You can always tell a true talent when they try so hard to lipsync on que but cannot...she wants to sing it live so bad, you can tell...this is a goddess, a force of nature! Damn!!! She's great!!
I am CURRENTLY reading Tina Turner's book, "MY LOVE STORY." New York Times Best Seller. She is the Guinness Book record holder for most tickets sold for a single performer.
On this day in 1967 {July 1st} Tina Turner performed "I'll Never Need More than This" on the above episode of the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... At the time the song was at position #118 on Billboard's Bubbling Under the Top 100 chart, four weeks later it would peak at #114, and it spent five weeks on the Bubbling Under chart... The song was composed by Phil Spector, Jeff Barry, and Ellie Greenwich... Ms. Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock, will celebrate her 80th birthday this coming November 26th, 2019...
Now that was beautiful back then the voice was truly an instrument the quality of her voice with the strings is amazing it wasn't a lot of stuff like now your voice truly was used there is no long vocal skills today like it was back then I studied Opera and my vocal coach worked me so I no quality and her voice gives it Phil Spector had her do it till it got right she probably did it in one take
They're on the same album. Least in Europe but this song was released in the states in 1967. So weird. They really didn't know how to promote Tina in those early years.
One of my favorite performances from her! I'm waiting for someone to post the full clip of her on American Bandstand in 1965 singing 'AM I A FOOL IN LOVE' & 'GOODBYE SO LONG'.
As amazing as "River Deep, Mountain High' is, this song is far better, IMHO. The lyrics are timeless and one could easily envision Ms. Turner performing this in concert present-day without it seeming out-of-date.
The second single taken from Ike & Tina Turner's 1966 album: 'River Deep - Mountain High'. I'll Never Need More Than This' - 1 of my fave songs, so underrated. Got both that song & album on CD. 😀😊💖❤💜🎤🎼🎵🎶
Why didn't Phil produce the whole album? This is so majestic. Also funny how she says she wishes to tour Germany and she became one of the biggest solo acts in history there!
He did produce the whole album. This was on the 1969 reissue of River Deep Mountain High. The first issue was in 1966. Then they reissued it in 1969 and they removed "you're so fine" and replaced it with "I'll never need more than this."
Theturners71 - many thanks for posting this clip, intriguingly without its title. What a discovery - there are several uploads of this brilliant song on RUclips but all others show a single image or a picture of the vinyl single. While this is mimed quite well, the power of the production makes it light up. We preferred it to River Deep Mountain High because of the unusual atmospheric lyrics within two simple verses: "I can only say that I'm all filled up with pride loving you, loving you And I'll never need more than this, Oh, I'll never need more than this And I wish this could go on forever and ever and ever" But it sounded too much like its predecessor to have been a major hit single. The recording by co-writer Ellie Greenwich on RUclips is also worth a listen. All the comments here are positive; there should be thousands more!
This was featured on The Phil Spector's Box Set Back To Mono. I have it. I had no idea that she worked with Phil Spector. Tom Wolfe (RIP), once called him The Tycoon Of Teen. He was the first acknowledged Superstar Record Producer. Before there was David Foster, Timbaland, Pharrell, Williams, Jermaine Dupri or even the UK Songwriting Team Xenomania (who said they were influenced by Phil Spector & Motown). He still makes "Bank" even though he's locked up.
laminage what? U didnt know, what about River Deep Mountain High he wrote it and produced it, u never saw the movie? She recorded it in 66 sound just like this actually
Oh yes. In fact Celine Dion sings it whenever she does her Residency in Las Vegas and Nicola Roberts who is 2002 Sang This Song when she tried out for an up an coming Girl Group in the UK on a Show called POPSTARS: The Rivals, she got in and The Group Girls Aloud are the most successful Group to come out of Reality TV in The UK. I saw the Movie and I was blown away at how he did his productions. I only found out when I was looking through The Book that had The Song Lyrics and each Page had a Picture of The Act who sang it. Darlene Love, The Crystals, The Ronettes, The Modern String Quartet and Bobb Y Sox & The Blue Jeans.
You are in for a treat then. Look up and download the "River Deep Mountain High" album. It says Ike & Tina but it's ALL Tina, backed by the majestic Wall of Sound!
Thanks for sharing, I've never seen this! She is singing "I'll Never Need More Than This" on American Bandstand. Do you have Ike & Tina's 1960 performance of "A Fool In Love" on American Bandstand?
bluesugar58 Sorry, I don’t. I downloaded this video off RUclips from this revolver person a few years back. Their channel is gone now. So I decided to post it for the people who never saw this before. I wanna see that Fool in Love clip myself! Someday... 😊
Hi I'm a huge Tina Turner fan but I've never heard this song before, maybe it wasn't released here in Australia. Anything you have could you please let me know? I'm interested in the early Tina Turner tv appearances. Thank you for sharing all this.
Ahh those must have been the days. Where the talent came to serve the people and only the most Nobel, disciplined and worthy blacks/“people of color” were allowed in. In this case the only one was Tina. No punjabs, no socorros, no loud and disgruntled attention “all eyes on me” immigrants…. Ahhh such a time. I’m glad my home is like that. 💤
Just don't have singers like that anymore and show women all over the world what Love's Got to Do with It and still think that popcorn on The Masked Singer is her
Vocals (and deep interpretation) just stunning.
You can always tell a true talent when they try so hard to lipsync on que but cannot...she wants to sing it live so bad, you can tell...this is a goddess, a force of nature! Damn!!! She's great!!
kenneth delesseps Agreed!!!
the queen of rock and roll
kenneth delesseps exactly.
yep. this was the type of singing she really wanted to do then, too.
Same with Whitney Houston and Patti LaBelle 😂
Rest in power Tina. You are music itself. Thank you. We will miss you forever

