What did Jesus say Mark 16:16? Did Jesus say He that believeth and is saved shall be baptized but he that believeth not shall be damned. Or did Jesus say He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned

sorry but Mark 16:16 is not talking about water baptism the one baptism in Ephesians 4:3-6 is speaking of Spirit baptism vs 3 is speaking about keeping the unity of the Spirit it's all spiritual you can do nothing in the natural to baptize you into the spiritual body of Christ flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God in John 3:5 Jesus is explaining the natural birth with water that's why women say my water broke but that's not enough that's why Jesus is telling him he must be born again born of the Spirit the very next vs explains it that which is born of the flesh is flesh which cannot inherit the kingdom of God and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit which can inherit the kingdom of God that's how a person knows he or she is his because his Spirit bares witness to our spirit that we are the children of God Romans 8:9 tells us if you do not have the Spirit of Christ you are none of his Jesus is the one who baptizes with the Holy Ghost at the moment you believe the gospel according to the scriptures 1corithians 15:1-4 for the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes Romans1:16 Paul said if anyone preach any other gospel let him be accursed and remember Paul was not sent to baptize but to preach the gospel if water baptism was necessary for salvation Jesus would have sent him to baptize but he didn't because Jesus is the one doing the baptizing with Holy Ghost and then you're sealed unto the day of redemption don't trust your water baptism to put you into the body of Christ trust Jesus alone let God be true and every man a liar as it is written that you might be justified in your sayings and might overcome when you are judged

@@kevinramsey2636 Mark 16:16 is definitely talking about water baptism because baptism in the Holy Spirit was not for everyone, it was for the apostles. It did not save the apostles but enabled them to reveal the message of salvation and confirm that it was from God. As we learned from Acts 2:38, salvation comes in obedience to that message of salvation, the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is when the believer, repents, and upon the confession of his faith in the name of Jesus Christ is immersed in water for the remission of sins, that he receives the gift of the Holy Spirit.
There is only one baptism today (Eph. 4:5), “the washing of water by the word” (5:26). The one baptism is the baptism the disciples of Christ were commissioned to administer to all nations until the end of the world (Mat. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16). This is the baptism that saves us (1 Pet. 3:21).
That's one. Do I need to show you more inconsistencies?

    • @kac0404
      @kac0404 2 года назад +2

@@kevinramsey2636 He baptizes us into one body (1 Corinthians 12:13).
This passage does not teach that we are baptized in the Holy Spirit. Only the apostles and Cornelius’ household received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The baptism in the Holy Spirit did not convert them but was to empower the apostles to bear witness to Christ and to show that the Gentiles could be saved just as the Jews. This miraculous outpouring of the Holy Spirit was only temporary until the complete/perfect revelation of the New Testament was delivered (1 Cor. 13; Jam. 1:25; Jude 3). Now, there is only one baptism (Eph. 4:5; 5:26). It is the one commanded by Christ unto the end of the world (Mat. 28:19). It is the one all must receive to be saved (Mark 16:15-16; 1 Pet. 3:21). It is immersion in water for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 8:35-39; 22:16). This is the only baptism that is a part of our conversion to Christ.
So, we are not all baptized in the Holy Spirit, but we are all baptized by the Holy Spirit (cf. 1 Cor. 12:3, 9). We are baptized by the the Holy Spirit through the gospel of Jesus Christ (cf. Acts 2:37-41, 47). We are baptized by the Spirit into the one body (i.e. the body of Christ, His church; Eph. 1:22-23; 4:4).

In Romans 6:3-4 Paul wrote, “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” At what point does Paul indicate that one dies to sin and receives new life? When he or she is “baptized into Christ.”

      God's Plan of Salvation
      GOD'S PART
      1. The great love of God for man (John 3:16)
      2. He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Saviour (Luke 19:10)
      3. Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (John 16:13)
      4. Gave the Gospel as "the power" unto salvation (Romans 1:16)
      5. Provided atonement by the blood of Christ (Romans 5:9)
      MAN'S PART
      1. Hear the Gospel. (Romans 10:17, John 8:32)
      2. Believe the Gospel (Hebrews 11:6, John 20:31)
      3. Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30)
      4. Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:10, Matthew 10:32)
      5. Be Baptized (Galatians 3:27, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38)
      6. Be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
God has done His part; will you do yours?

