After Rajiv, the PM were VP Singh, Chandrashekhar, PV Narasimha Rao, then came AB Vajpayee for 13 days and after him came Gowda and Gujral. Then later AB Vajpayee again was PM followed by Manmohan Singh. Rajiv Gandhi died when Chandrashekhar was caretaker PM. After his death, Narasimha Rao was elected the new PM after elections.
Rajiv Gandhi learned to govern at his own leisurely pace at India's cost.
One thing is sure, YOU CANNOT FOOL ANYONE TODAY. And comments are the proof of that. Everyone knows the truth, who were the heroes of India and who weren’t.

To the BJP kids, lemme tell you some history. It was Rajiv who didn't allow Uniform Civil Code when the time was ripe during Shah Bano Case. To divert the hindus he directed to open the Ayodhya temple at Babri. The Sanghis then forgot about UCC and fought over the temple. Such dumb sanghis are that for nearly 35 years they fell in a trap to fight about a temple instead of fighting for Uniform Civil Code.
As if sanghis would have asked for UCC and he would have implemented. For a person who turned shah bano case for appeasement, to imagine he would implement UCC on opposition pressure is childish..

The reason why Rajiv Gandhi opened the temple was because of the emergence of temple issue after Shah Bano legislation under Rajiv Gandhi. Then UP government under ND Tiwari was poised to fall in the coming elections. To manage the fallout, he decided to open the temple. What happened later was something he couldn't even have imagined.
Such is the knowledge and understanding of Congressi spoons that they see even blunders committed by their dynast gods as brilliant strategic moves.

Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi abolished the inheritance tax solely for the purpose of inheriting all his mother's wealth tax-free. On one occasion, he used the navy warship INS Virat to take him and his family on a vacation to the Lakshadweep Islands. The incident became public. Otherwise, he would have continued to use it like his own personal yacht.
President of the Indian National Congress (INC) was to become the first interim Prime Minister of India. When the Congress held its election in 1946, Nehru got no votes (0). Sardar Patel got 12 . Three (3) state committee members abstained. Nehru threatened to leave the INC and to leave politics altogether. The "non-violent dictator", M K Gandhi, intervened and prevailed upon Sardar Patel to withdraw from his position of President of INC, in favor of Nehru. Nehru was not interested in promoting democracy at all. He wanted to establish his own political family dynasty that would rule India forever. Nehru was no statesman. He was a cheap, debased, petty politician who gave himself the nation's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna.

Though this gentleman has lived through all his facts are wrong. After VP and Chandrashekhar came five year stint of Rao,followed by Devegauda and Gujral.
Rajiv was terrible in the economy management leave alone failed accords. He was the one who ran up big IMF/world bank debts by encouraging computer/tv skd kits rather than encouraging industry from parts to finished product. Bureaucrats pushed him for reforms but he didn’t do the reforms. Despite President Venkatraman telling him not to stop reformist budget of Yashwant Sinha he played politics and didn’t allow the budget which went against the national interest. Ultimately Rao had to carry out reforms.
He didn’t encourage internet,mobile telephony, easier forex and removing license raj. All these stopped India from modernising. Reforms of 1991 took care of these. India therefore did well in IT.Rajiv talked of twenty first century but didn’t do anything while leaving behind a huge debt burden.
His assassination shouldn't have happened but he is not the Best PM that India lost. It's Indira Gandhi who is the best PM that India lost. Rajiv Gandhi is not a great politician and he was not in Politics until his Brother died. He came in as Sanjay Gandhi's replacement when Shankaracharya Swami Shri Swaroopanand adviced him to start serving for the Nation. If Sanjay Gandhi would have been alive he would have been a Good PM.
