    I love 90s basketball.

    • @80sports20
      @80sports20 2 года назад +3

      Me too! A friend and I were discussing what was different about 90's basketball. We came up with 2 main things; 1) the player's technique was much more crisp and fundamental. Players had much better dribbling, shooting form, passing, and overall basketball IQ. It made the game much better to watch. 2) There were 5 distinct positions (PG, SG, F, PF, C) all playing in harmony with different roles. It made the game much more artistic. Dunks had to be earned, and they looked much nicer. Nowadays, it's more like streetball. Everyone is a hybrid player, there's a lot less strategic game play. There's lots of dunks, but they aren't special because they happen so frequently. The perfect combination of skill and athleticism that you had in the 90's is no longer there. There's lots of athleticism now, but the game isn't as esthetically pleasing.

    I used to love watching A.I and Marbury go at it. Great rivalry. Iverson was better (obviously) but Stephon always gave him a run for his money. Only flaw I see in Marbury was his left hand never fully developed. Aside from that, great playmaker, nice handles, quick on his feet. Iverson, also a good playmaker (when he wanted to be), handles were sick, impossible to guard one on one, lightning fast, great scorer. During the mid-late 90s the nba was the ish.

      True. He did put on a bit of muscle later on in his career. I always admired the way he took care of himself off the court. Baron Davis was also pretty stocky and well built for a PG. Tiny Archibald led the league in assist and scoring one year. I doubt if anyone will ever do that again. AI is good would have loved to see him really be dedicated to his game while in Memphis. He basically wasn't really interested. No doubt one of the most exciting lil men ever to play the game.

    It's too bad that the Timberwolves management never did what it had to do to keep Marbury & Garnett together, unfortunately that was not to be and they ended up giving the big contract to K.G. which forever split up whatever chemistry they had before was now gone, and so now Marbury would be the odd man out. In the following seasons Stephon would be traded to Phoenix, New Jersey, and Finally the Knicks his home town, however even in the NBA sometimes things just don't turn out the way they should have. Marbury would find a resurgence in his basketball career over in China and start and NBA trend where past or present NBA players that weren't happy about playing over here in the states could go over to China and flourish where they would not only see more playing time they might also get a fat contract to play over their for anxious fans who have never seen an NBA star up close now gets their chance to do so!

    marbury was always really athletic but just couldnt finish much of the time and at the end of the day the most important thing is to put the ball in the basket consistently. they both had chemistry issues but at least ai had the offensive consistency and ability to takeover a game.

    1997? I was 4 years old I became a big allen iverson fan around 99 I remember somewhat of the bulls and jazz playoff series but i was super young anyways I remember my jerseys I had of Allen Iverson, Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett,Micheal Jordan, ShaQ, T-Mac, Webber It was so cool to keep up with all those teams really I grew up watching the Nba 98to now still a fan and now I'm a Knicks fan =D

      HAHAHAH Knicks suck LOSER. They sucked in the 90's too, poor patrick ewing had to get his ass kicked day in and day out by Jordan, and then when he left and had his chance at a title he let Hakeem take it away from him HAHAHAHAH LOSER.

    • @rlystupidcomments
      @rlystupidcomments 10 лет назад

      Connor Baskett HAHAHAH You actually believe a lazy no defense playing Melo is going to bring a championship to NY?? You're delusional. You poor pathetic Knick fans hahahaha must be sad rooting for a team that's done nothing but fail for about 40 years! Hahaha and choking on a layup is even more pathetic. Also no I wasn't in the NBA I chose a different career path that I excel in. I've received many prestigious honors in my line of work. Whereas Ewing is a ringless LOSER. I've called him a loser in person many times actually, watching him go against my Chicago Bulls in the 90's. But let's face it, everyone was ridiculing Fatrick Ewing back in those days. Impersonating a gorilla was about the only thing he could do, that and LOSING. HAHAHAHAHAH LOSER.

    • @rlystupidcomments
      @rlystupidcomments 10 лет назад

      Connor Baskett Awww you poor poor idiot. Delusional Knicks fans. I'm not quite sure which statement is more ludacris. You ACTUALLY believing that Melo plays good defense(Actually I can believe that because you're no doubt a total imbecile) or already declaring D-Fish a good coach when he hasn't even coached ONE NBA GAME. Carmelo is going to doom your pathetic franchise to mediocrity for a very long time! HAHAHAHA. Your loser team didn't even make it into the playoffs in this years pathetic WEAK EAST. Your team had a 37-45 record. HAHAHA LOSER. Also Paying Melo 125 million doesn't sound very brilliant to me, or anyone with a normal functional brain for that matter. As for Ewing he will ALWAYS be a LOSER. Chicago owned him and the knicks asses. I'll enjoy laughing at you when the Knicks suck this year. Melo has no winning mentality what so ever. Maybe that's why he fits in so well in NY. Nothing but a bunch of LOSERS. You probably won't even get to live to see your team win another Championship. More than likely you probably weren't even alive to see them Win in the 70's. You sound like some dumb teen for that matter. HAHAHAHAHA Have a good day LOSER.

      OK , I don't know what's the big problem being a Knicks fan . I don't see people making fun of Celtics and kings . And Chicago losing in the first round .
