Thank you so much for this clear, concise video! There are so many bloated, 30+ minute videos that have me lost and confused at the end. This is truly a breath of fresh air for a long time Wow player that’s always wanted to give Resto Druid a shot but is easily overwhelmed by too many options.
Thank you! I had the same issues with Vuhdo. It definitely works for some people which is awesome, but it didn't work for me. The raid frames in ElvUI has everything I need!
I'm so happy you enjoyed it! With all the new UI changes coming in Dragonflight, I plan on making an updated healer UI video. I really like the changes they're making! I love to hear that you're gathering the courage to heal! Please let me know if you have any questions :D
really appreciate you breaking it down in digestible chunks, just loaded your profiles and can't wait to get started edit, the plater profile is having issues "couldn't uncompress" - loaded the Jan 7 profile
I'm struggling with my UI at the moment and although I watched this video not too long ago, it didn't really sink in. Now that I have a giant mess on my hands, I'm really happy to see that there are wago links. Thank you so much, I really love your setup.
Thank you! And I'm so sorry to hear that your UI has been struggling a little bit. I really need to update some of my ElvUI raid frame settings (Shadowlands has done something funky with my defensive indicators). I hope the profile link gives you a good start though!
Thanks for the video! Just starting to play resto Druid and it’s like my 5th healer. I never once thought of having defensives be shown in the raid frames instead of OmniCd. Learn something new everyday :P
This is a classic! Thank you. This video will be a great reference when I get into the more advancd parts of my Druidial Journey. Til then I'm all about the fundamentals.
Yes! Your point on weakauras. It really frustrates me when I see weakauras with every button they have on it. I have only important abilities and CDs on there, everything else is either a once per fight cast (lay on hands for example), or is up well before a mechanic calls for it.
Yes! So many Weakaura packs seem like they come with complete spellbooks. Personally, they clutter my screen and can be a little distracting. I only have the spells that I really need reminders for (like efflorescence or lifebloom).
I love your video. I too am Resto Druid and find Vudho frustrating! I may like how you have this set up. seems more simple! and I find sometimes I dispel by accident if I move my mouse over another player to get to someone else.
Thank you so much! I love my current raid frames, but I may switch things up closer to Dragonflight. If I make any changes I'll post the profile to Wago! :)
I just wanted to say thank you, I have used your elv ui profile and I can now heal LFR a lot better (am not very good xD) but I went from green parces to purples and I put it down to your raid frames so thank you.
I just healed as a druid for the first time in 10 years, and now I am trying to decide if I want to keep going. The first thing to sort out is my abysmal UI. I’d mostly be doing dungeons, but I still want to look into getting all the buffs and debuffs from my party visible. The other tip I learned from you is about Plater, that would help a lot if my nameplates were much clearer. Thanks!
That's so exciting! I hope you enjoyed healing on druid :D For a UI, the main things I try to focus on are raid/party frames and a good mouseover addon (my favorite is Clique!). Plater is also one of my all-time favorite addons, but I could get by without it if I absolutely had to.
@@LayriaYT It’s fun! I’ve done some normal dungeons and healed in the PvP vs AI that’s happening this week. I also practiced with the Proving Grounds, that helped me sort out my UI a bit. Plater is awesome, it makes things much easier. Thanks again 😄
That’s the best way to do it sometimes! Just start trying new things and see what you like. Let me know how it turns out! It probably doesn’t help that it’s also prepatch week. I still have many of my addons (some I talk about in this video) disabled because they’re causing some issues. Now is usually a great time to customize your UI since we’re getting ready to head into a new expansion, but I just try to get by during prepatch week when addon developers are trying to make sure everything works.
I don't know how people heal without using Clique. I know lots of healers don't use it, but for me and my Naga mouse, it's a life saver - literally in game lol. The sound for refreshing hots is a great idea. I use Vuhdo and I agree that it is quite hard to get your head around. I actually just import profiles that I like a tweak them from there. Your raid frames look good though.
your videos are amazing! I know its been a while since this video but Id love to learn what you use for key binding for resto druid I am just starting out! and I use the same mouse as you and I feel like all my spells are still so spread out!
Thank you so much! I use Clique for my healing and other mouseover abilities. I am obsessed with Clique - if I could only have one addon it would be this! I made a video about Clique and mouseover healing if you'd like to learn more about it: ruclips.net/video/HR65A1MET0g/видео.html
Very glad to find your channel. Im inclined to go full DPS in SL and I am very disappointed at me to never think about this interaction between clique and misdirection. lol Also going to try this Plater addon. Still didnt find one that fully pleased me.
It also took me awhile to realize I could bind other non-healing spells with Clique! And I love Plater--it's so customizable. I hope you find it helpful!
A lot of great tips in general not just healer on how to make a good UI. Dispells/decurse and use of cd's etc is not only the job of healers so a lot of things are transferable even if you dont play a healer. It would be useful for potential healers (not me) to link to the specific weak auras you use, not just the addon in case someone wants to try it.
