    Welcome back to the channel. In this video, we try to get an early 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 running. The Ram has been sitting for 4-5 years. We are also doing some maintenance on the 1962 c60. The c60 is built on top of a 2014 chevy 3500 frame. The 2014 sat for nearly 10 years, so while it is still nearly a brand new truck, we are finding issues that HAVE to be addressed. Wiley has been dreaming of building a truck like this since childhood!! The dream is FINALLY becoming a reality. This truck is comprised of a 2014 Chevrolet 3500 dually and a multitude of early 60's c60 and c10 parts. We used the 2014 frame, interior and complete drivetrain. We replaced the 2014 cab with a 1962 Chevy 2ton C60. The hood is from a 60-61 c10. The fenders, grill and bumper are random parts we had lying around. The bed and fenders are custom made from sheet metal.
    Thank you for watching and leaving a heartfelt comment.
    Sincerely,
    Wiley & Jenn

    Shade Tree Mechanic hard at it. If you want to know how old I am I can remember when the gas can was round red and you could fill it for 2 dollars. Love the sound of your truck Wiley now that is a sound I was used too. God Bless from your Canadian friend.

      Well, I can remember that same round red metal gas can could be filled for .39 cents per gallon.

    Been there done that. I hate when that happens, but every car or truck I have ever owned since 79, there is always one caliper that wears more than the others or has a side that sticks. It's always between paydays too.

    • @WorkinWithWiley
      @WorkinWithWiley  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah I have never understood it!! But of course this one sat for almost 6 years. Probably didn't help any LOL

    We must not be to far away from each other. I go by that Sinclair about every other day when I go to my Macomb property. I'm sure it's 9 and 102. You relieve calipers just like I do. I do that BEFORE I pull the caliper off. Also helps when you have bad grooves like you do to get it apart too. I just use a small pry bar instead of a screwdriver. Normally there's a witness hole big enough to get a straight pointed pry bar in there. Lube your caliper pins with White Lithium grease so the caliper can work evenly. One side is stuck and not sliding on the pin. That's how you get uneven wear with the inboard and outboard pads. Normal they can be off a bit, but not that much for sure.

    Wiley, 1) I love that truck. 2) (just a tip) Have you ever tried 50%Acetone and 50% auto transmission fluid as a penetrating oil...It's works as good as most penetrating oils you buy and cheap to make.

    • @WorkinWithWiley
      @WorkinWithWiley  10 месяцев назад

      Never tried that!! but since the truck only has 50,000 miles GM put lock tight on ALL the bolts... don't think they have ever been off. not sure how much it would have helped Thanks I will definitely have to try that formula!!

      Not a bad idea but I would never sell something I couldn't run and guarantee to be good... and I ain't gonna spend the money on this one to hear it run that long.. it just is what it is... I will get about $500 anyway... it may be all in trade but...

    old chevy looking and sounding good. that stuff in the bed is treasures and accessories, I sell a ton of parts from them old dodge trucks. I like that air jack, I bought a couple for the fire dept for rescue. I just tow them but Ive seen a few people drop a fuel pump in top of a 5 gallon bucket lid and run a hose to the fuel rail to run them, probably ethanol gummed up the factory pump after 4 years. them fix it laters are called country boy 401K, lol. those are fun to pull the axle. got to do brakes on my rear soon but they are drum on dual, wish I had some chevy parts to send you but no duallies that new.

      Not sure yet... thinking paperwork will be an issue on this truck. It was Givin to my friend 10 years ago and he never got the title... he drove it that way for 5 or 6 years before he parked it. So I think it will probably just go to the crusher.... but I will be keeping an eye out for you
