The PS2 was always graphically underpowered. However, it was the most popular system of all time. See this was when it was worth it to goto next gen. The differences between PS3 and PS4 are noticeable, but not severely drastic *cough Watch Dogs*. The difference between PS2 and PS3 capabilities was staggering. This here would have been enough to ditch the PS2 for a PS3. Yet in 2015, I'm still not convinced why I should set $500 aside for a new system that produces similar results to last generation consoles.

For one, the PS3 came with an HDD, BlueRay player, Internet connectivity built in, PSN, HDMI, and graphics which leapfrogged the capabilities of the PS2 in 2006-2008. But I argue that the PS4 offered only better graphics and software over the PS3 (similar to the difference between a 747 and a Concorde airplane). As for the PS4 pro, it's the same logic as I mentioned with the PS3->Ps4, slightly better hardware to keep up with current trends. As to where I said "why should I drop 500 for a new system that produces similar results", I realize that when I said this, devs were still making games for both PS3 and PS4, which often handicapped the game's technical prowess for the sake of sales. In 2015 it was not worth 500 for a PS4 if someone already owned a PS3 because of the multiplatform support. Perhaps when I wrote this, I had a bit of nostalgia with my PS3 and the great memories with it and my friends, but I agree with 2015 me.
ps2 has really great graphics actually.if you look at ps2 games from 2004 to 2006.you can see the full capacity of ps2.but after 2006 they dont put effort into ps2 anymore...
SpyceySalad idk, not sure if they are using blend shapes for the rigs in PS2, if it even supported it. It's not all about lazy developers. You probably don't know what blend shapes are unless you're a character rigger (putting skeleton on characters) ((what is done before an animator does his animating))

do some research, and give tell them everything that is good on this console. Eg: blu-ray player, the storage space, the graphics, the fact that you can save songs, videos and photograps and that ps2 games no longer come out. Good luck :)
fucking awesum but sometimes in games because they try to put soo much good graphics and looks and stuff, remember this only some games most games dont do this ,but as i was saying they forget to put the story in and the game might be really short or just not good but for games lik uncharted 2, infamous, killzone, easports games, and others do a really great job i own every console sony has and the ps3 definitely owns them all, hope it helped
