  • Dan spent some time with the NEW Riese and Muller Delite5 at Eurobike 2024, and he was hugely excited by this bike. The bike comes with the Pinion MGU (Motor Gearbox Unit) and has some brilliant upgrades to the Delite.

    One issue with this motor is when the ebike battery is empty, you can't change gear :) That limits it to be ridden next to a plug all the time, no off-road or long journey.

      Wow. That’s a huge oversight. I wouldn’t buy it if that’s true.

      I think it has a system don't let you use all battery. that for the lighting and shifting

      @HoosierBearcat25 Месяц назад

      I don’t think that’s true, pretty sure I’ve seen a video where Pinion state it can still shift quite a few times even after the battery stops powering the motor.

      @@HoosierBearcat25 I know this based on the FAQ part under Tout-Terrain's e-expedition Pamir bike:
      5. Can I also ride the e-bike when the battery is empty?
      Yes, but it is no longer possible to shift gears when the battery is completely empty. The system stops the motor assistance as soon as the battery charge level has reached 5%. This is then only available for the display, lighting and gear changes. In this case, the battery should be recharged as quickly as possible.
      My worry stands. What if I'm stuck middle of nowhere, for example had to extend my tour because the road was closed and it's middle of the night?

      @@peterwong1778 Yes, but only the last 5%. Do you think you will be in a situation that you need the lighting system, display system and changing gear for more than a few hours?

    Notice the belt…they don’t have to split the back frame to get belt on the back cog…brilliant…and keeps belt well hidden…

    I would have preferred a Bosch motor along with the Bosch ABS system in conjunction with the Pinion gearing. Also I prefer the built-in ABUS lock.
    Currently own Riese & Muller Homage GT Rohloff HS with ABS. However, I'm very interested in this new bike and it was told it won't come to the United States until 2026. Plus a non-Class 3 motor is a deal killer and ideally the dual-battery option or one (huge) battery!

    Is all about reducing unsprung weight in rear wheel. No many bikes have this. What is rear wheel max travel?

    R&M wasn't Bosch all the way. The also did Fazua 60.

    Would be very interested how much this eventually retails in UK. The Homage 4 with Rohlhoff and bells and whistles I have looked at came in at a whopping £9.6k. So if it is cheaper than that….Still, it’s the insurance (against theft) and servicing on top that also need factored in.

    I love Riese & Muller but they're not doing themselves any favors with this design, with all lines leading to that big hub.

    Ja schade Schokolade. Vielleicht ist es R&M nicht bekannt, aber es gibt auch Menschen die unter 1,70m groß sind. Wenn ihr also nur für große Menschen Räder bauen wollt, dann müsst ihr auch damit leben, dass andere Hersteller im weit umkämpften Ebike Markt mein Geld bekommen.