She was so beautiful 😍 omg !!!
RIP Tina. Thanks for the music. XX
Lipsynching is so restrictive for a dynamic performer like Tina. She needs to sing live! Lovely song but you can tell she wanted to sing live.
No she is single the track with live vocal ‘
fantastic! tina this is a beautiful song.
First time hearing this good song
What an incredible talent ..💐

Moving pictures are a wonderful thing.
Beautiful lady. A great artist and very humble.
This sounded like River Deep Mountain High
It’s in the “ River Deep Mountain High” Album
It's because both songs were produced by Phil Spector.
Both songs were recorded at the same time, with the same session singers and instruments, in the same studio, and both produced by Phil Spector
They're on the same album. Least in Europe but this song was released in the states in 1967. So weird. They really didn't know how to promote Tina in those early years.
This song was part of the masterpiece River Deep Mountain High album that Phil Spector produced but was underappreciated at the time.
One of my favorite performances from her! I'm waiting for someone to post the full clip of her on American Bandstand in 1965 singing 'AM I A FOOL IN LOVE' & 'GOODBYE SO LONG'.
if you ever find them let me know!

The Queen...

staggering .. and new to me!
I never knew Spector produced for her, this is so different from her other hits.
You are in for a treat then. Look up and download the "River Deep Mountain High" album. It says Ike & Tina but it's ALL Tina, backed by the majestic Wall of Sound!
Gracias por mostrarnos, es muy bueno conocer desde sus inicios a ésta gran Super Estrella de la música, aplausos!!!!!!!!

The Name Of The Song Is I'll Never Need More Than This
WHAT A VOICE !!!!!!!
Happy 80th Tina!
you should put the song title in the description. I've been looking for this for YEARS.
They will take it down if I do...
I love this song
That's a star 👍💕💖
Tina is the BEST. Yes, she is a FORCE...
She was 27 going on 28 that year!💚
Love you forever Tina ❤❤
Magnificent, typical flawless Phil Spector production for lack of saving grace, Tina Turner performs with magic female vocalists would ever attempt.
My fav TT. Thanks.
Nossa deusa do rock e do blues!
Prince of love...❤
Sang it!!!!

The song is "I'll Never Need More Than This" - from the River Deep Mountain High album, it was released as a single in 1967.
Germany Paris... Zwitserland 🤩🤩love her so much
Tina forever
Awesome
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Tina Turner is still a diva, luv ya
SUPER 💖
Talent
not her style but it is really an unexpected performance.
I’m not crazy about the Phil Spector sound, but I like this one!
Harika perfekt ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Coronavirus the grace to wash the video and get a new account with you.
I don’t get how lip-synching is even an option for singers, they made good singers like Selena (Quintanilla not Gomez) lip sync to their own songs.

Tina R.I.P. ❤️
This should've been a huge hit
It's better than RDMH
Just don't have singers like that anymore and show women all over the world what Love's Got to Do with It and still think that popcorn on The Masked Singer is her
You can tell she was young, early 20s here. Ageless.
