One of the greatest emo songs ever written by the greatest emo band. Been probably close to 15 years since I’ve heard this. Best show I ever attended was in San Diego on Halloween with Circa Survive, Thursday and Rise Against. Can’t recall the year.

I fell in love with this band and they demos led me to other bands like Thrice/Coheed and Cambria/ Silverstein Once I was healthy enough I spent the next 10ish years going to shows in Baltimore/DC/Chapel Hill/Norfolk just about every weekend

I will never forget the first time my buddy handed me this album in 8th grade year and was blown away. I'm still listening to them and this album is still amazing at 29 years old now. I've met Geoff a few times and caught a drumstick and a pick at a few shows and even made it on stage for Jet Black in the New Year..... good times
The whole recording was actually incredible for the time. I remember when this album dropped, and there was nothing like it. Though I stopped once their later stuff seemed to get political, cannot deny the quality of this album.
This song reminds me of 2001-2005 Cruising around Bel Air Maryland. I had suffered a Brain injury in 2000 and was still recovering. God these were good times, I saw Thursday whenever they came to DC, Baltimore or Philly. Coheed and Cambria, Thrice and Silverstein were my other Favorites.
I played in a small hardcore band back in the late 90's - early 00's and we opened for these guys in Nashville a time or two (circa 1999). Those were great days! Fuck! I'm old!
@@No1WillMakeItOutAlive The name of the band was Offset (yes, like the rapper but long before he came around). I took it from the AutoCAD software I used in my drafting class. "Offset" was the most used command. It's also why when we recorded our own album we named the "label" as "blueprint records". We were nothing and quite honestly Thursday wasn't much of anything at the time. Some things never change while others change drastically. lol We played with Thursday at a venue that was in downtown Nashville. I don't remember the name of the place but it was right next door to a gay and lesbian bookstore (we were from North Alabama and don't remember but someone from the area at the time may be able to help). I remember the store because I went in and bought a pride sticker and put it on our guitarists car just to mess with him. However, his Dad was a preacher and found the sticker the following morning before he could find it himself. Needless to say, our guitarist was a little pissed off at our next practice. Those were great days! lol Sorry, I never check my message on RUclips or I would've replied to you 3 years ago. I just found this because I wanted to hear the song again.
I'm a straight up metal head, and a professional drummer, I've played in death metal bands and doom metal bands all over the country and parts of Europe, and I can say this without any embarrassment, this band was one of my favorite bands back when this album came out, in fact a club owner, and promoter gave me some tickets to see these guys when they toured this album, I sat down with these dudes and bought them a round of drinks, and a round of smoke. Good dudes too all of them were actually surprised a metal head like myself was that into them, they gave me some merch and needless to say I showed these dudes a cool night in my home town. Good times, i was 23 when this album came out, and a seasoned pro in music and drumming, and these dudes were a breath of fresh air rock wise. Just straight up kickass rock.
Honestly if this song isn't considered an all-time great then we have failed as a society. Car accidents are terrible and tragic. I've been involved in a couple of them, fortunately no one was seriously hurt. But it rattles you. And this song perfectly encapsulates the pain you experience when someone you care about is lost to an accident. It's so goddamn poetic, so full of emotion. It's absolutely perfect in conveying exactly what it wanted to convey.
I fortunately had some rock friends in high school who put me up on great music like Thursday. This song and video instantly grabbed me and never let go. As classic now as it was the very first time. This is one of the best albums ever for me -- not a single bad track, every one flowing cohesively, skillfully, passionately.
Splintered piece of glass falls, in the seat, gets caught These broken windows, open locks, reminders of the youth we lost In trying so hard to look away from you We followed white lines to the sunset I crash my car everyday the same way Time to let this pass (the time it takes, the time it takes to let go) Time runs through our veins. (it starts and stops and starts and stops again) We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time (the time it takes, the time it takes to let go) Time to let this pass (the time it takes, the time it takes to let go) Staring at the setting sun No reason to come back again The twilight world in blue and white The needle and the damage done I don't want to feel this way forever A dead letter marked return to sender The broken watch you gave me turns into a compass It's two hands still point to the same time 12:03, our last goodbye So push the seats back a little further I can see the headlights coming So push the seats back a little further Roll the windows down and take a breath I can see the headlights coming They paint the world in red and broken glass Time to let this pass (the time it takes, the time it takes to let go) Time runs through our veins. (it starts and stops and starts and stops again) We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time (the time it takes, the time it takes to let go) Time to let this pass (the time it takes, the time it takes to let go) Staring at the setting sun No reason to come back again The twilight world in blue and white The needle and the damage done I don't want to feel this way forever A dead letter marked return to sender The spinning hubcaps set the tempo, for the music of the broken window The Cameras on and the cameras click We open up the lens and can't stop Staring at the setting sun No reason to come back again The twilight world in blue and white The needle and the damage done I don't want to feel this way forever The lights are on and the cameras click We open up the lens (to broken glass!) Staring at the setting sun (And it's over!) No reason to come back again (In a flash!) The twilight world in blue and white (and I'll never!) The needle and the damage done (ever understand!) I don't want to feel this way forever (Understanding!) (In a Car Crash!) A dead letter marked return to sender (In a Car Crash!) (In a Crash!) In a Crash!

