TX2K23 is upon us, which means the fastest street cars from around the United States have gathered to compete for records, trophies, and of course - bragging rights! Last year, we saw an unprecedented amount of wrecks, most of which were Supercars. This year seems to be taking a similar route, however we can't take away from the insane level of cars that this event brings - there's no other event in the world like it.

@@905byrdmanx it's not so much the mustang, as it is the Ford rear ends. Some of em you can't fully turn off traction control even though it may seem like it, so alot of crashes are do to the rear end doing its own thing at all the wrong times. Not always the case, but it has a lot to do with it.
@@georgetaylor9975 yeah on the s550 even though traction control is “off” it will still intervene to some degree. You have to hold the traction control switch for a few seconds to COMPLETELY turn of “Active Trac”… then it’s all on the driver.

My wife, my friend and I went in 2020. We lost out on going to the actual races while there.
@@ptrgr72 we do, but we have not even one dedicated drag strip in the entire country. We have an airport in Venlo of Drachten that is used sometimes for drag racing but thats it. The scene is very small, so for proper drag racing action we went to Texas

This has got to be the very first video I've ever seen that makes the 200MPH club look like yesteryear! Absolutely insane! I still remember 200KMH was fast when I finally reached that back in the 90's!

I mean racing from a dig requires a lot of driving skills as from a stop theirs a lot of g’s and limited to traction to deal with as roll racing they are already got traction and typically easier to keep traction on top end when you don’t have to deal with the hard 60’ so a more top end focused suspension setup. Just a lot safer despite the speed

@Tanner Cox the vast majority of the wrecks at this event happen during the roll racing every year. And I'd say most of those happen at the top end.

How does one win a roll race? is it MPH? or is it who crosses the line first? Or is it time adjusted from when they cross the starting line?
If they are proper at the start it is just mph
@@N__T ……….. wtf kind of racing you doing? Mph only matters in qualifying. Its first to the finish line wins. For example that white viper was slower but crossed the line first
@@JayMac mph is the only thing looked at in qualifying, also if they run too fast for the class they are in it matters during eliminations and being first doesn't win...

Pro Tip: Swap out the winter air for summer air in your tires. It’s lighter because it has less humidity. Lighter air means less rotating mass.
Sounds about right, also swap your oil from winter, it has more moisture in it.
@@thefoodcan I run synthetic oil in the winter, conventional in the summer. More heat means more viscosity