It’s insulting that men like AC wants to equate the church of Christ as just another denomination amongst denominations because they have chosen to buy in and believe in man made religions traditions that fits what they “ want to “ offer God and will not humble themselves to the truth of God’s word. The church that Christ purchased with His own blood is not a denomination and that’s the church that Johnny, myself, and all others who have repented and water baptized for the forgiveness of our sins are members of and represent!❤😃👍🏾!

If you are debating of baptism, it already shows your personal relationship with the Lord. I was baptized after I got saved so I don't need to worry about it but if you are worried about it, go and repent your sins and get baptized. If you do not and after death find out you was wrong, it will be an eternal lose to you but if you get baptized and it did not make any difference to your eternal life, what is the lose in getting baptized? Now, end the concern.

      Acts 9
1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. note
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Most Bible translations have the same message, but in some it is obscure.
GOD'S WORD® Translation- Colossians 2;11-12 this translation makes it clear.
      ----
In him you were also circumcised.
But it was a removal of the corrupt nature in the circumcision performed by Christ.
This happened when you were placed in the tomb with Christ through baptism.
      ----
Only "immersion water baptism" represents (placed in the tomb) buried with Christ.
      Sprinkling does not represent buried.
The verse says that the "circumcision performed by Christ" "happened" at "immersion water baptism".
This verse means and directly shows that without "immersion water baptism" the "circumcision performed by Christ" does not happen, and therefore no salvation.
Without both faith and the circumcision performed by Christ, there is no salvation.
Without both faith and "immersion water baptism", there is no salvation.

Tim Sturm If you read Romans 5:1 and think that Paul is saying "Anyone who believes Jesus is the Son of God is saved and saved the moment one that they believe", then you are going to have trouble when you get to I Corinthians 6:11 which says "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are JUSTIFIED in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."
If you are not teaching people to be BAPTIZED that they might be JUSTIFIED then you are NOT teaching the Gospel the way Paul did.

      God's Plan of Salvation
      GOD'S PART
      1. The great love of God for man (John 3:16)
      2. He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Saviour (Luke 19:10)
      3. Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (John 16:13)
      4. Gave the Gospel as "the power" unto salvation (Romans 1:16)
      5. Provided atonement by the blood of Christ (Romans 5:9)
      MAN'S PART
      1. Hear the Gospel. (Romans 10:17, John 8:32)
      2. Believe the Gospel (Hebrews 11:6, John 20:31)
      3. Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30)
      4. Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:10, Matthew 10:32)
      5. Be Baptized (Galatians 3:27, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38)
      6. Be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
God has done His part; will you do yours?

If Salvation could have come by works then why would the Law needed to be replaced .
No one has ever been saved by works. From the first man till the last salvation has always been by Grace through Faith..
Man fell by believing the wrong words and man is saved by believing the Right words of the right person.
It is the word of Faith We preach says Paul.
      Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
      - So what did they preach?
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

      - IF it shall come to pass and it did.... Why then are you not letting it come to pass???.
      - all Because of the water..
Acts 2:38 is still the Baptism of John.. that Jesus spoke about 10 days before..
      Acts 1:5
And there he tells them one more time that he is replacing the water of Johns Baptism... The Baptism of Repentance into the Baptism of the Holy Ghost..
Both were an act of Repentance...
      - One a man does for you and the other Jesus does for you..
      - Which one would you rather base your enteral distanation on?
      - just as Circumcision by mans hands was replaced by the circumcision of the Spirit..
So was repentance taken out of mans hands and placed In the hands of the Holy Ghost..
      - That's why every Baptism in Acts is always after Believing and receiving the Word of God .
      - What is the Gospel? The same it has been from the Garden.. one came to take away sins. believe on Him and you shall never perish..
      Out of Jesus's mouth Himself..
      - Faith to Call on the name of the Lord..
Just like the Thief with his hands nailed to his cross he could do no works of righteousness to earn his forgiveness..
Just as his feet were lifted off the earth he could not walk holy enough to earn it.
All he could do is to fulfill the promise of God from the beginning..
Just like Abraham believed So must we believe his report..
      - Sir the Promise from Joel was that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved..
      Have you called?

