Sorry you out of towner folks, but, but you are waaaay wrong calling these Grapes, or whatever. In this case - We Chicagoans call it just plain "Ivey" here, and at Wrigley Field. When you are in Chicago, do as the Romans, I mean CHICAGOANS. IT IS IVEY !! Like when they hit a fly ball into the outfield wall, they don't say: "It's a high fly ball, it might be outta here...no, wait, it's into the GRAPES!!" 😊
Yes!! Definitely Ivy around these parts. If it were grapes at Wrigley, we'd have a purple wall from all the slamming balls. Either that or lots of homemade wine Lol. I never heard them yell "It's into the grapes" either 🤣 .... good one 😂😂😂And as for your move to AZ in the future, remember .... you can take the boy out of Chicago, but you'll never take Chicago out the boy!
When I was a child we lived nearby an Iron Age Gravesite (I live in Sweden). Every late spring a bunch of kids in the area would go there with our families and eat strawberries and ice cream. The gravestones were huge and the ground completely covered with wood anemones. It was a happy place with children playing and laughing. It felt like we were having tea time with our ancestors and I'll never forget it. I believe their souls were happy for it :)
I had an older sister who died as an infant so from a very young age my mother would take me to the cemetery to put flowers on her grave . It was a very large cemetary near the city ( Sydney) so I guess my fascination stemmed from there. It's nice just to walk sometimes and read the names and look at the beautiful stones and statues and wonder about the people and their lives. Thanks Ron, I appreciate all the effort you put in to these videos and that you share this with all of us that have the same interests.
@@fabiolaarauz4439 I havn't in a long time as when we moved interstate (many years later)my mother had my sister removed from that cemetary and reburied with my grandmother, who had passed recently at the time , at a cemetary much further away from the city as she was afraid the grave would be vandalised in our absence.
Kimberly..you’re the ONLY person to say what I’ve said for many years..that there are NO coincidences in life. I learned that lesson in my life very early on. Our lives are supposed to be the way they are. ♥️
G.M. Stevens, at the end, was probably like *”Finally, some light”,* when you removed the vent cover, for a brief instant. LOL. Another awesome and peaceful video. Thank you, Ron.
I agree Ron some things are just so horrible to imagine and too much of that isn’t healthy. It’s why first responders and healthcare workers are often depressed.
Absolutely loved this one, so sad the headstones deteriorated so much. I really like when you do this, these are truly the forgotten. I hope you do more of these Ron.
thanks again ron, so peaceful. You are so respectful. most would walk over graves not caring...Thanks for giving the dead their dignity, as in feel even we are dead we deserve respect and dignity.

The details in some of the older stones must have been incredible when they were pristine. I agree, cemeteries are a place of refuge and rest. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Ron!
Such a beautiful and serene place. I'm glad that you wound up there Ron. No such thing as coincidences. When you mentioned a cemetery as a refuge, I thought immediately of Mt. Auburn cemetery which is right outside of Boston, but you'd never know- one of my favorite places! It's a place to find peace and to take a deep breath 💖💜
I am turning 55 in two weeks and just think about back in the days growing up I was curious about who is buried in all the cemeteries in the area and when I stumbled upon your RUclips channel I found it worth subscribing to. I know some people who have passed away like having their story told.
This is truly a beautiful cemetery! Have 2 friends here. My Daughter is at Montrose cemetery. Lost her at 16 months to SIDS in 1990. She with me and her siblings, just awaiting patiently for her mama! 👼🏻❤️ God bless you and everyone here! Have a wonderful holiday whatever your gig may be! Lisa from Chicago! 🎄🎅🏼❤️
I understand how you feel Ron. I was a memorial councilor for several years and because the older councilors were beyond childbearing years, they thought that I, being a young mother, would be better suited to address all the baby and young people burials. It got to be extremely stressful for me. After the family were finished making arrangements and left, I cried for them and their losses. After a few years of this, I asked to be transferred to making arrangements for older people, which was not granted, so I had to quit. Do yourself a favor and take a break if you need to. We will all understand. It's always such a peaceful walk through the cemetery with you narrating. God Bless, Ron.
Thanks for taking us on this scenic walk in this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL cemetery!! Wishing you and your family a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year!! XXXX 🎄☃️
Cemeteries are a refuge to me too, they are so peaceful and you wonder about the people buried there, whenever I felt down and just wanted to think I’d visit a cemetery and walk around. I have a very bad back now and can’t walk, but maybe about 10 steps and so my cemetery visits are over for me so that’s why I appreciate you so much Ron for these wonderful cemetery visits, thanks so much ❤️
Hi Ron. I am also a person who enjoys walking through a cemetery. Every tombstone has a story that goes with it. No matter the age young or old. I like to believe that someone loved that person that is named on every tombstone. When i walk in a cemetery, i feel like time comes to a stop. And it starts back up once i leave the cemetery. I am 63 years old and i couldn't imagine anyone videoing through a cemetery when i was like 10 or 12 years of age. My how time has changed huh !?!? Take care and God bless Ron. ❤🙏
The metal cross of the Huck mausoleum @2:38 reminds me of a German Iron cross, but it could be a coincidence because there may of not have been room to make it longer on the bottom. Nice to know that you know when to take a break from certain things for your own well being.
I have a deep admiration for the artwork of monuments and headstones; the carvings fill me with awe. For longevity, I really like the zinc “white bronze” monuments; they look the same as when they were made, almost 150 years ago. An excellent walk about! Thank you, and Merry Christmas 🎄
Hi Ron what a beautiful Cemetery full of wander, lovely grave stones, no wonder they show that Cemetery of to the public, the pollution has destroyed some of the graves, they must have cost a fortune at the start., all the best Ron and Thank you. Xxx