That's a great point! A lot of the UI components mentioned here are great for healers, but they're also helpful for other classes and raid roles. I'll definitely update the description to include links to the weakauras I use, but I'd like to revamp some of them first as we head into Shadowlands. In the meantime, I can always send a Wago link if anyone wants to use any of the weakauras shown in the video!
great vid! helps out a lot. i always wondered why people who play mmo's like wow dont use a 12 button mouse. i had a razor naga one for a long time then i got the corsair one. i use it for any game i play
I LOVE my Razer Naga! I still have the older version before they replaced it with the Trinity interchangeable one. A couple of the buttons are sticking though so it might be time for an upgrade :(
@@LayriaYT yeah, my brother has the original naga, but he just ordered the corsair scimitar because the naga is starting to have some issues :( i had a total of 2 nagas myself before i got the scimitar
I completely lucked out and found a really good Resto Druid setup for Vuhdo, otherwise I would have given up if I needed to make it from scratch. I tweaked a few colors and added the Germination Buff tracker, but other than that I'm afraid to touch it. The UI definitely leaves something to be desired. ;)
That's awesome! I've seen some great Vuhdo setups, and I reeeeally tried to give it a chance (I gave it a few weeks), but I couldn't make it work for me. I'm always happy to hear when people find a good setup that works for them though!
Thank you! I just updated the Elv profile import string very recently and it should be working. Are you importing it as a new profile in Elv? Let me know what kind of error you’re running into.
I'm playing classic but this was really helpful and well presented (without annoying music or YO YO How it going Bro BS) :) I play a druid but usually have a priest and warrior around for as well :) Thank you
Thank you so much! I try to get straight to the point without extra music/filler. I started leveling a druid in classic, but I definitely chose the wrong time to start (I had 30 minutes before I had to leave for work LOL). I'll go back and finish leveling it eventually!
I know that vuhdo may seem frustrating at first, but actually as u just said about using addons to show who to dispel (why would u use that if 1 addon can do both) same concept applies to vuhdo, it can track dispels and show all dots on the target and show defenses used by u or others on targets (like the hunter turtle u mentioned) and also it has Clique addon implied in it where u can choose several mouse clicks to combined also with the use of ctrl, shift, alt, and or some or all of the above mixed together to make numerous mouseover heals plus that of an hostile target also. What I mean to say is that maybe vuhdo seems frustrating at first use, but once u understand it, it can be used in literally everything u need in raid ui's and even more, kinda like a 1 stop go to addon if u get what I mean. I believe u need to give it another try :D On the other hand, thank you for ur time for making these videos they are super useful and informative, and I apologize if I got u cluster headache while reading this elongated comment :D
I totally follow what you’re saying! My biggest gripe with Vuhdo is their customization window. I didn’t find it nearly as intuitive as other addons and I reeeeally wish they would just change the layout and make it so much easier to navigate. I’m always happy to hear when people find addons that work for them, though! I’m a creature of habit, so whenever I find a good addon that works for me I stick with it :)
Miss I was having the same issue with blizzard unit frames as a resto druid and I found big debuffs that lets me select upto 6 hots on a target. Give it a go if u dont like elv ui. If not the video is still super helpful =)
Big Debuffs looks great! I think this might be the addon that I thought the developers stopped updating, but according to Curseforge it was updated 4 days ago. This looks like an awesome alternative for anyone who doesn't want to use Vuhdo or ElvUI!
@@LayriaYT I had the same issues with Vuhdo miss. The options menu is total ASS. I have been watching your videos now that i stumbled upon your channel and i must say your content is gold for new and experienced players as it gives them a good knowledge of to do. Coming back to the bigdebuffs addon, its used a lot in pvp even by dps classes as it helps u a lot so they will always keep it up to date. I look forward to seeing more of your uploads in SL. High respect of you getting Mythic Nzoth in april.
I have been maining a Resto/Guardian Druid for the past 2 expansion and love it. I have though of switching over to Resto Sham in Shadowlands but dont know if i want to give up on my Druid. I have always loved to look to ElvUI but it is sooooo complex i keep on installing it and then deleting it when i first log in. Your video sparked my interest to try it again so we will see how it goes, i may be asking for some advice of set up later on lol . Keep up the great work love your videos ; )
You could try both resto shaman and druid in Shadowlands if you want! I always choose one "main alt" in addition to my resto druid. I was also really overwhelmed by Elvui the first time I installed it. It took awhile, but I finally figured out which parts of it I want to use and which parts I can disable. I've found that it's easier to find an Elvui profile on Wago that I can import and start tweaking it so it's more of my own style. It's much easier than starting from scratch!
@@LayriaYT I loaded ElvUI again and im trying to get used to it by running low dungeons with my friends who need gear, currently im a 470 item level and can tank Mythic0 without a healer so it makes for some good practice. I plan on playing my Druid as a main in Shadowlands and going with my Shaman as my main alt but plan on doing enhance. Keep up the good work and great guides.
Very cool your video. I play restoration and am looking for a cleaner interface. You may be able to share your settings and list of addons in the description with us. It would be a great help. Congratulations on the video, it was sensational.
I personally have been using VuhDo for years and find it easy to customize (maybe cause I'm so used to it), but hey, each to their own right ? Epic video, keep it up :D
Thank you so much! And yes, definitely use whatever works for you! Vuhdo and I just did not click at all, but I know plenty of people who prefer it over other addons.
I will most likely be playing a tank, I love my blood DK as I got back into wow a month before BFA ended, after leaving in MoP, so- Things are definitely all new to me! But a few days ago I did successfully tank (and raid lead at that) my first ever ny'alotha so that was a TON of fun for me, got me out of my normally introverted comfort zone and I had a blast, even if I didnt talk to anyone cause it was a bunch of random ppl. Although, I might pick up hunter or warlock, im not entirely sure yet, I just want to play everything tbh
Welcome back to the game! This is such a great time to return since everyone is learning about all the changes in prepatch. It's exciting that you're jumping right back into content and raid leading! I also have the same problem when it comes to wanting to play every class. I try to have one "main alt" and then a few others that I can play casually whenever I have the time.