@@-_-THINK-_-great question. First, no one is subject to hell until they know good vs evil and choose evil. So all the unborn, infants, toddlers, young children, mentally handicapped, etc are heaven bound. Everyone else is required to hear the Word of God, believe it, repent of sins, make a public confession Jesus is Lord, and be baptized into His name for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21) and then continue to walk in the Light to become and remain saved and if you fall away repent and come back (1 John 1:1-10, James 5:19-20). Will God make an exception for someone who truly desires to follow Him who can’t physically be baptized before death? The Bible doesn’t say so we can only have an opinion and not know for a fact. When Jesus was baptized it wasn't for the remission of sins but in order to fulfill all righteousness. Some disciples who were baptized of John the Baptist, Apollos, Cephas and the like were more emphatic about who baptized them than the actual purpose for baptism. Therefore in Acts 19 Paul laid hands on the disciples of John and they received the Holy Ghost.
John the Baptist's baptism was referred to as The Baptism of repentance for the remission of sin. Meaning it was for those who had already repented. Repent for the remission of sin. Therefore after they repented they could partake in the Baptism OF repentance for the remission of sin. "For God so loved the world" not in order to love the world but BECAUSE He already loved the world.

    • @tipofday

Jesus was baptized to fulfill all righteousness by fulfilling prophecy, I agree. Also as a public declaration of John's ministry and to publically reveal who he was to the others present including John when the Holy Spirit came upon him. It was the manifestation of the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit manifesting who Jesus was as the fulfillment of prophecy.

To what were the 3,000 added in Acts 2:41: "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."
The church was not established yet when the baptism of John was in progress therefore those people who were baptized then were SET IN the Kingdom when it came.
"And God hath set some in the church," (1Cor. 12:28).
The account of Acts 19 were men who had been improperly baptized. Once Christ had died, resurrected, ascended then men were baptized into Christ, in the name of Christ. The baptism of John was technically still under the Old Law System, while our baptism today is under the New Law of Christ.

Most Bible translations have the same message, but in some it is obscure.
GOD'S WORD® Translation- Colossians 2;11-12 this translation makes it clear.
      -------
In him you were also circumcised.
But it was a removal of the corrupt nature in the circumcision performed by Christ.
This happened when you were placed in the tomb with Christ through baptism.
      -------
Only "immersion water baptism" represents (placed in the tomb) buried with Christ.

Where Johnny Robertson is going so very wrong is that being baptized in the "name of Jesus Christ",means to be purged in the manner that Jesus provided for salvation. " John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:" (Luke 3:16)
The remission of sins is not achieved through H2O, it is achieved by the blood of Jesus Christ. " For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." ( Matthew 26:28)
"Water" is used to refer to anything that cleanses, or washes away dirt, physically or spiritually! It is used to describe the Holy Ghost (John 7 :38 - 39). It is also used to describe the word of God, which the Holy Spirit inspired ( Ephesians 5 25-27). Biblical context will tell you exactly how the word is used. When Jesus says, " except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, context tells us that he's speaking of the word of God, and the Holy Spirit which giveth life. ( Ephesians 4:30, 2 Corinthians 3: 17 - 18). And that was done by the Redemptive work of Jesus Christ who sent the Holy Spirit. ( John 16 12 - 15).
Johnny should stop being so argumentative, and listen more.

Baptism shows a good conscience toward God / The Apostle Peter clearly confirms, "baptism doth also now save us" 1 Peter 3.21.
      - Baptism washes away sins Acts 22.16.
      - Baptism gives entry "into" Christ Romans 6.3; Galatians 3.27.
      - Jesus, our authority, made baptism necessary when he gave the command in Mark 16.16. In other words, our sins are not washed away, and we are not "in Christ" until we are baptized.
      - Since baptism is for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2.38), we are still in our sins (and lost) until we are baptized.
      - We should also realize that baptism is a burial or immersion--not sprinkling Romans 6.3-4 and baptism is for believers, not infants Mark 16.16.
      - Many folks say "we aren't saved by works!" Yet, is baptism a work? It is a work of God Colossians 2.12. Jesus says belief is a work too John 6.29. James says we must have faith plus works James 2.14-26, note verse 24. We are saved by the mercy and grace of God, but He demands we be baptized to wash away our sins. He does the work through His Son's blood if we follow His instructions.

