@@fvez_ I re-listened and stand corrected, the verse has some more interesting basslines going on, but I think he's just picking around the power chord shapes of the A and F chords in that part and playing with the space. @@No1WillMakeItOutAlive The name of the band was Offset (yes, like the rapper but long before he came around). I took it from the AutoCAD software I used in my drafting class. "Offset" was the most used command. It's also why when we recorded our own album we named the "label" as "blueprint records". We were nothing and quite honestly Thursday wasn't much of anything at the time. Some things never change while others change drastically. lol
We played with Thursday at a venue that was in downtown Nashville. I don't remember the name of the place but it was right next door to a gay and lesbian bookstore (we were from North Alabama and don't remember but someone from the area at the time may be able to help). I remember the store because I went in and bought a pride sticker and put it on our guitarists car just to mess with him. However, his Dad was a preacher and found the sticker the following morning before he could find it himself. Needless to say, our guitarist was a little pissed off at our next practice. Those were great days! lol

Was lucky enough to see Coheed & Cambria, Thursday, & AFI @ the tabernacle in Atlanta.
Came to see AFI, never heard of other 2 bands.. Coheed kicked things off and didn’t disappoint. They way their lightning was I thought they were all over
6’5”. They did not move once they were in position at all. Powerful!
Then came Thursday, I couldn’t understand how these guys created such
an intense energy? Having seen plenty of hardcore shows I know about energy and electricity. I was dumbfounded as they were playing and afterwards waiting for AFI “ how did they create that intensity”?
When I got back home I purchased their albums but even with high end audio set-ups never could come close to capturing that intensity.
    Takeaway= see Thursday live

Good dudes too all of them were actually surprised a metal head like myself was that into them, they gave me some merch and needless to say I showed these dudes a cool night in my home town. Add Alexisonfire's first album and that's me. The Satellite Years and Full Collapse are classics, though.

Bring it back in 2020! 20 years ago had too many pretenders that drowned thursday out. We ready and need it now!

Splintered piece of glass falls, in the seat, gets caught
These broken windows, open locks, reminders of the youth we lost
In trying so hard to look away from you
We followed white lines to the sunset
I crash my car everyday the same way
    Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
    Time runs through our veins.
(it starts and stops and starts and stops again)
We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
    Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
    Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twilight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done
I don't want to feel this way forever
A dead letter marked return to sender
The broken watch you gave me turns into a compass
It's two hands still point to the same time 12:03, our last goodbye
So push the seats back a little further
I can see the headlights coming
So push the seats back a little further
Roll the windows down and take a breath
I can see the headlights coming
They paint the world in red and broken glass
    Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
    Time runs through our veins.
(it starts and stops and starts and stops again)
We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
    Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
    Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twilight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done
I don't want to feel this way forever
A dead letter marked return to sender
The spinning hubcaps set the tempo, for the music of the broken window
The Cameras on and the cameras click
We open up the lens and can't stop
    Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twilight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done
I don't want to feel this way forever
The lights are on and the cameras click
We open up the lens (to broken glass!)
Staring at the setting sun (And it's over!)
No reason to come back again (In a flash!)
The twilight world in blue and white (and I'll never!)
The needle and the damage done (ever understand!)
I don't want to feel this way forever (Understanding!)
(In a Car Crash!) A dead letter marked return to sender (In a Car Crash!)
(In a Crash!) In a Crash!