Just found your guides, very straightforward and helpful, even if you never mention resto shaman =) Question: How much of your keybinding is in Clique and how much in ElvUI?
LOL I also noticed that I hadn't mentioned resto shaman that much! But I just finished leveling my resto shaman last week so I'll be able to provide some more content on them. Resto and elemental have been so much fun so far in Shadowlands! All of my mouseovers are bound through Clique, and then most of the abilities you see on my action bars are keybinds through ElvUI.
Funny you found vuhdo frustrating. I remember trying elvui and instadeleting it cause I found it overwhelming. Most seem to favor elvui over vuhdo though. Maybe I'll give it a try again. Since you respond to sound well, you should check out GTFO addon. Quite awesome for any member in the raid.
For me it really came down to Vuhdo's customization panels. I find ElvUI much easier to navigate and understand. I'm sure once you figure out Vuhdo it's much easier to customize, but I had a hard time getting past the way they lay out their customization options. I don't use GTFO but I know a few who do and I've always heard great things about it!
Thank you! I've always liked the elite and rare dragon portraits, but they're removed if you use any raid frame addons that are not the classic Blizzard frames. There's an addon called ElvUI SimpleRareElite that adds the dragon portraits again (although I haven't gotten it to work yet since prepatch came out).
elvUI Vuhdo > my vuhdo profile replaces my elvui while in raids and large groups took awhile to configure this all but it looks very clean :)] weak auras those are the addons I ran with as a resto druid.
That is tough choice! Resto druid has always been my main healer, but I face the same decision when it comes to choosing healer alts for raid progression. Resto shaman has so many amazing raid cooldowns and mobility. But resto druid and resto shaman healing styles are also very different. Prepatch can be a great time to try out both and then decide which one you like better for Shadowlands!
Thank you so much! This guide is great! I uploaded your elvui and weakauras profiles no problem but when i try plater is says "couldn't uncompress data. cannot import: data imported is invalid"
Any good recommendations on learning how to use Elvui's menus for setting up raid frames? I want to be able to move where it shows rejuv or whether it is a solid color or an actual image of the spell like yours.
This took me SO LONG to figure out (I'm talking years). It has a few steps, so it might be complicated to explain in a comment, but this gave me the idea to make a quick video showing steps on how to do it! For now: Type /ec to get into the ElvUI customization window. On the left side where all the sections are, click Filters (fourth tab up from the bottom). Under the Select Filter dropdown list click on Buff Indicator. On the far right side you'll see another dropdown list called Select Spell. You'll have to go through each spell that you want to track on your raid frames. Start with the first one (for example Rejuvenation), and a whole bunch of options should appear to modify how Rejuvenation looks. There should be a dropdown list called Style--change it to Textured Icon. You can also change the size of the icon by changing the Size Offset (it's a little bar on the far right side next to the Style dropdown list). Let me know if you have any questions or if you think of anything else I should explain in the ElvUI video!
The only other thing I can think of is if you’re using ElvUI and have nameplates enabled. Having nameplates enabled in ElvUI while you’re also using Plater messes them up!
Thanks for this clean ui, can you just tell if you've got the tank + healer CDs showing up on the raidbuff indicator or if you have them on the regular raid buffs. Please and Thanks =]
Both the tank and healer CDs that show up on the frames should be found under Filters, then under Select Filter click on TurtleBuffs and they should all appear in that list. If any are missing you can always add a spell by adding its spell ID (right underneath the dropdown list). I hope this helps!
Do you have an updated export link for the UI in this video that shows your copy? I'm trying to mimic it because it looks so clean. Thanks for the video!
I do! I uploaded my ElvUI profile to Wago here: wago.io/IiPbCxFCN The profile doesn't save everything, so you'll have to make a few minor tweaks here and there (I don't think it saves chat settings), but it has the major stuff!
Ok, I've used Vuhdo for years but i want to be better.... So The biggest clarification i need is ; Does the ElvUI raidframes Automatically give you every "new" debuff and incoming heals etc without manually adding it in? And how hard is it to resize the frames and colors and put the hots in a specific place on each person's tile?
When ElvUI is updated for each raid tier it usually has all of the debuffs you need to look out for as a healer. There was only one time that I recall having to add a debuff and that was on Opulence in the Battle of Dazaralor raid. I wanted to track Thief's Bane which was what all players received if you picked up a jewel, and then that debuff went away when I picked up the Amethyst jewel and healed players and they received Shadow-Touched (prevents shadow damage basically). But that was a really specific scenario and something I wanted to track as a healer, which is probably why those auras weren't automatically included in ElvUI. If you've figured how to set up Vuhdo and it works well for you I would stick with that! My biggest complaint about Vuhdo is their customization panel and how cluttered and spread out it is. ElvUI has A LOT of options, but I'm just happy that its customization window is organized. However, if you want to switch to ElvUI, I go over raid frame customization in this UI Part 2 video: ruclips.net/video/6vwRKWMnUO4/видео.html
@@LayriaYT I really appreciate the work you have put into all of this. I am coming back to WoW after being gone for a few years but still have my keybinds on muscle memory so i know there is some work i need to do to get back to raiding. (huggles)
I want to play a resto druid, just like you... but i always struggle with the weak auras addon... i don't like how it changes EVERYTHING and i dont really know how to deal with that lol
Weakauras can be really confusing the first time you're working with it! Whenever I start playing a new class or role I try to figure out what things I need to be reminded of. wago.io/ has a lot of Weakauras and UI profiles that players post! It's my go-to site to find pre-made Weakauras. I usually end up tweaking them (adding a glow around an icon or adding a sound, things like that). If you have any questions about it definitely let me know! I also have a Discord with a UI text channel in case you want to post a picture of your UI or a particular Weakaura and get some help with it. There are quite a few UI-savvy people there :) discord.gg/yQ7cYGdKQT
nice video, i am thinking of playing druid or pala, in group content healer. Cant really decide. I love aesthetics of paladin and the melee dmg to heal combat style. But the legendaries are kinda meh in shadowlands. Druid on other hand has amazing legendaries, and leveling questing and world quests are amazing as druid thanks to forms and stealth. But raid wise resto is bit worse than pala.
