminum tripod touching your ungloved hand!

At 3 seconds who needs nd filters 😆 i hardly use it to
With the built in ND filters you don’t 👍

Lol yeah. Had it for a month and only used it once. Jerry fends off koala bears with her swinging tippy tail 🐨

Haha. No chance in oz.. i never thought of that. I noticed these things are also full of lubricants grease. Prob why they are so smooth
