- The plaintiff says she paid the defendant, a real estate broker, for an apartment he found for her. However, every time she tried to move in, the landlord provided a bunch of excuses, so the plaintiff is suing for a refund. The defendant insists the plaintiff was the one who wasn’t ready to move in, and she decided she didn’t want the apartment anymore.

The defendant is lying through his teeth. They really scamming people.
The half ripped up carpet and the painters tape all over the walls proves the place was not ready. Then, he said there was only carpet in the bedroom and turned around and said she was concerned about the carpet IN THE LIVING ROOM. Nothing was done and the Defendant's shady answers are suspect. He can't answer a question without trailing off half way through his sentences. No wonder he didn't want his last name mentioned.
He needs to pay up for lying.

I went through this same thing 🤦🏽♀️ the landlord told me I had to pay security and last month rent in order for him to hold it but it wasn’t ready yet so because I was in the shelter with my 1 yo I paid mind you I worked extra hours and all to save up this money and paid him, he kept telling me it’s not ready section 8 even went out and it wasn’t ready eventually it was done and section 8 passed the inspection for me to move in and he then refused to give me the keys saying section 8 ain’t pay the rent yet so I asked for my money back and he said he didn’t have it, I went and reported him to section 8 and the city he gave me my money back only because he wanted me to drop the complaint 🤦🏽♀️
The defendant is still trying to figure out if he is a broker 🙄 hope she wins her next case. She can use the video from peoples court. He sealed it for her verbally and visually 😊

I saw a short documentary about this show, they said that if the defendant loses,the show pays the plaintiff the money, the defendant doesn't pay anything, that's why the defendants never get upset when when they lose.
Yeah true,but it shows up on their credit reports. So it still affects them( credit score). It’s reported by People’s Court

I saw that too. It is why I hate seeing slimy defendants get away with being disgusting. However for the winning plaintiff, coming to the show is the only way they will collect the judgement.

At first the judge was saying how the floors were all polished, but nothing showed the ACTUAL date the video was taken. No newspaper, no meta data. Let's see the meta data, since he likely used a cell phone!
Living with a Dad who was always late, it taught me to always give yourself a cushion of time. If you're moving in on the 15th, make it so the agreement states it will be ready by the 1st or the 10th. I had to lie and say my college graduation was hours earlier, and he still just made it.