I love both resto druid and holy paladin! I've been swapping between the two for the last two raid tiers. Unless your guild is aiming for top world rankings, resto druid is completely viable in a raid. A lot of groups brought holy paladins in BFA because of the insane damage they can pull, devotion aura damage reduction, and immunities like BOP and Divine Shield. However, holy paladins won't be as mana efficient as they currently are in BFA. I haven't tested holy paladin on beta yet, so I'm not sure how that will affect their damage on raid fights. Currently, Crusader Strike costs 12% of their base mana (used to be 0). Resto druid is looking like it will be the go-to class for m+ healing if that's content you're interested in. The choice is ultimately up to you!
@@LayriaYT well i have 120 druid, as for paladin i will be leveling a brand new one, just waiting for prepatch. Just started on brand new server Argent Dawn EU, transfered my main druid and that is it. Just undecided what to focus on as a first class. I dont have any guild, nor friends really. So will probably just be pugging until i find something or just soloing stuff.
@@losolosonsky Starting on a new server can be exciting. Whenever I need to find a guild for my alts I use the in-game guild finder or the WoW forums to see who's recruiting. There's a lot out there!
Thank you! I made a UI part 2 video that goes over raid frame specifics (including getting the hot icon to show up): ruclips.net/video/6vwRKWMnUO4/видео.html
You should be able to add a sound to every weakaura! It's located in the Actions tabs when you've selected a specific weakaura. The sounds are somewhat customizable--you can choose from the ones on the droplist list that come with Weakauras, or you can import your own sound files (but I haven't personally tried this).
I find it a little humorous that you find vuhdoo unintuitive, but go with weak auras. Then again I use both weak auras and tell me when because I cannot find where to add a sound to weak aura.
Haha, good point! I think a huge part of it is that Weakauras has been really great about updating its interface, and when I used Vuhdo in Legion the interface seemed very outdated and had so many steps to accomplish one little thing. I also had a very buggy experience with it. Weakauras have so many possibilities! I usually import one that’s sort of what I’m looking for, then I’ll tweak it a bit.
One option is Details which basically records damage, healing, deaths, dispels, etc. and should be able to track overhealing. For resto druids, though, our healing style with HoTs will always results in quite a bit of overhealing, especially if you're running with other healers who can just top off players pretty easily (shamans, holy priests, mistweavers). Another option to get an even better breakdown is Warcraftlogs, but either you or someone in your group would need to be logging.
Nice UI and presentation! I'm currently using healbot and elvui but I really want to switch to elvui with clique. Tried it recently but the thing that bothered me was that I am used to click a player frame and apply HOTs while at the same time I am targeting that player. Is there a way to do that with clique? Thanks in advance.
Thank you! Clique eliminates the need to click on players to then apply a hot. Instead, you hover your mouse icon over the player you want to heal and then just apply a hot or another spell to them. You don’t need any extra addons if you want to click the player and apply a hot (just Elvui to get the raid frames appearance)
@@LayriaYT well I need to click and target at the same time! For example I have Rejuvenation on left mouse button! When I click a player frame I need to target that player and put a rejuvenation on him! So that I can follow with another spell from my keyboard bindings! I am used in healing that way for many years now so I can't change that!
Hey, I'm just starting out as a new player in WoW and I am usually a healer. Can I use your UI to start out for resto druid or is it better for me to stick with the default UI and later move on to other UIs?
Welcome to WoW and healing! It’s entirely up to you if you want to use addons for new raid frames or if you want to stick with the classic blizzard frames. During the Legion expansion I tried A LOT of different raid frames. I believe raid frames are the most important part of the UI for healers. The classic blizzard frames are a little customizable, but if you’re playing a resto druid you won’t be able to track all the hots you have on your targets. My suggestion is to try out as many raid frames as you want and figure out which one you like best. Worst case, you can always remove addons and go back to the blizzard UI. This is the link to my Wago page where you can find my ElvUI profile if you want to try it: wago.io/IiPbCxFCN Good luck and let me know if there’s anything I can do to help! :)
@@LayriaYT Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try your UI and see how I like it, thanks for sharing it ^^ Could I perhaps add you on discord or some other platform for questions if you wouldn't mind?