Full Collapse is by far the best album by Thursday. I mean every single song is soooooooooo good. I mean every last one of them.
Sorry 4 your loss... I pray for everyone! Love you Adam!
I DONT WAAAAAANT TO FEEL THIS WAY FOREVER
I come back to this song every once in a while. I find it crazy how a song can be so dear to people.
I will never forget the first time my buddy handed me this album in 8th grade year and was blown away. I'm still listening to them and this album is still amazing at 29 years old now. I've met Geoff a few times and caught a drumstick and a pick at a few shows and even made it on stage for Jet Black in the New Year..... good times
+Logan Wild I was in 9th grade when this album came out and I am right there with ya man. I was so blow away I made everybody listen to it lol.
krazyhippy Yeah good times
+Logan Wild I'm with you the same thing happened to me. Changed my life.
I know how u feel I'm 27 and I first listened to this album in middle school, I am the killer is the song that hooked me.
Deus Hex fuckin same... I'll be 28 in June... I'm omw home from work as I write this and decided to rehash "full collapse" what a lovely trip home
I am a 35 year old Man, i used to hear this band in my adolescence, so Many memories...
Saosin - I Can Tell There Was an Accident Here Earlier - fades into this song, and it's the perfect transition. (Sorry I DJ for fun)
Grew up in NJ so you know I grew up listening to these guys. I mean hell, this video was recorded during a WSOU presents show
These vocals are phenomenal
Théophile Richart true
Homeboy is tone def too 😂
Zac sawicki how so?
The whole recording was actually incredible for the time. I remember when this album dropped, and there was nothing like it. Though I stopped once their later stuff seemed to get political, cannot deny the quality of this album.
Sike
Absolutely love the drumming in this track and he is one of the best singers in post-hardcore.
This song reminds me of 2001-2005 Cruising around Bel Air Maryland. I had suffered a Brain injury in 2000 and was still recovering. God these were good times, I saw Thursday whenever they came to DC, Baltimore or Philly. Coheed and Cambria, Thrice and Silverstein were my other Favorites.
this is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘🪖
I tatted the Thursday Dove on my arm back when full collapse was released . Never regretted it , this period of music was just something else.
I played in a small hardcore band back in the late 90's - early 00's and we opened for these guys in Nashville a time or two (circa 1999). Those were great days!
Fuck! I'm old!
#thegoodol'days.
What was ur band? Is any of it online? I like finding 90s hc sometimes idk
@@No1WillMakeItOutAlive a band called Liar.
@@itsmysniff4950 only a loser might think its impossible to open for bands. But then again maybe its just your sniff.
Some things never change while others change drastically. lol
We played with Thursday at a venue that was in downtown Nashville. Those were great days! lol
Sorry, I never check my message on RUclips or I would've replied to you 3 years ago.
Used to listen to this 2003 -2005 as a kid , loved it then. You know its art because now its even better and harder
we're lucky we listened to this when it first came out
This is so good but you must hear “City” or “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🏙️🐺🤘🐺🏙️
This is just one of those songs man!!!Just pure musical perfection!!!It hits everything I need it to!!
Two kids I was in school with wrapped a Mustang around a tree 500 ft from our HS. I'll always remember them and this song.
this is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘🪖
Honestly if this song isn't considered an all-time great then we have failed as a society.
Car accidents are terrible and tragic. I've been involved in a couple of them, fortunately no one was seriously hurt. But it rattles you. And this song perfectly encapsulates the pain you experience when someone you care about is lost to an accident. It's so goddamn poetic, so full of emotion. It's absolutely perfect in conveying exactly what it wanted to convey.
I don't want to feel this way forever 😭
This is so good but you must hear “City” or “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🏙️🐺🤘🐺🏙️
I fortunately had some rock friends in high school who put me up on great music like Thursday. This song and video instantly grabbed me and never let go. As classic now as it was the very first time. This is one of the best albums ever for me -- not a single bad track, every one flowing cohesively, skillfully, passionately.
