I grew up in Pakistan and always got a one sided opinion of what actually happened with the fate of Kashmir post partition. I lived through the India - Pakistan war of 1965, it was fought over Kashmir. I was only 9 years old, it was terribly traumatic. Once again, Ms. Sharma, thank you for your great insight, I continue to be impressed.

Sardar Patel wanted to handle Kashmir, but he was also involved in princely state of Hyderabad around that time. He had already liberated 550 princely states but Nehru being Nehru, didn't like giving Sardar Patel the due importance, so decided to bungle through J&K himself. Nehru only liked to surround himself with 'yes' men and never listened to a single counsel of Sardar Patel or even his cabinet. Nehru let China capture a part of Himalayas, allowed China to win the 1962 war by supplying Indian army with no weapons and pushed J&K issue to UN, despite strong opposition from Sardar Patel and his cabinet ministers. All of these facts can be verified.

Blunders created by Nehru to our nation INDIA is countless, to which Indians are suffering even after 70+ years of independence. Biased. One simple example of biasness can be seen when she said military of India was superior to Pakistan's in 1947. Not completely true. Pakistan had the same British trained army, and both countries were poor. Even the 1965 was was inconclusive and India had to do a pact in Tashkent. It was only by 1970s that India was more confident, that too with the help of international diplomacy for genocide and Mukti Bahini.

I grew up in Pakistan and always got a one sided opinion of what actually happened with the fate of Kashmir post partition. I lived through the India - Pakistan war of 1965, it was fought over Kashmir. I was only 9 years old, it was terribly traumatic. Deputy PM Sardar Patel was asked to take a decision and he immediately landed the troops there and he who saved Kashmir. Patel instructed the army to recapture the entire Kashmir. But Nehru rushed back and stopped the army. When the Congressmen asked Patel what happened. A furious Patel told them to talk to the Pandit.

What correction did he make ? Please listen to what K Pandits have to say. Don't be fooled by the dramas of removal of Article 370. Ground reality is totally opposite. And Modi is not stupid like Nehru. So we know his intentions very well.

Blunders created by Nehru to our nation INDIA is countless, to which Indians are suffering even after 70+ years of independence. Unfortunate thing is most of the us don't even know about these details. No school or college history text books give this information. It has been almost 74 years since we got independence but unfortunately we haven't been able to resolve this Kashmir issue.
This dispute has benefited many people both in India and Pakistan, it has helped them to achieve thier so called political objectives.

Kashmir's misery didn't begin with 1947, it had already suffered 6 expduses due to invasions and whatever is happening today is natural consequence of those historical events which shouldn't be surprising.
