@@georgeguiney3454 From here to utopia is a finished song of pats that appears on a ramshackle glory album "living the dream" when he's in full fledged recovery, the words are heshed out here but because he's not abstaining maybe in his head the songs unfinished, thats just speculation. Its just surreal to hear that song that REALLY helped me in recovery on how its profound outcome came from such a shitty place. I always thought he was a lot better off mentally when he started writing it but imagining pat like i do, I dont know why I wouldve thought that.

@@JumpinJoe It's been a long time, sorry for the late reply. I wish I could say more, but the most I know is that he was always really nice and friendly, but there was always an inescapable sadness about him. There wasn't much anyone has ever had to say about him, I know that he gets really upset if anyone around him is drunk or drinking at all, because he's in recovery; he got really mad at a former friend of mine when they played a show together and she was drinking a 40. Like, he yelled at her, and told her to get the fuck away from him.

This Album reminds me of the time I spent my last of my money to go to France and ended up walking across Spain to the coast meeting all sorts of people from every walk of life, listening to this when I was alone and just looking back at what I was to that point screaming along to the lyrics and not giving a fuck. Sleeping on the streets, I remember one night I was invited into a hostel by a really nice Italian couple who let me sleep on the couch in the foyer when I was sleeping under the cover of the front door to get out of the wind. Woke up getting kicked in the stomach by the owner swearing at me in Spanish and threw my shit outside and threatened to call the policia on me, couldn't leave fast enough. Ah memories.

    • @wtbSID

Khalip h Johnny hobo and the Freight trains and he also was in a project called “Playtime Posse” that wasnt very good. The singer is Pat, AKA Pat the Bunny. He was in Johnny hobo and the freight trains, then Wingnut Dishwashers Union and then Ramshackle Glory. However, during his time in JHatFT and Wingnut, he would play solo but under those bands names

Just discovering Pat's music and I can't help but see the parallels to John K Samson (Weakerthans) -- musically, lyrically, politically, ideologically.. But whereas John K is the chilly Canadian career academic Chomskyan anarchist, this guy is the street-level classical libertarian socialist poet and junkie laureate of mean street, USA.
