@@ne-bike€8,000!!!!!!! 😱🤯 That's wayyyyyy too much. What are the specs for that kind of money? Personally, I'm waiting on delivery of a Cube Kathmandu One as my first e-bike workhorse for just under €3.500 but I couldn't justify that kind of money unless I was buying a top brand bakfiets I would need for everyday use. Fools and their money are easily parted.
Hi, of course 8399 euros is a lot of money. I'm also aware that many people simply can't afford it. I don't think these prices are that good either. Even if quality is always used as an argument. In my opinion it should be around the 6000 euro price range. Of course you can also wait a bit and buy used bikes. What would be your price?
@@ne-bike Ok. I'm in Ireland. I bought my previous car for €5,500 when it was less than 7 years old and drove it for 130,000 km over 8.5 years. I could have maintained it for longer. I can right now buy a used e-car for less than the cost of that R&M and it will carry five people and have a range vastly greater. Ok, so comparing cars to bikes in a value for money or cost/benefit comparison may not be appropriate but personally, that's how I look at things. As I said in my comment, I'm waiting on delivery of a Cube Kathmandu for €3,500 with a few upgrades included. I had to wait longer because I'm 2 metres tall so needed the largest frame size available. I consider that a lot of money for what is still just a bicycle with an electric motor because there are other cheaper but also very good options especially if I chose to go with Bafang or Engwe motors. It's going to supplement my existing hybrid bicycle as an all round workhorse and commuter and shopper and an alternative to using my car as much as possible. But I would find over €8,000 for an e-bike much too much no matter how much money I may have. Îf it's intended as a similar all round workhorse like I intend to use my new e-bike for it's still ridiculously overpriced and I could not justify spending that much money. Which for the record, I could afford to pay if I wanted to. But I just could not justify that cost for the modest benefits it may have over something half of the price. Also the thought of locking up something that expensive in a public space and walking away from it for the rest of the day seems to be asking thieves to steal it. I appreciate not everyone will see this as I do. I have a neighbour who spent €12,000 on his new road bike and owns a couple of cheaper bikes too. And I'm aware of one guy who spent over €30,000. This is their passion R&M are great e-bikes. But they are massively overpriced for their additional build quality. What we all really need is for a major manufacturer to build a selection of good quality e-bikes on the scale of a major automobile manufacturer like Volkswagen, Ford or Toyota by the million at affordable prices and with open access to components and parts for easy maintenance and repairs and upgrades for 10, 15, 20 years after manufacture. Perhaps the Chinese will do that for us? Although then Ursula Von Der Leyen would probably impose a 50% tariff tax on them to protect our overpriced small European manufacturers. Sorry if I'm being a little bit cynical. €3,500 is a substantial expense for the average working household. €8,400 is not an affordable price for the average consumer. That bike is an overpriced luxury item.
Hi, it's clear that it's a lot of money for a bicycle. I also understand the comparison of costs and benefits. I also find the prices very high. In the end, it will be a matter of faith. I would also like to have everything as transparent as you do. Unfortunately, it won't be so easy in our time. An alternative would be to buy used. I have already made a video about that. So that one can roughly determine what the bicycle is worth. Just take a look. For my channel, I would like to present all possible items that can be purchased for bicycles. Ultimately, such a bicycle is not an investment. It is a utility item. As long as you have fun on a bicycle, it doesn't matter whether it costs 70 euros or 7000 euros. Wishing you a wonderful time.
