Shame this guy didn't get as popular as Johnny Hobo. I really want a version of Kicking your shins on youtube that doesn't cut off half way so I can put it on my phone.
@@Mario89778 So I only now just realized what I meant, at the time and maybe still now, the only stand alone version of the song on youtube cut off half way through, not this version.
I've been listening to Pat for around 2 years now and literally never noticed this was a split album until I actually took a look at the album cover. So glad I did.
I have to say a comment on the hobo hafe brought me here iv listened to that side for meany years I never knew what mantits even meant I thought it was just a joke on the cover I definitely think this should have been the b side of the album but at the time from resurch mantits was the bigger name at the time but I feel is that hobo been the a side it might have made this album have a different part of history I love both sides now and I can listen to all the songs on both sides I really can feel this guy and pat splitting an album but the hobo side is truly the pinnacle of folk punk but this guy's work is a very close second best and he's been doing it longer so I feel this guy right her is the god father of folk punk as we know it rock on it definitely deserves more than 32k views it has an almost pink Floyd vibe with the political ideas much deeper than the hobo side witch is mostly about self destrution
It depends on what you like I think the hobo side is much more appealing because of the classic hits on it of witch there is at least 7 I love the first 4 songs and the last song on this side but to me it's almost a drag to listen to the in-between of that I love in pursuit of happiness as a full album but this in my mind is far from his best work even his self titled is better honestly it felt like to me that the only reason he split this with pat is because he wanted to get them the coverage because he was way more in the scene at the time and I feel he was the veteran leading the young gun
man there wouldn't be much to listen to if we picked who we listened to based on who the musicians are as people edit: that being said, why what's up with this guy? did he do or say something really shitty?
@@michael2126 i mean based on his song lyrics. Ik many people don't actually believe what they sing and it may just be for twisted comedy or the vibes he wanted, but if it isn't this man is royally fucked up.
Music Lover Pat got clean and changed his views on things, so he retired so he wouldn't write music about the things he doesn't feel anymore our loss is his gain and I'm happy for him.
+b sharp This is not the Pat side of love songs. Notice how the cover reads "Mantits + Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains" This is Mantits' side of the album.
Forgot how good this is. Johnny Hobo got all the love from this split(and rightfully so!), but Mantits was super rad and underrated.
Agreed but this is an awesome b side

Anybody else notice that Ode to Freedom is basically a complete deconstruction of Johnny Hobo's half of the album?
