Great video Ron and it is impossible to walk on graves in a Cemetery at times. We buried my Husband’s Mother on the December 30, 2020 and right below where her grave is are two people buried, but they do not have a grave marker on their graves. The Gentleman at the Cemetery told us some people do not want Grave Markers on their graves. Keep up the great work you do and have a bless week.
Thank you for doing this. I continue to be amazed at the beautiful works of art that adorn these Graves as markers. When did it go out of fashion to put so much effort and thought into something to mark the final resting place of your loved ones? Personally I've never had the opportunity to see markers of this stature. Here in Oklahoma, the local cemeteries usually have the plain granite or flat metal plates as markers. Probably the most elaborate markers I've seen are the 'Woodman of the world' markers. These markers that you are filming are true works of art and a mostly forgotten practice. Ron, please don't listen to the trolls and their negative comments, unfortunately RUclips is a prime opportunity for unhappy people to try to bring others down. The rest of us are appreciative of what you are doing and we can see how respectful you are of the Graves. Please continue providing us with your videos and stories. Again, thank you.
Really enjoying this. As an aside, my mother (1908-1984) absolutely loathed grave photos; why, I don't know; she had some rather peculiar ideas. I myself find them fascinating. They prove that a person actually existed - a person who has the right to be recognized if not remembered by the living who knew them! They provide a little insight as to who that person was. I'll never understand why Mama was so against grave photos.
I guess you grew up near a graveyard I think I heard you say. So did I, and I had to walk over a little walking bridge across a river and out through all the graves of my ancestors in northern Ohio when I walked to school every morning. I spent a lot of time playing in and around the river and that graveyard, hiding among the graves and such. Never did see a single spirit but it always felt peaceful there. There was a big crypt built right on the riverbank that you could go into, the stone door was open, but it was spooky and damp.
Do not let negative comments deter you from your quest of compassion. If you clean and put flowers on some graves for their souls. Keep doing what you are doing!! Such a drive fot the forgotten! Hugs
I think nothing of walking round my own church yard here in England, reading names , seeing whole families and all of there infant children... and reading inscriptions...... hello friend stand and stare as once I was you , u will be me , prepare for death and follow me .... I mean I’m totally fascinated... it’s kept me grounded ... I think it’s a heathy fascination, I’ve never took drugs etc etc and I love the dead because I have so many family and friends there .... ❤️be grateful for everyday and never be to mad at anyone ❤️
Great tour. The pictures make the people come alive to me. You could write a story for each person based on their clothing and facial expressions. I bet most of the Italians and Irish born in the late 1800s were immigrants.
Al Capone has been seen standing next to his grave there? I'm 52 w awful memory. Also thank you for telling us what the headstones are made of. Its very interesting. Thank you
I do have to say this is one beautiful cemetery. Very nice stone work on the head stones. It's very interesting looking in some of the mausoleums to see what items are in there. There's an old cemetery in Long Grove on Robert Parker Coffin Rd next to the church. Very old head stones. Take care.
I would love to know some of their stories. Some of these monuments cost thousands of dollars. Would be interesting to know what they did for a living. All my relatives 50-200 years ago, were dirt poor and some couldn’t afford a grave.
I know exactly where you are at. On the other side of that building in the entrance (there is sort of a hill ,that's where I usually park) where you were in the beginning of the video are some cool pictures on graves. They have some after death photos on their graves (sometimes that was the only picture that would of been ever taken of them). You can tell they are deceased and their eyes are still open . It was common back in the day to have your eyes open during the funeral/wake. I was told by a cemetery worker , in the 80's they put people who died of AIDS in that part of the cemetery because it was the older part of the cemetery and back then they weren't sure if the AIDS virus can be contracted even after the person died. So they put them there cause it's less foot traffic . I believe he is somewhat correct because the person we visit did die of AIDS in 1986. The graves all have 1986 as the death dates and their in the isle between the older graves .
@@FacesoftheForgotten I'm going to see where my family member is buried. I know it by heart but never paid attention to the actually numbers. It's in her area where she is buried.
Mount Carmel every week or so sounds great! BTW: Don’t do stone rubbings with paper & pencil! Extremely hard on those old, fragile stones. Look it up. Thanks for the cool videos...love them!
Right on Meredith. Also, I don't think we should be trying to make repairs. These stones and portraits are PRICELESS, it should be done by someone who is an expert...like what adhesives are flexible and not brittle. DO NOT USE LIQUID NAILS.
Stepping on a grave is not being disrespectful if anyone is respectful its you I kneel on my mother's grave in front of her headstone the disrespect comes from the vandalism and litter people throw down on the ground stealing flowers off people's graves Someone stole flowers from my mother's grave that is disrespectful and wrong you keep doing what you are doing you are keeping these people's memories alive God bless you 🙏

@@FacesoftheForgotten my grandparents are across the street at Queen of Heaven. Did you read about the Virgin Mary visiting that cemetery (Queen of Heaven?). It’s an awesome read, look it up!!!
If you get the opportunity to travel about eight hours west, I would suggest checking out Omaha's Forest Lawn Cemetery which was established in 1885. I go there for birding. It can be hit or miss, but will sometimes be conducive for winter finches during the colder months.
Howdy. There is an information kiosk at the center entrance of the Masoleum at Queen of Heaven Cemetery across the street. You can enter any name for either Mt. Carmel or Queen of Heaven and it will give you the gravesite location and much more info regarding the deceased. Carry on.
Thank you for continuing with Mount Carmel People need to realize that there are also unmarked graves, deceased that are not accounted for. There is a mall in my city that is built over an old 1830’s cemetery I love your videos. Don’t let naysayers with no common sense bother you. Sheesh

