02/04/2020 Middle Island Car Crash With Entrapment/Extrication

Car crash in Middle Island, Tuesday February 4, 2020.
At approx. 11:20 p.m. authorities were notified of a car crash on Miller Place Yaphank Road, between Rocky point Road and Whiskey Road. A driver lost control of their Nissan Rogue, flipping over, and striking a utility pole, trapping a person in the vehicle.
The Middle Island Fire Dept., SCPD 6th Pct., and SCPD ES responded.
First responders had to cut a male victim out of the vehicle using their "Jaws of Life" tool. The victim was in serious condition and transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The utility pole was snapped just above the ground and PSE&G was called to the scene to replace the pole.
Miller Place Yaphank Road was closed in both directions for the duration while crews worked to clear the scene.

I live in middle Island and I go to their fire department they love me there they know me very well and I taught a class for their juniors once
But this is not the worst car accident that I’ve seen