I just made a discord server last week! Haven’t had a chance to make a video announcement about it yet. There’s an ask channel if anything else comes up, and several other healers and mythic raiders who can help in case they’re online and I’m not: discord.gg/yQ7cYGdKQT
Your interface is realy nice. I've tried to coppy yours, but there are some points witch i dont find. Can you pls help me? In special the Raidframe looks different and the Heal-Hots are not like yours. I dont find the Options for it. Sry for my maybe bad english :)
Thank you! Yeah for some reason Elv doesn't save all the settings when you export a profile, just the major settings. I made a UI Part 2 video that goes over ElvUI raid frames and the way that hots show up: ruclips.net/video/6vwRKWMnUO4/видео.html After watching that, let me know if you're still running into some issues and I can try to help!
Hey, nice video ! DO you know how to move the HoT icons on the unit frame , and show the cooldown of it on the icon ? i'd like to get the healing icons on top of the unit frame, from right to left, and the defensiv CD on the bottom left... i cant manage to do it with ElvUi.. thanks !
Thank you! I made a UI Part 2 video that explains how to customize the HoT icons. Under the HoT icon settings (Buff Indicators) you'll see an x-offset and y-offset bar that you can adjust to change the placements of your HoTs. I hope this helps! ruclips.net/video/6vwRKWMnUO4/видео.html
Go into the ElvUI customization window by typin /ec then select the Chat tab on the far left side (fifth one down from the top). When all the customizations for Chat open up, select the Panels tab (it's right next to the one that says General), and there should be a dropdown list towards the bottom called Panel Backdrop. Click on the dropdown list and change it from Hide Both to Left Only. I hope this helps!
@@LayriaYT hahah, so simple..I spent 20 mins clicking and unlocking everything but that. Thanks so much. Love the ui and the video. I subscribed to you channel. Would love to see more resto druid videos from you in the future

Yes! I couldn't upload the profile to Wago so it's here on Pastebin instead: pastebin.com/0F0bmjJr If you don't like the placements of any of the raid cooldown windows you have unlock them and move them around or resize them. I'm also planning on redoing the appearance of them right around when Castle Nathria opens up so I'll post that profile somewhere when it's finished.
Definitely! I uploaded it to Wago here: wago.io/m252yfLwN That pack includes cenarion ward (only shows if you're using that talent), ironbark, efflorescence, lifebloom, swiftmend (which I might turn into an icon for clearcast procs), a tiny clearcast bar on the far right side, and a bar when you receive innervate. If any of the sounds are too loud you can change the sound in Weakauras by going to the Actions tab and changing the sound channel from Master to something else. Then you can adjust the Weakaura sounds in your main WoW sound settings.
I use an addon called Details to track overall damage and healing--it's amazing and can track so much more information than just damage and healing. Definitely recommend!
@@LayriaYT I didnt mean Details, which I use aswell because its great. I meant the dmg/heal numbers that pop up all around the screen. Are those default or from an addon?
I use ElvUI which makes it super easy to change your action bars and move them around! You can download the addon through the WoWUp client or by downloading it manually from their website: www.tukui.org/download.php?ui=elvui
Elvui is still available! The website was overwhelmed last night (possibly still is?) but if you join their discord one of the mods pinned the updated elvui files in the elvui retail support channel: discord.gg/NWr6X7y That’s how I updated mine last night!
@@LayriaYT Sorry for not writting properly, was barely awake :D I meant your elvui profile . I managed to download the elvui addon but when i click on the link you have for your elvui profile it loads but withtout the copy string :D
What pisses me off as a veteran healer that uses Vuhdo and loves resto druid is the lack of Hot icons...but yet healbot can display all of them. Is healbot the good at everything but brilliant at nothing?
Ah, I didn't know that Vuhdo doesn't show all the HoT icons! I've never tried Healbot. ElvUI raid frames is my go-to (except that some of my buff indicators for defensives have kind of gone bonkers since Shadowlands--definitely need to fix it).
Haha, no but people usually make fun of what my keybinds are. I try not to tell people what my interrupt is bound to on my DPS alts (...shift 7), because they picture shift 7 on a keyboard instead :D I'm the same way though; I could not play without my naga!
That's very true. In fact, I didn't use addons until the end of Mists of Pandaria. However, a lot of people enjoy customization options and everyone has different tastes. Addons allow you to change the way your game looks and the way you interact with features in the game. These are just my personal must haves. If you're not a fan of addons you definitely do not have to use any!
If you need all these addons to be able to be a somewhat decent healer then it's a sign the game is just bad and broken. No good or self respecting game should have a class that's literally unplayable without 3rd party program.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Addons are entirely optional and up to each player to decide if that’s how they would like to play a game. No one mentioned that the game is unplayable without addons. At the end of the day, everyone pays to play the game they want to play. It sounds like addons are not for you, which is totally fine! I’m happy to hear you know the kind of game you want to play, and I hope you’ve found one that you enjoy.
Thank you so much for this clear, concise video! There are so many bloated, 30+ minute videos that have me lost and confused at the end. This is truly a breath of fresh air for a long time Wow player that’s always wanted to give Resto Druid a shot but is easily overwhelmed by too many options.
Thank you! I definitely wanted to offer something concise but that still provided enough information. I'm so glad the video was helpful :)
Kinda fed-up with Vu'doh and configuring it to track the debuff I need to track. Your setup looks great, thanks.
Thank you! I had the same issues with Vuhdo. It definitely works for some people which is awesome, but it didn't work for me. The raid frames in ElvUI has everything I need!
As a fresh Resto Druid in SL this has helped me so much to gain a new confidence with this completely new class in heroic! Thank you!
