Guard got hostile because bolloxed gibbed a friendly npc that was alive previously. Gibbing an former alive friendly npc still count as 'friendly kill' and as such witnessed Scientist or Guard will turn you as hostile individual. This does not happen if npc already spawned dead however because it's 'monster_barney_dead'.

The first time I saw these barney hands models +animations was in a very old Black Guard mod gameplay video, they are among my favorite.
Speaking of, we REALLY need LD packs for both Black Guard and Zombie Edition
Edit: Say Bolloxed, can I ask if you'd be willing to try HL1 maps using my mod? Mine allows for headcrabs to take over humans and turn them into monsters, just if you are interested. Hope you can answer.