Thursday never gets old
lllDesTroyeRIII wait til Friday and say that honestly...
Splintered piece of glass falls, in the seat, gets caught
These broken windows, open locks, reminders of the youth we lost
In trying so hard to look away from you
We followed white lines to the sunset
I crash my car everyday the same way
Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Time runs through our veins.
(it starts and stops and starts and stops again)
We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twilight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done
I don't want to feel this way forever
A dead letter marked return to sender
The broken watch you gave me turns into a compass
It's two hands still point to the same time 12:03, our last goodbye
So push the seats back a little further
I can see the headlights coming
So push the seats back a little further
Roll the windows down and take a breath
I can see the headlights coming
They paint the world in red and broken glass
Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Time runs through our veins.
(it starts and stops and starts and stops again)
We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twilight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done
I don't want to feel this way forever
A dead letter marked return to sender
The spinning hubcaps set the tempo, for the music of the broken window
The Cameras on and the cameras click
We open up the lens and can't stop
Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twilight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done
I don't want to feel this way forever
The lights are on and the cameras click
We open up the lens (to broken glass!)
Staring at the setting sun (And it's over!)
No reason to come back again (In a flash!)
The twilight world in blue and white (and I'll never!)
The needle and the damage done (ever understand!)
I don't want to feel this way forever (Understanding!)
(In a Car Crash!) A dead letter marked return to sender (In a Car Crash!)
(In a Crash!) In a Crash!
Greatly appreciated
First rule of a Car Crash is you don't talk about it
and the second rule is..
Thanks alot
perfect user name/post combo
this is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘
I just learned the meaning behind the song that has brought me up from some of my darkest places, rest in power to the friend of these amazing humans
36 years old now and this reminds me of when I was 22 again
One year behind but still right there with you.
Much respect yo. This song was before my time but inspired me a ton in a lot of different bands and projects. I'll be happy to be 36 in 8 years lookin back at this track.
Music of my youth. Wish the world was still this way.
Imagine growing up as a teenager/college kid today without this to speak to you. Sad times.
That’s why kids are kinda crazy now no real music with messages like this
Life itself is emo. It is neither dead or alive but just is. We r human spirits having a giant emo experience. Hope that clears things up.
this song is a masterpiece ! love it!!
Thursday was my favorite band back in the day, listening to this gives me chills, I love it.
Still moved by this song 20 years later
I will give this a thumbs up. 23 years ago , it sure went by quick
This is so good but you must hear “City” or “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🏙️🐺🔥🐺🏙️
Im black and im from the hood and i love this song lol don't judge me. And coincidental first time I heard this i was at my brothers house and he died in a car accident 😞 and I'm still heartbroken
Sorry about your brother! I would never judge you for what music you like. In fact, I respect you for listening to music that you’re “not supposed to like”.
@@thedan7 one of my favorite songs of all time and thanks for the condolences man this is Thursday's best song ive heard from them i listen to almost every genre
@ryeonlewis342 you don't have to be a specific color to listen to this music. and I'm so sorry for your loss. and I'm white and I grew up in the hood too and I listen to almost every genre there was as well, and that was because I was taken into foster care for the rest of my life. and you know, you and I aren't so different after all. I'm here for you brother if you need anyone to talk to.
I always thought Thursday was one of the most underrated bands ever, any genre
I still cannot believe this song came out in 2001....If only I knew music when I was seven
I wasn’t even born lol
I went to this emo skate night event in Burbank last night and they played this song. I completely forget about it such a Banger
This is so good but you must hear “City” or “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🤘🐺🏙️
I feel this song is more relevant now than ever. Long live Thursday 🤘🏻
Heavily underrated band
This is so good but you must hear “City” or “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🏙️🐺🤘
This makes me so happy and nostalgic at the same time
Thanks older nephew for showing a 12 year old this, great times with you buddy. Miss the time before 2010
even ten years ago things were this simple... thank god for tunes like this where we can remember the hardships of our high school years. if only the youth of the following generation can only breath and feel like we did... they should be so jealous
I remember hearing about these guys and the used a bunch in middle school. I still come back to both. Truly a blessing to have such beautiful music.
I have a tattoo on my chest dedicated to this band. I'll never get tired of them.
Nothing like listening to Thursday on a Thursday.
18 years later and this smacks harder than ever; lyrically timeless
In my whole life I would NEVER FORGET THIS SONG!$