I’m so glad it was helpful! Good luck and have fun in raids! :)
Thank you for the incredibly informative guide! From a young druid, gathering the courage to heal :)
I'm so happy you enjoyed it! With all the new UI changes coming in Dragonflight, I plan on making an updated healer UI video. I really like the changes they're making!
I love to hear that you're gathering the courage to heal! Please let me know if you have any questions :D
really appreciate you breaking it down in digestible chunks, just loaded your profiles and can't wait to get started
edit, the plater profile is having issues "couldn't uncompress" - loaded the Jan 7 profile
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful! I deleted the old Plater Profile export and created a new one here: wago.io/mJB-uJntG
This is perfect Larya, I just started playing as a resto druid and this guide is very welcome. Thanks!
I'm so happy to hear that you're playing resto druid and that this video could help! Good luck with healing, I think you'll really enjoy druid :D
Tracking raid cool downs with exorsus raid tools is gonna help me alot by not overlapping with other healers. Thanks for sharing these.
Exorsus Raid Tools is amazing! It's been in my top favorite addons for a long time now--I believe since the Warlords of Draenor expansion.
I’m so glad it was helpful! I hope you have fun playing druid :)
Badass guide 👍 I'm new to Rdruid for SL and maining it now , I'm going to look into this today !
Thank you! I think you’re going to love resto druid. UI stuff can also be a really fun thing to do, but also easy to go down a UI rabbit hole haha
Really loving it , 10/10 normal castle atm , were going for heroic tonight
I love your video. I too am Resto Druid and find Vudho frustrating!
I may like how you have this set up. seems more simple! and I find sometimes I dispel by accident if I move my mouse over another player to get to someone else.
Thank you so much! I love my current raid frames, but I may switch things up closer to Dragonflight. If I make any changes I'll post the profile to Wago! :)
I just wanted to say thank you, I have used your elv ui profile and I can now heal LFR a lot better (am not very good xD) but I went from green parces to purples and I put it down to your raid frames so thank you.
That's amazing and I'm so happy for you! It took me a long time to get my party/raid frames exactly how I wanted them :)
Never played a healer until today, very helpful, thank you! :)
I’m so happy the video could help! Have fun healing! I think you’ll find that it’s a lot of fun :)
I hope you enjoyed healing on druid :D
For a UI, the main things I try to focus on are raid/party frames and a good mouseover addon (my favorite is Clique!).
Thanks :)
I am still overwhelmed tho, probably just need to start tweaking everything and see what happens.
This channel is full of great info. You got my sub. Keep it up and happy healing!
Thank you so much! :D
I LOVE Clique! If I could only have one addon this would be it. If I ever need to swap raid frames I might try Vuhdo again!
your videos are amazing!
Im inclined to go full DPS in SL and I am very disappointed at me to never think about this interaction between clique and misdirection. lol
Also going to try this Plater addon. Still didnt find one that fully pleased me.
It also took me awhile to realize I could bind other non-healing spells with Clique! And I love Plater--it's so customizable. I hope you find it helpful!
@@LayriaYT I just downloaded it, going to try your profile now. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for this vid! I've been looking for ways to declutter my Resto Druids ui, def going to use some of these tips!
I'm so happy it was helpful :D
great vid! helps out a lot. i always wondered why people who play mmo's like wow dont use a 12 button mouse. i had a razor naga one for a long time then i got the corsair one. i use it for any game i play
Very helpful video, thank you.
Would love some more indepth videos, possible stuff to do with How u set up Weak Auras / Clique. Great Video
Also, its looking like the importing of the ELVui file is not working
Thank you! I just updated the Elv profile import string very recently and it should be working. Are you importing it as a new profile in Elv? Let me know what kind of error you’re running into.
Thank you for sharing the UI I'm digging it.
Your voice is so relaxing. :)
Thank you so much!
I was thinking the same thing....relaxing while being very clear and easy to understand
I believe u need to give it another try :D
On the other hand, thank you for ur time for making these videos they are super useful and informative, and I apologize if I got u cluster headache while reading this elongated comment :D
Thank you for sharing your Elvui profile :)
No problem! I'm glad you like it :D
thanks for this video ! Really helpful !
Thank you! I’m so glad you found it helpful :)
I use healbot for my druid along with Elvui. Mouseovers are nice, personally use only a few.
Ah, I almost forgot about Healbot! I'm always for whatever helps players the most :)
WOW thanks for this video :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
Ive recently started using Clicked over clique. Much nicer layout and you can put the mouseover spells in folders per spec
I just took a look at this addon and it looks super customizable! I'll have to try it out sometime :D
Very cool your video. I play restoration and am looking for a cleaner interface. You may be able to share your settings and list of addons in the description with us. It would be a great help. Congratulations on the video, it was sensational.
Thank you so much! There are links in the description for my UI and for the addons I use, but you can also import my UI here: wago.io/p/Layria_WoW
I'm a fat resto dudu. healbot clicker for life! Fight the power!
Amazing video, more please!!
Thank you so much! I have so many future video ideas, it's just finding the time to film and edit all of them :D
You’re lovely! I’m grabbing Raidframes for sure, Grid just ain’t doin it!
Thank you! UI changes can be exciting, especially when it’s something big like raid frames!
Just found your guides, very straightforward and helpful, even if you never mention resto shaman =)
Question: How much of your keybinding is in Clique and how much in ElvUI?
