    i can't lie Marbury was one of the best PG in the league in his prime. i still hate him though. if he made better decisions he could of been one of the best to play.

  • @jameslovekobe
    @jameslovekobe 8 лет назад +7

    In my opinion, Marbury by far has the best body and skills combined for a PG, he is unbelievably strong and athletic, has one of the best ball handling skills in NBA HISTORY, able to score easily inside and outside, he just matured so late in his career, what a pity. If I play NBA 2K for all time NBA draft and I need a PG, I'll go Marbury in front of Magic, Zeke, AI, CP3, Rose, Westbook, Curry and everybody else.

    Contrary to popular and rather ignorant belief, Stephon was never a ballhog. He averaged 8-9 assists per game. He led the league in assists one year I believe. The guy had a lot of talent. Quite frankly, I don't know how Marbury ended up in the situation he's in right now. People say attitude, but attitude in the NBA doesn't usually result in this. O_O

  • @joekiddlouischama
    @joekiddlouischama 12 лет назад +1

    Marbury indeed led the NBA in total assists one year (719 in '03-'04), although he never led in assists per game or averaged as many as 9.0 assists per contest over the course of a season (he reached 8.9 twice). Certainly, he constituted a good passer with above-average set-up skills and court awareness.
    On the other hand, Marbury's assist averages can also be explained to a certain extent by him dominating the ball on a bunch of mediocre rosters that he generally could not elevate.

    he meant New York is known for leaders, politics, and big time point guards.

  • @joekiddlouischama

    When Marbury was in his prime, the point guard position was in a weak phase.

    Stephon was in the trade for Kidd when Kidd was getting charged with domestic assault. Stephon then got traded by the Suns because of his DUI.

  • @icefrappe
    @icefrappe 14 лет назад

    potapenko was not really a bust.
    the guy lasted long enough in the league and is pretty much what you can ask for from that draft position.

      Terry S but I heard on the draft they could have took Marbury one and he was in the debate when they found out Philly was taking a PG and then camby was suppose to go to 2-3 and he was the best player to many as he was a Player of the year and cal said he should be one and mock draft had the same order iverson camby and Rahim tho

    The irony is that even Marbury constituted a significantly better passer than Westbrook.
    Westbrook is probably even more athletic, though.
    But, yeah, there numbers are pretty similar.

    • @jessier.4237

      Just check out old footage of Marbury shooting a 3. He probably jumped 30 inches off the ground. He's so under rated to me.

    It's funny...I bet Marbury don't even think about this point back then in his life these days.
    Reminds me of the interview with Wu-tang at the end of the track of their first major hit "C.R.E.A.M." when they were talkin about not sellin out to doing RnB/rap colabs and keepin the Wu brand alive and in the "family" forever for their children and shit. That was '93....look at em now.
    Starbury's become a straight bastard.
