You re the best in the business mate! A video on the main differences between economic consulting companies (eg frontier economics, Cambridge econometrics etc.) and strategic consulting (eg big 3) But also differences between big 3 and “tier 2” consulting firms (ie Accenture, Oliver Wyman)
Wow again. Man as I said before, you provide extremely valuable info for people. And I’m still waiting for the responsibility part :)). May Allah grant you with more knowledge and health!!!
Loving the videos, very insightful and honest! Would love to hear your thoughts on the role of a fresh MBA graduate in the role of Associate; what they do day-to-day, salary/bonuses etc etc. Keep up the great content!
Real testimony here : dropped out of school in 2016 from a Sociology degree to work for banks in Canada. Went through a few positions and just finished my Hirevue for GS yesterday. At the moment, no bachelor degree (1 course away this winter), 6 years of wealth management/retail banking experience, fired from my last job a week ago. Not even making this up.
I know degrees are irrelevant on the job, which begs the question, WHY do they make us study it? Sending signals an individual can learn and do well is surely signalled at A-Levels anyway? Uni wastes 3 years of time and money. Especially when the firm provide top dollar training...
Hey Afzal! I want to get into finance. But I was wondering and have a few questions. 1. What did you do in your sales position at GS, 2. How does one pick which category of a firm to "join", 3. How difficult is it to stay afloat in the cutthroat world of finance?
Hey bro I majored in economics. I feel like I’ve got nothing practical that allows me to apply for jobs. How can I transition into finance and banking ?
Great video! Could you also talk about breaking into finance/IB/consulting for post-grads or career changers? How can they break into the profession without internships/summer placements?
Bro.i am Internation student..i would like to get into part of this society but, I do not know where I find this society.right Now leaving in London.. I also looking as investment banking after my post graduation.. So how I can find???
Hi , I'm pursuing bachelor of hotel management and catering technology and how should i join goldman sachs asset management , do i need some online certificate courses for it. Thanks .
Apply for an Asset Management internship and graduate schemes; learn about markets and try to take CFA level 1 first > above the above mentioned. If all fails, get lots of exposure and learn about business and economics and then do a MBA
The fact that you already have a Bachelors in Engineering is very impressive. I’d get the MBA first if you can find an affordable way to do it since it will open more doors for you. The CFA is much more specialized. I would get the CFA after if either a job you want requires it or if you’re happy at a job and your employer offers some sort of incentive for you completing the CFA such as a promotion or huge pay raise that will provide a guaranteed ROI. Best of luck.
Dear Afzal, first of all thank you for your videos, I enjoy watching them and they have been quite helpful. Regarding this video, do you know if firms, specifically investments banks take into account that some subjects are harder or more time intensive than others. For example I study mathematics and statistics which is way harder than my university's business degree. Thank you in advance for your response :)
Not sure if this was implied (maybe not do to that 2:1 rule) but what about if one doesn't have any academic background but rather self taught. Granted as long as you know what you're doing will that still qualify for entering the industry?
Having done aBsc in Operations research and Statistics which professional will be better to get in to either Actuarial Science or Chattered financial Analyst. Thank you!
It was a great piece of motivation that you have given to me , as I was wondering how to get to the world of Investment banking. I hope that you would make a video of different types of accounting. Thanks sir
Azfal, great channel, I learn a lot. My question is: I graduated with a degree about Communications. But I don't even get call about the positions I applied to. I have two Banking internship, and I started learning Economics at 8 years old, and I'm working on building a financial model in 90 minutes. What else could I do to make myself more marketable? Thanks. Btw, I have 3 jobs, one of them an internship a total of 100 hours in productivity.
Hey Afzal! Great video once again. I have some questions I want to ask, could we have a quick chat? Please let me know what would be convenient for you! Thanks!
Great video Afzal! I wanted to ask you, what would the degree that would suit me best for the investment banking world be: statistics, computer science or econometrics? Right now I am leaning towards econometrics
Completely agree with the above, very helpful, especially in trading but do what you enjoy most you don’t want to be studying something you don’t enjoy
@afzalHussein sir your a huge inspiration to me.But I have a question, how much do you think that Artificial Intelligence is going to impact the world of finance/investment banking? and should I as a student who aspires of being in the investment banking/finance field be worried about starting a career in the the field of finance/investment banking?
What is a 2.1 GPA equivalent to in the US ? Because to me that means a "C" average - and to my knowledge almost no one will hire an applicant with a "C" average. By all means it would be awesome if they did but I've always been told that you at least need to have a 3.0 or "B" average to be considered. If you could, please elaborate.

Never stop making videos 😁
this gives me a lot of optimism, thanks for the video!

Hello
Great video Afzal! I wanted to ask you, what would the degree that would suit me best for the investment banking world be: statistics, computer science or econometrics? Right now I am leaning towards econometrics
Computer science is gold dust right now in the job market
Completely agree with the above, very helpful, especially in trading but do what you enjoy most you don’t want to be studying something you don’t enjoy

Hey Afzal, can we talk, I have many queries related to my career, I'll be really greatfull if we can have a conversation.
Can a college dropout go for investment banking or be an investor?
Sadman Runic being an investor requires no degree but big financial institutions will only look at people with degrees