LOL I also noticed that I hadn't mentioned resto shaman that much! But I just finished leveling my resto shaman last week so I'll be able to provide some more content on them. Resto and elemental have been so much fun so far in Shadowlands! All of my mouseovers are bound through Clique, and then most of the abilities you see on my action bars are keybinds through ElvUI.
Awesome, thanks!
Hi, thanks for this very goog video. But I have one little question. Why have you take a gold dragon for the elite target on the target bar??????
Thank you! I've always liked the elite and rare dragon portraits, but they're removed if you use any raid frame addons that are not the classic Blizzard frames. There's an addon called ElvUI SimpleRareElite that adds the dragon portraits again (although I haven't gotten it to work yet since prepatch came out).
@@LayriaYT really thank you for your help!! You are so awesome!! Good continuation
Awesome video ty
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it :)

elvUI
Vuhdo > my vuhdo profile replaces my elvui while in raids and large groups took awhile to configure this all but it looks very clean :)]
weak auras
those are the addons I ran with as a resto druid.
I’ve seen some great Vuhdo profiles and know people who love it! If I ever need to find a replacement for Elv I would probably try Vuhdo again
YES (had the same xp with vuhdu)
Love the vid - would u mind linking your weak auras?
Thank you! Yes, I have my Weakauras, ElvUI profile, and Plater profile listed on Wago here: wago.io/p/Layria_WoW
thanks. it was helpful
I‘m so glad it could help!
Rdrood or Disc hard to decide. Sound WA are awesome. TY
I'm glad you like the WA sounds! Picking a healer class can be tough. They're all so different, but they're all a lot of fun :)
I'm having the hardest time choosing between resto shaman or resto druid this expansion. I just cannot decide which I enjoy more.
Play both, this expansion is an amazing expansion to maintain several alts
Thank you so much! This guide is great! I uploaded your elvui and weakauras profiles no problem but when i try plater is says "couldn't uncompress data. cannot import: data imported is invalid"
Thank you for letting me know! I exported the profile again and reuploaded it: wago.io/ng3-5-Z3i
Any good recommendations on learning how to use Elvui's menus for setting up raid frames? I want to be able to move where it shows rejuv or whether it is a solid color or an actual image of the spell like yours.
This took me SO LONG to figure out (I'm talking years). It has a few steps, so it might be complicated to explain in a comment, but this gave me the idea to make a quick video showing steps on how to do it! For now:
Type /ec to get into the ElvUI customization window.
Hey Larya, thx for this nice guide! Great work! Do you have some issues with the Addon plater on the Pre-Event? It seems that plater doesn´t work.
Thank you so much! I haven't had any issues with Plater during the prepatch event. Have you tried updating Plater or uninstalling and reinstalling it?
I updeted, i deinstall and reinstall... Nothing worked... I will try to report that issue to the Plater webside, perhaps they can help me
The only other thing I can think of is if you’re using ElvUI and have nameplates enabled. Having nameplates enabled in ElvUI while you’re also using Plater messes them up!
I am using elvui but the nameplates are enabled. Btw thx for your help! Not all youtuber are so friendly :)
thank you so much!! how did you get your raid frame to show the actual icon of the hot??
This took me so long to figure out! I cover it step-by-step in the UI Part 2 video here: ruclips.net/video/6vwRKWMnUO4/видео.html
@@LayriaYT Thank you for replying and it did 👍
Do you have an updated export link for the UI in this video that shows your copy? I'm trying to mimic it because it looks so clean. Thanks for the video!
I do! I uploaded my ElvUI profile to Wago here: wago.io/IiPbCxFCN
The profile doesn't save everything, so you'll have to make a few minor tweaks here and there (I don't think it saves chat settings), but it has the major stuff!
Layria oh wow how did I miss that! Thanks! Playing around with it now :) appreciate you!
Really good content. I will change some things.
Thank you! I’m glad the video has inspired you :)
(huggles)
One day if you play without headset and someone hears you play "since when do you have a farm in your room? is that a bike horn?"
LOL whenever I stream in Discord people always ask what the weakaura sounds mean!
Ok ok - your Plater setup is much nicer than mine. Could I have your profile to base mine on?
Definitely! I have the Plater profile on Wago: wago.io/IjRWcmxCL
@@LayriaYT thank youuuuuu
I been Using Vuhdo since Wrath and along with DBM its the 2 oldest add ons I use lol.
Nice! It's the best thing when you find addons that work for you :D
nice video, i am thinking of playing druid or pala, in group content healer.
Ayy - only play druid, resto mainly, boom for solo pve. maybe guardian if I have my baby in my lap.
Yes! Druid is the best :D
I'm thinking about playing my restro druid come Shadowlands.... I'll have to make sure to check this again once it releases :)
Yay! Resto druid is so much fun, I think you'd really enjoy it :D

Great video. One question though: How do I get the HoT icons on my party frames? I have green dots atm :c

@@LayriaYT Wow you're awesome, thanks! Keep it up!
Im actually interested on sound only weakauras, any clue about where I can find those?
Also, are the sounds customizable?
Layria it is also the reason I prefer Bigwigs over DBM
what is a good addon to chart OverHealing? or does Weakaura work for that too? Thanks.
Ah, no worries then! I would just stick with Elvui and Healbot
This is the link to my Wago page where you can find my ElvUI profile if you want to try it: wago.io/IiPbCxFCN
Good luck and let me know if there’s anything I can do to help!
