It’s crazy that it’s been so long since i discovered this that I’m starting to feel nostalgic about listening to it. This album genuinely means so much to me because of how it changed the way I thought about music, art, and life in general. On sum sentimental type shi fr.
7:02 The sound you make when you finally understand where a meme comes from, and you feel embarrassed for not knowing, because you also feel that you should have known.
When I first heard of Death Grips I thought that what they're doing is horrible and made me worry about the people who listen to that kind of music. Eventually I decided to listen to the Money Store and try to understand why they're doing all of this which I ended up thinking "I don't think they're really trying to be harmful, it feels like they're doing a challenge to make the most aggressive music they can possibly do and they're nailing it"; I found the album surprisingly fun and interesting and ended up listening to this one afterwards and got even more surprised: I'm a big Pink Floyd fan and when I heard the Interstellar Overdrive sample on I Want It I Need It, I couldn't stop laughing as I imagined in my head Syd Barret wearing the drip suit. Yesterday I also listened to the Year of the Snitch and I also liked it, which seems really weird to me I never expected myself to listen to this kind of music but they just feel unique and so out of this world so I can't help but kinda love them.
@@blazoraptor3392 Well obviously it sounds extremely aggressive. I believed their goal was to make the listener aggressive too; I thought if people listen to something like this, what awaits us in the future? But I don't really find that they are some sort of evil group trying to raise a cult or something anymore, I even find that thought I had really silly. Although it is possible I guess that aggressive music could influence someone to get wild, in the end Death Grips isn't responsible, it's that person's fault. They feel like they're just trying to make the most aggressive sounding music they possibly can for the sake of it but somehow they make it fun, that's what made me like them. They're just really weird and as a weirdo myself I can't help but love them (Not that I personally would consider them to be one of my favorite bands or some really important group, but they're still kinda special).
