    I can think of two 한자어 that you didn't include, 차지하다 and 수용하다!
    차지하다 used in this sense means to "hold", "occupy" or "possess" some position or spot. For example: 민주당원들은 300명의 국회의원에서 174개의 자리를 차지하고 있다. Democratic party members hold 174 of the 300 seats of the National Assembly.
    수용하다 can mean "hold" in the sense of "accommodate" like a vehicle or room. For example: 그 비상 대피소는 4,000 명의 사람들을 수용할 수 있다. That emergency shelter can hold 4,000 people.

    What about 메다- to carry over your shoulder or
    업다 - to carry on one’s back
    Then there’s hang, which can be 얹다, 매달리다, or 걸다.

      도와주다 means "to help," and isn't attached onto verbs. You may be thinking of 주다, or 드리다, which can attach onto verbs.

    Billy, what is the difference between ㅆand ㅅ , when it comes to pronunciation?
    I'd love if you could do a video about this

    • @eundongpark1672
      @eundongpark1672 3 года назад +1

      yes! including what's going on inside the mouth and how it differs from English s and sh, cos I'm confused (and yeah, I already understand when to pronounce ㅅ like s-ish and like sh-ish). There seems to be a difference between Korean S and SS pronunciation and English S and SS pronunciation but I can't get it

    • @caiosipriano3173
      @caiosipriano3173 3 года назад

      @@eundongpark1672 I think ㅅ + 이makes a "sh" sound. But I don't know what sound ㅆ + 이 does. It might be a "s" sound, but i guess it's softer than a "s" in english

      I recommend avoiding English translations 1:1 for that reason, since the two verbs have different meanings. Here's an example of how you can find them: ruclips.net/video/xgU63S6TsKM/видео.html

      @@GoBillyKorean Just wanted to be sure since there are a billion verbs in Korean. It occurred to me, would that be "holding" or would it be "steadying" (which given my beginner level knowledge, could be a different verb). Thanks!