I was born in 1957 and growing up in a small town in Pennsylvania my grandmother and one aunt always took us kids up to the cemetery. They did this to keep alive the memory of those who passed before us. Through their stories and memories I feel I have come to know more of who my family is and was Through the years I still like to visit cemeteries far and wide. I find them a place of peace . Thank you Ron for all you do for it is indeed priceless the history and experiences you share.
Cities in the 1800s, early 1900s were crowded. Green space was at a premium. People worked six days a week. On Sundays, hundreds of them went to the cemeteries to have picnics and let their kids play. It was “the place” to go. The first public park system was established in the City of Milwaukee, according to a documentary on their history. The idea caught on like wildfire and inspired federal parks such as Yellowstone.
I love Graceland so much..I have spent so many pleasant hours sitting along the waterside under the weeping willows. I remember the day I had my epiphany while looking at a tiny alabaster headstone with a carved sleeping baby on top..it simply said. ',our baby''...I thought that that loss must be the most severe loss anyone could ever face, and that the ground all around that place must be literally soaked in tears...but then I took a step to the side and saw the graves of the parents that,is why I love graveyards. It gives the big picture. Yes,there is pain in speration, but it is only brief...the baby and it's parents are together now...and will be...forever. ♥️🛐💐
I have always enjoyed walking through cemetaries..It is nice to know that I'm not just an oddball in this regard..I love the peacefulness of a quiet old cemetary...I always loved looking at the various old tombstones...it's fascinating :-)
Ron, when you walked down the mound for the mausoleum at the 30-minute mark, I heard the sound of kids playing. I had hoped what I was hearing was in your video. But I went back to play it again just to see, and I didn't hear it the second time. That was just weird! My two favorite graves were the very first mausoleum you walked up with the name of Huck. That was stunning!! Then the second one I wish I could look inside of was the red mausoleum with the black iron door on the front of it. I didn't see a name over the door, but it was part of that row of mausoleums that you passed. I love it because it's different then all the rest. It stands out. Very cool. What a beautiful cemetery!
Ron I used to take my children to the cemetery to teach them about death and to have respect for the graves. Two of them still like to go and walk in the cemetery as they find it calming but also to look at the gravestones and if they can find out about the person buried there before they died. I still like to go walk about in the cemetery if I can.
I have always been taken to the cemetery to decorate and remember my relatives and I have always taken my kids and grandkids. My parents always encouraged us to appreciate where we came from and celebrate our past along with our future.
Loved this! This video was like the ones early on in your channel. A very serene and calming video. I think after WW2 there was an aversion to visiting cemeteries, due to the death and destruction caused by the war. Just a thought. Thanks Ron,and Merry Christmas to you and your family, and the FOTF family.
Oh thank you so much for this Video Rom. I've been busy all day and finally got to it. My 4th great uncle is buried in Graceland Cemetery. He is buried in the Kinzie Plot. My 4th great uncle was Alexander Wolcott III he was married to John Kinzie's daughter Ellen Marian Kinzie. He was the 1st private physician to set up a practice in Chicago. President James Monroe appointed him Indian Agent at Fort Dearborn. He lived across from Fort Dearborn in the Agency House next to the Kinzie's family home..They called Alexander's house "Cobweb Castle" due to him being a bachelor at the time, he lacked housekeeping skills. That's how his home became known "Cobweb Castle😁 ..His grave is directly in front of John Kinzie's grave. Next to Alexander Wolcott would be 2 of his sons buried next to him. Again thank you so much for this great walk through Graceland Cemetery..Merry Christmas to you and your family Ron, and a safe one 🎄😊
Beautiful Cemetery i love walking through Cemeterys at home in the UK reading the stones say a little prayer. My sister and i went to lay Christmas wreaths on our familys graves at Carlton and Willford hill in Nottingham UK on Monday so tranquil. Looking forward to the Christmas one gang. Much respect Ron.❤🎄🎄💐💐💐💐
Cemeteries and graveyards have different definitions, in a sense.. They are a peaceful place, I love to walk in them as well.. Each person has their own story.. I would always wonder how that person died, at each grave..Enjoy your videos..Christmas Eve, 2021..
From Italy 🇮🇹 Happy holidays Ron! And merry Christmas ✨🎄🎅🏼 stay safe and thanks for the beautiful job that you do with yours videos, you enjoy us all the days; you’re an amazing story teller!
I never knew there were such things as buried mausoleums or crypts that required air vents. I learn something new at each segment I watch. So sad that some of those markers are so badly damaged and unreadable. They are truly The Forgotten. :( I guess the cemetery keeps records of who is where, but still...
Sometimes I feel sad about this..I am the memory keeper..in my family..everytime I went to grandma's house..I would sit on the edge of her chair..and she would tell me about them..her baby brother was killed in the war..I felt like I knew him..and I loved it..I had a friend that did my genealogy..I have my grandma's cedar chest..with quilt tops..dating back..at least a hundred years..I'm the last..today's young aren't interested..I guess it takes up to much time..ppl are to busy..and everything is electronic..but maybe it's just me..Lol
when I visit or move to a new city I check out their Cemeteries because you can learn a lot about the city just by their Cemeteries My two favorite cemeteries are Mount Moriah in Deadwood SD and the Riverside in Denver CO
Greetings Ron!!! (Bet you thought I was going to say ' Good - day??!), My cousin Ruggerio, (Whom was a monumental mason), asserted that Quartz is the most durable stone! it' s stable at earth surface, and is not porous! I wrote this for your stories today Ron. Here we are, all at rest alone Under the turf, in our forever home Some by illness, accident or disaster All gone off to meet our Master Most of us bearing a marble crown upon our head To remind one, that in time, they too will be dead Some of our crowns shinning, some rotten But rest at ease - it doesn't matter, in time, we'll all be forgotten Safe travels. Merry Christmas