Paul Baptizes entire families multiple times. Infant Baptism is legitimate.

    • @kac0404
      @kac0404 3 года назад +2

Not true. In fact, the Bible actually teaches that infants have no sin in their lives that they need to repent of or be saved from the wages of (Rom. 6:23) in the first place. A widely held belief in the denominational world is that babies inherit the guilt of their ancestor’s sins, going all the way back to Adam. It is this belief that in fact led to the establishment of the practice of infant baptism by men two centuries after Christ lived on this earth and the church began. However, the Bible very specifically states that people are not held accountable for the sins of their ancestors (Ezek. 18:20). In fact, Paul described a time in his life when he was spiritually alive before becoming a sinner (Rom. 7:7-11). He also described Jacob and Esau as having not yet done either good or evil while in the womb (Rom. 9:10-11). If the doctrine known as “original sin” is true, Paul would not have been able to say this about himself or about Jacob and Esau because they all would have been physically born sinful. But if children are born free from the guilt of sin and remain so until they reach an accountable age as taught in the Bible (Is. 7:15), then Paul’s statements about himself and Jacob and Esau are correct.

Your teaching on baptism not only changes the gospel but adds to it, and your claim to have thee only truth about baptism makes the holy spirit a respecter of persons who leads only the Church of Christ which is a denomination weather you admit it or not into all truth and leaves the rest of us in the dark, lest we all close down all of our denominations all 44,999 of them in the us and come to sit at the feet of a COC pastor in order to hear the real bonafied, 100% truth. God is not a respecter of persons and neither is his holy spirit. When we hear the gospel message and receive it and believe it, we are born again by his spirit and able at that moment to not only see the kingdom of God and enter it, which means we are forgiven of our sins because of our faith in him before we are baptized. If after being born again we can enter his kingdom then we have been forgiven of our sins. I believe that everyone who is born again should be baptized because it is the first act of obedience for every new believer to publically identify with the work that Jesus did on the cross and we do so because we are save and not in order to be saved or forgiven. This doctrine shows a complete misunderstanding of the atoning work of Christ on the cross. Sadly this is not the first false teaching that has ever come down the pike and it will not be the last.

John 3:3’s record of Jesus’ command that we must be “born again” in order to see God’s kingdom is very revealing, especially when one recognizes its figurative nature. Nicodemus didn’t; thinking that Jesus was speaking literally, he asked how a man could enter his mother’s womb a second time (v. 4). Jesus clarified by telling him that one could not enter God’s kingdom unless they were “born of water and the Spirit” (v. 5).
Christ’s reference to water is a clear allusion to baptism, a term which in the literal Greek literally refers to immersion, specifically immersion in water (John 3:23; Acts 10:47-48) in order to obtain salvation (Mark 16:16; 1 Peter 3:21), forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16) and entrance into Christ (Romans 6:4; Galatians 3:27) and His body which is His church (1 Corinthians 12:13; Colossians 1:18). Christ’s church is His kingdom, as we see when we read that Paul and John, while writing to the church (Colossians 1:2; Revelation 1:4), would state that God had placed the members of the church into His kingdom (Colossians 1:13; Revelations 1:6, 9). Since Jesus’ church is His kingdom and when one is baptized they are added to the church, we see why Jesus would require being “born of water” before entering His kingdom.

@@kevinramsey2636 Repentance alone is not what makes one a Christian. Acts 2:38 teaches that repentance and baptism are necessary for remission of sins. Mark 16:16 makes faith and baptism necessary. In Romans 10:9 a verbal confession is essential. Thus, all of these things are required and since baptism is the last act of obedience for conversion, one is saved at its point, not before.
