I always tear up at "a punk rock song won't ever change the world, but I can tell you about a couple that changed me". Because for so many of us, these were those songs!
Pfff.... respect to the band, but they don't know sht about politics. When someone supports communism, while revolting from the govt, they're misinformed. Real punk is pro Constitution. Because the Constitution is a defense clause for out of control govt authority including cops.
Amen
Eat an asshole. Flutter kick your tongue on that dingleberry until you knock that puppy loose.

Eh they're alright, the only song i really like is Never trust a man.

Is it easy as piss yet? It is for me
2 years for me man. it gets easier, forsure. suboxone helps loads in the beginning.
Stay strong and sober! It's worth. If you relapse it's not the end try again. Been there done that. It becomes easier with the time.
Hope your still sober 💕

Kevin Wallick
I think this might be Pat's greatest album ever. Since he made it right at the end of his drug abuse, he puts so much raw emotion into his music that it blows away all of his other records. I listen to a lot of music, and this is the only album that makes me want to cry, sing, kiss my loved ones, and start a fucking revolution.
Don't start one, BE ONE.
So much emotion. Truly touches my soul even still.
I like his earlier stuff better, but I drink myself to sleep every night sooo...
@@uselessnothing8551 me too
The combination of hope and a full backing band catapults this to my favorite of his
That one album you keep coming back to.
+LifeShorts All of pat's albums are worth coming back to!
Good point! I do come back to them all, it's just that I tend to come back to this one without even thinking about it.
+LifeShorts Johnny hobo was definitely better, but this is still a great album.
Glide yo / Matt v I'm not sure if I can put them in order.
+Tag Cigzy | Leader I used to think Johnny Hobo was better but I've been listening to this more and honestly they are both insanely great. Johnny Hobo has more angst and depressive thoughts which can be cathartic but this album has a powerful political message with strong anarchist themes.
Urine actually shrieks at a pitch that only the Street Cleaners can hear.
Cecil Palmer lmao night vale. Awesome.
This comment is iconic and I will never forget it
When I think of all the money I've spent on drugs and alcohol, and the line "druggies spent on the drug money..." got me thinking of what good could've been done if we'd invested it in our community and in ourselves. I'm sure what I've spent alone could put a dent into it. I'm cleaner now. But I and the ones around me, if we worked as hard to get anything as hard and desperately as we worked for drugs, we could've had anything. But all we did was destroy ourselves, and sometimes others.
glad that you where still there to write this and i hope that you are still around
We can still try that comrade
Anti-Anhedonia is cool, dude! Everyone check out this guy's music!
I blasted this album when I quit drinking and taking Xanax. It's nihilistic but uplifting lyrics kept me afloat while I struggled to stay sober. A fucking awful time in my life. I had been living hard for years and just mentally crapped out.
I bounced back after a few years of just really working hard to make things right. This is one of those albums that just lifted me up when I was at my worst. I still listen to it now and then almost a decade later. Just goes to show how powerful this album really is.
I know Pat isn't doing music anymore and I get it. It seems like we got to the same place. That time in your life when you just have to dip and do your own thing. Boy, do I wish I could see him play live again. This album kind of saved my life.
Hope you are still doing well dude, this album has helped me through some hard times also. Much love
fuck yea man, this was my go to album when using but its keeping me going in sobriety too ! 22 days clean today!!!
Hope you're still clean homie. I listen to the Big Swamp Gospel album when I'm trying to quit, it's relatable feeling like there's a battle of good evil within you and something you've done has left you forsaken by a god you probably don't believe in.
A poor strugglin mans album right here. 10/10, would wash a dish everyday

Thanks Pat, your music changed my life. PURE SOUL.
This is the best.
There's lots of other music that's good too, but this the best.
Its a difference between passive and active ownership. Proudhon didnt mean property in the sense of your possesions. He was talking about property in the form of owning something someone else uses and then using that to get money out of them through debt or other forms of enforcing ownership. This includes land lords, factory owners, banks, and other explotative institutions and people.
Thanks for this

albinorainbow37 I think your missing the point of this music. Take Johnny Hobo's words as caution against overuse of drugs, booze, and a life on the road. All his lyrics are basically about how it's not exactly the most healthy or fulfilling lifestyle.

Thanks, I'm surprised anyone still listens anybody on RUclips. Don't get the wrong idea and think I'm some closed minded person, because I don't care if you get stoned or get drunk, or skip school even. Been a fan of folk punk for about a year and this album just speaks on a different level to me right now. I'm not born to quit smoking yet and I don't know when that day will come.
A punk rock song won't ever change the world, but I could tell you about a couple that changed me.
punk changes life's me and you both
People change the world, don't be ignorant.
Music shapes the people. Don't be a bitch, just appreciate some good art and pass on the positive messages. There's no place for negativity in such a fragile world, anyone who is apparently so educated as you should be able to recognize that. Music changed me, now I have the power to change the world. There's not only one side to an equation. Maybe think about letting this music change you into a more empathetic person, then the world might actually have more of a chance.
Sara your right plus we all need music the people who don't like people I don't think they are people. They are aliens.