Another great one! I love how often you upload a video. I could watch one of your videos every day.... and sometimes I do lol I'm still watching ones I've missed but I know I'll be watching some more than once. You really have peaked my interest in cemeteries. I want to start visiting ones around me. We have a huge one by me ( well, 20 mins away) that's really old. They do a "Dunmore cemetery tour" . Dunmore is the name of the town it's in. I think they have tour guides through it and I believe they dress in what they would wear in the years in the section they are guiding. ( I hope that makes sense lol) it's supposed to be really good. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed new year!
Those old zinc headstones held up better than any of the others if a tree or a branch didn't fall & hit them or were vandalized because then they just broke to pieces.
I've loved walking around in old cemeteries since I was in my young teens, I'd go with my mom and grandmother. I look at the gravestones and wonder about the lives they had and all the history with them. Some cemeteries are fascinating to see. A lot of times when I'm having a bad day, I will go to the cemetery and walk around. It's a peaceful place for me to go when I just need time to myself to think. I enjoyed seeing all the gravestones and monuments in this cemetery Ron, great video. 👍🙂 Stay safe out there Ron. 🙂💖
My mother always told me ....never take anything from a cemetery even if its an old dead looking pot of flowers for someone or you may have to bring something back ( something very precious to you ) .I shudder to think what vandals may have to pay for there lack of respect to the dead
Done that. When it comes to vandals ,I hesitate to think what extra suffering those people will have to suffer when it comes to accepting your own mortality .
When we go to Gunnison Colorado to fish we always go to my home town. Delta Colorado and walk the Cemetery on Garnet Mesa and look for all my family stones which are a lot. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’s to you and yours Shirley! 🎁
Merry Christmas everyone be careful and have a wonderful day 💗
My family is buried there and I think this place is just beautiful.. It takes days to see all the beauty..
I love watching you explore,I can’t get around so I watch you….I’m a new subscriber from Canada…
Happy to have you with us, Marilyn 😃
We will always do these once in a while.
Thank you for a sunny walk. I am not interested in the criminal aspects. I believe all the people are at rest and peace.
Thanks!
Thanks Karen 😊
Hey I like this cemetery it has beautiful monuments
These kind of discovery walks are always interesting.
Merry Christmas Trish!
Great cemetery good to hear you know your limits nothing wrong with taking care of yourself 😉
My dad and aunt (his sister) are berried there. A very old and beautiful place.
It was quite enjoyable just to wander amongst the headstones and just relax. Merry Christmas to you and yours :)