I mean I’m totally fascinated... it’s kept me grounded ... I think it’s a heathy fascination, I’ve never took drugs etc etc and I love the dead because I have so many family and friends there .... ❤️be grateful for everyday and never be to mad at anyone ❤️
SIR...you are very Kind
And Respectful, for that I am your

Great Job always 👏👏
lots of love to you and your
Family❤️❤️❤️❤️
For somebody that's not Italian you do a good job with the names.
Yes I do enjoy your checking out these different Cemeteries. They are fanciateing.
Take care.
I know it well, I live nearby. OLD white Church by the bridge, to the west of the bridge up the hill.
VERY old
@@FacesoftheForgotten You are correct. I am not far either.
I was just watching another video of yours and in pops this ☝️ Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
I would love to know some of their stories. Some of these monuments cost thousands of dollars. Would be interesting to know what they did for a living. All my relatives 50-200 years ago, were dirt poor and some couldn’t afford a grave.
THAT is the question I ask over and over, always...
@@FacesoftheForgotten I was under the impression it was hard times, but I guess not in everyone’s world.
@Martha Fogelin How true. They had tough times for sure. And I pray this virus leaves us soon! I lost 2 more friends to Covid today. Scary time.
@Martha Fogelin I am so very sorry Martha. You are right. No one should die alone. My condolences on the loss of your brother. 🙏🏻
The graves all have 1986 as the death dates and their in the isle between the older graves .
where exactly?? I didn't see them, I would like to go back and look...video. let me know!!
@@FacesoftheForgotten I'm going to see where my family member is buried. I know it by heart but never paid attention to the actually numbers. It's in her area where she is buried.
@@jossiesoto6961 - cool, thank you so much, send it on Instagram. Then I will go over there for sure and get you video!!
Wonderfully done!
Great video. Interesting content. I always wanted to check out Mount Carmel Cemetery. Im a southsider
Awesome videos. Again you RAWK. Thank you for these. Know need to explain anything. Your very respectful.
it's history of the past love this stuff
It is fine to gently step on graves in order to photograph them. Big mowers go over them throughout the year.
I swear these people have come back as other persons because I have seen younger versions of them alive and in other decades....
I like this cemetery.
Really appreciate your videos, my blessings to yous all 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹🌹🌹🌹💕💕🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹🌹💕
Would love it if you did the cemetery all the time
Mount Carmel every week or so sounds great!
@@FacesoftheForgotten I get the reference. Agreed!
Great Video. You also showed my Great Grandparents monument Rocco Family
Thank You
Rocco family... could have been Spanish flu, I have an ancestor that died in 1922 from Spanish flu
Stepping on a grave is not being disrespectful if anyone is respectful its you I kneel on my mother's grave in front of her headstone the disrespect comes from the vandalism and litter people throw down on the ground stealing flowers off people's graves Someone stole flowers from my mother's grave that is disrespectful and wrong you keep doing what you are doing you are keeping these people's memories alive God bless you 🙏
I’m serious as a heart attack, You need to contact the history channel and a few others. Netflix and all the streaming services. That’s how “American Pickers” got started. He was turned down but was persistent. Now he’s a multimillionaire. You could do it. Remember me if it hits. 😂
Thanks, I will bide my time AND GET BETTER FIRST. I still need improvement...but I like the idea!!!!
@@FacesoftheForgotten my grandparents are across the street at Queen of Heaven. Did you read about the Virgin Mary visiting that cemetery (Queen of Heaven?). It’s an awesome read, look it up!!!
We would all love to see you on TV you are an amazing human being that doesn'that does a great service
If you go by what viewers want to see more of, I would like you to do one with just looking in on the mosuliums[sic]
I’m so interested in them as well Annette
The Italian graves more often have photos on their grave markers.
There my favorites so beautiful ❤️
I like pictures of the departed on their markers .
I love looking at the old pictures🙂🌺
I Love Mount Carmel videos!!
I’ve got three more episodes coming over the next month that were shot last fall!! 😀
@@FacesoftheForgotten Cool 💝💝💝
Yay, new video! Start listening around the 22:39 and tell me what you hear. This channel is great.
I did go back and listen...just the background noise...but earlier the crows. Is that what you were hearing?
@@FacesoftheForgotten I thought I heard someone say "ha ha ha"
Really! I’m a funeral director and step on graves all the time, people get a life leave him alone.
Really they need to
👏👏👏👏👏👏yes!
Leave Him Alone...
He is doing his Best!👏
I did small little vlogs from there and can't wait to get back and I'd love to explore queen of heaven too!!
Carry on.
Thank you for continuing with Mount Carmel
People need to realize that there are also unmarked graves, deceased that are not accounted for. There is a mall in my city that is built over an old 1830’s cemetery
I love your videos. Don’t let naysayers with no common sense bother you. Sheesh
thank you Michele!
Very interesting urban cemetery. For a different type of historical cemetery, check out Sidestep Adventures. They do rural Georgia abandoned church and family cemeteries being swallowed up by nature. Fascinating!
Kay - I watch Sidestep Adventures as well ,, really is fascinating .. I especially like the few he has found buried so deep into the woods , that people who live close didn't even know of them .. I suppose one day we will all be forgotten ,,, That's OK , the Lord remembers who and where we are .. Have a wonderful day Miss Kay !
@@jeffwarren6906 Thank you so much.
Yes, thank you .
Really enjoy your presentation!