I made a UI Part 2 video that goes over ElvUI raid frames and the way that hots show up: ruclips.net/video/6vwRKWMnUO4/видео.html
After watching that, let me know if you're still running into some issues and I can try to help!
@@LayriaYT Thx a lot
@@LayriaYT OMG. i spent like 10h looking for this explaination on the net.. i cant thank you enough. thanks so much
Do you have a profile for Weak Auras?
I want to have the sounds play too T.T
Yes! You can find my Weakauras on Wago here: wago.io/p/Layria_WoW
Do you recommend healbot?
I personally haven’t tried it but if it offers enough customization it might be worth trying out!
I love your ui, and im tweaking to my liking, but i need help with one thing..I cant make the chat window darker..can you help me out
Go into the ElvUI customization window by typin /ec then select the Chat tab on the far left side (fifth one down from the top). When all the customizations for Chat open up, select the Panels tab (it's right next to the one that says General), and there should be a dropdown list towards the bottom called Panel Backdrop. Click on the dropdown list and change it from Hide Both to Left Only.
I hope this helps!
@@LayriaYT when I'm at my desk I'll try that thank you.
@@LayriaYT hahah, so simple..I spent 20 mins clicking and unlocking everything but that. Thanks so much. Love the ui and the video. I subscribed to you channel. Would love to see more resto druid videos from you in the future
Can you do some tutorials?
I made two other UI videos that I hope go over some things you might be looking for! But if there's anything specific that you'd like me create a tutorial on let me know :)
UI Part 2: ruclips.net/video/6vwRKWMnUO4/видео.html
UI Part 3: ruclips.net/video/-UpJWGu7dC0/видео.html
updated ui when?
Do you have a profile to share for your exorsus raid tools?
Yes! I couldn't upload the profile to Wago so it's here on Pastebin instead: pastebin.com/0F0bmjJr
If you don't like the placements of any of the raid cooldown windows you have unlock them and move them around or resize them. I'm also planning on redoing the appearance of them right around when Castle Nathria opens up so I'll post that profile somewhere when it's finished.
Can you please share the weakauras you use that make the sounds
Definitely! I uploaded it to Wago here: wago.io/m252yfLwN
That pack includes cenarion ward (only shows if you're using that talent), ironbark, efflorescence, lifebloom, swiftmend (which I might turn into an icon for clearcast procs), a tiny clearcast bar on the far right side, and a bar when you receive innervate.
If any of the sounds are too loud you can change the sound in Weakauras by going to the Actions tab and changing the sound channel from Master to something else. Then you can adjust the Weakaura sounds in your main WoW sound settings.
@@LayriaYT thanknyou so much.
is that a addon for heal/damage numbers or are those default?
I use an addon called Details to track overall damage and healing--it's amazing and can track so much more information than just damage and healing. Definitely recommend!
@@LayriaYT I didnt mean Details, which I use aswell because its great. I meant the dmg/heal numbers that pop up all around the screen. Are those default or from an addon?
Ah, nope those are just part of the Blizzard UI! You could try Mik’s Scrolling Battle Text if you want to organize the numbers a bit better
@@LayriaYT I didnt like Miks a lot, but for some reason my dmg numbers dont go nearly as high as yours. They are kind of covered up by the nameplates
@@LayriaYT Would you also be so kind and upload your current elvUI profile? The old one is buggy for me and I dislike all others that I can find
hi! got updated profiles? what weakaura profile are you using? can you please give it to me?
Hi! My profile is updated on Wago here: wago.io/p/Layria_WoW
how do you resize the bars and make them into the center?
I use ElvUI which makes it super easy to change your action bars and move them around! You can download the addon through the WoWUp client or by downloading it manually from their website: www.tukui.org/download.php?ui=elvui
@@LayriaYT no no no I don't have the patience to try and do Eluvi again 😂😂😂
@@filipposl3128 you could try the addon Bartender! You can customize your action bars without all the other features that ElvUI comes with!
Is elvui still available? :D I wanna give it a try since it looks so clean but everytime i load the link the button for copy doesn't appear
It is. But everyone is updating today, probaly just wait a little bit.
Elvui is still available! The website was overwhelmed last night (possibly still is?) but if you join their discord one of the mods pinned the updated elvui files in the elvui retail support channel: discord.gg/NWr6X7y
That’s how I updated mine last night!
@@LayriaYT Sorry for not writting properly, was barely awake :D I meant your elvui profile . I managed to download the elvui addon but when i click on the link you have for your elvui profile it loads but withtout the copy string :D
@@andreeastanciu5046 it looks like Wago is also down :(
Hopefully it will be back up soon once everything with prepatch is ironed out!
@@LayriaYT thank you so much for answering!!! ❤
Or, just use HealBot and forget that entire video's addons.
There's a reason for Healbot having 46M downloads
Thanks for the healing addon suggestion! People choose what they like and what works best for them. I’m glad you found one that you enjoy!
Do people make fun of naga users? I dont think i could play without one, lol
Haha, no but people usually make fun of what my keybinds are. I try not to tell people what my interrupt is bound to on my DPS alts (...shift 7), because they picture shift 7 on a keyboard instead :D
I'm the same way though; I could not play without my naga!
@@LayriaYT lol, I get it. I'm the exact same way same way.
why do ppl need addons in wow?
everyone can do anything without addons.
In my opinion , players who need addons or other ui are noobs .
Thank you for checking out the video!