Merry Christmas Lesley!
@@FacesoftheForgotten Merry Christmas to you all. 👋🎄🎄🎅🤶☃️☃️☃️❤
I enjoy all of your videos, but these freestyle type are my favorites! Happy holidays, Ron!
Happy holidays to you Lila!
Appreciate your kind words.
I never knew there were such things as buried mausoleums or crypts that required air vents. I learn something new at each segment I watch. So sad that some of those markers are so badly damaged and unreadable. They are truly The Forgotten. :( I guess the cemetery keeps records of who is where, but still...
Fantastic video today Ron ♥️
Sometimes I feel sad about this..I am the memory keeper..in my family..everytime I went to grandma's house..I would sit on the edge of her chair..and she would tell me about them..her baby brother was killed in the war..I felt like I knew him..and I loved it..I had a friend that did my genealogy..I have my grandma's cedar chest..with quilt tops..dating back..at least a hundred years..I'm the last..today's young aren't interested..I guess it takes up to much time..ppl are to busy..and everything is electronic..but maybe it's just me..Lol
I’ve been researching my family for decades. Have many bins full of documents, photos, items. But, no takers 😞
when I visit or move to a new city I check out their Cemeteries because you can learn a lot about the city just by their Cemeteries My two favorite cemeteries are Mount Moriah in Deadwood SD and the Riverside in Denver CO
My Grandson used to see spirits waving when we drove by a cemetery . He loved them . But he’s out grown that ability
Got my faces of the forgotten shirt today in the mail and it is nice, God bless
Send a picture so Ron can post 😊

Greetings Ron!!! (Bet you thought I was going to say ' Good - day??!), My cousin Ruggerio, (Whom was a monumental mason), asserted that Quartz is the most durable stone! it' s stable at earth surface, and is not porous! Granite is commendable but it depends on it's grade. Bronze would be the only singular alternative. When, as a child in Venice:My Grand Mother Annabella frequently journeyed with me to the Isola di San Michele CemeterioDeath was not regarded a, Taboo like in Pommieland!!, it was a locale to become acquainted with one's own mortality as well as loved ones'predeceased!! it was therapeutic, not fear-filling! Wishing you and your family well-wishes for Xmas and continuing through the new year! Be safe and stay healthy Sir, always in my thoughts. Until later🦋🦋 🦋 ❤️❤️
Thank you for the great note, enjoy the holidays and best wishes to you and yours Annabella
I wrote this for your stories today Ron.
Here we are, all at rest alone
Under the turf, in our forever home
Some by illness, accident or disaster
All gone off to meet our Master
Most of us bearing a marble crown upon our head
To remind one, that in time, they too will be dead
Some of our crowns shinning, some rotten
But rest at ease - it doesn't matter, in time, we'll all be forgotten
Safe travels.
Merry Christmas
nice!
Merry Christmas Dan.
hey Ron never see mausoleums in crematiers here in the UK
Nice place to go to cemetery time out for me
Beautifully made ❣️💯

Where to next? !
You should check out the Virginia City Nevada cemetery. It is amazing!
I think you needed this break. You can't do all the great but emotionally draining things you do. I enjoy each of your walks. Take care of yourself, Merry Christmas Ron & Family
I like to mix it up, but yes, that day was drained...just needed a simple stroll.
Our generation. (I was born in 1960) did not go to cemeteries. Ever. I wouldn’t want to b in one alone. However, I enjoy this series.
Got lovely sematary where I live it's massive never bothered with it before but will definitely check it now when it warm's up after watching FOTF....thanks for that ron..

Another great one! I love how often you upload a video. I could watch one of your videos every day.... and sometimes I do lol
I'm still watching ones I've missed but I know I'll be watching some more than once.
Thanks Mary Beth, merry Christmas to you and yours
1 thing for sure is the people in those cemeteries have already come to terms with their own mortality . we have not yet. Come to terms with ours
MERRY CHRISTMAS RON AND TO YOUR FAMILY! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
꧁♥💙♥꧂ Thanks for the stroll, Ron. ꧁♥💙♥꧂
When we go to Gunnison Colorado to fish we always go to my home town. Delta Colorado and walk the Cemetery on Garnet Mesa and look for all my family stones which are a lot. We even have family in Pea Green Cemetery and Montrose possibly Olathe, and Gunnison all on the Western Slope of Colorado ❣️💯‼️
Merry Christmas to you and your family Ron!!
