Yes... leverage. Holding your hands closer to the end of your handles rather than closer to the cutting jaws will help tons.
The birds chirping in the background added to the suspense.
If you're going to use those small cutters (designed for shanks under 1/4") on a standard 1/4" lock, if you first heat the lock shank to cherry red with a propane or mapp gas torch, it will ruin the temper and cut like butter. Keep using them as in the video and the tool will break. : )
Kind of stupid question but, do you need to wait for the bolt to cool down again? Idk if the heat could damage the bolt cutters
@@isaackalashnikov3681 Not a stupid question at all. It takes time for heat to transfer from the heated metal to the cutter jaws, so nipping it quickly after heating isn't a big deal. This is why factories that shear glowing hot metal do it in one quick stroke...less heat transfer.
@@Robnord1 thanks man, i appreciate it
Great tip!
@@isaackalashnikov3681 There are no stupid questions. If you dont know ask.
Dude did not eat wheaties ever
Neil Spadanuta allergic to wheaties use yo
Give this guy his medal! 😂
THANK YOU .... WATCHING HOW YOU DID IT....SAVED ME $ 110 FOR A locksmith... I did it myself for $ 14
That’s me struggling in life.
lmao
Lol..such is life l guess
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍🏻
If only criminals used such crap bolt cutters.
LOL! They did the job I needed.
Yes.... Mine are much better
Yeah and if they do it in front of security camera, they can win a prize! A free ride in a police car! Wouldn't that be fun?
All you have to be today to be "a criminal" is to have supported our president.
It looks like the "tolerant" party is the only ones locking folks out. Perhaps bolts cutters in your go bag aren't a bad idea. Who knows when they decide to come for You!
@@CeilingFanVideosOnYT what if theyre wearing a mask?
with the short handles you need to git some pipe that will go over the handles to extend yours so you will have the leverage to cut if you have a welder or you know someone that has one id weld them on and if you want to be fiance you can dip the ends in rubber so you will have rubber handles.
Fantastic. Same has happened just today with my combination lock at the allotment. Opened fine, locked it, won't open again. Weird. Looking forward to cutting it open next time I'm down there.
Should the bolt cutter blades be curved a little? I bought cutters on a second hand shop and wondered if they are bended or natural...
It's been used and probably caused the bend from use
That was a good video demonstration I reckon you should of used a bigger pair of bolt cutters like a 24 inch you would of cut the lock with a lot more ease a 14 inch is very difficult and it can break the bolt cutters
The “lock picking lawyer” here on RUclips, wouldn’t have been impressed if he saw your struggle with the bolt cutter.
*Or any defense attorney for that matter*
Your video helped a lot !! thx 💕
cut the brass body .....and not the hardend part........
Good perseverance when using a smaller bolt cutter than was needed. Especially when that is all whats available. Did the job in the end right. .
Thanks bro thought it was gonna take a trick or something harder to break it thank you and sorry for ur lock have a good one boss man
Could undo bolts holding the latch to the tubing and remove latch from the gate. Would still have to be cut off but one could open the gate. Lock could then be cut off more easily.
If 2020 were bolt cutters!
Should have use the 24 inch cutter.
You are supposed to adjust the bolt on the side it brings the handles closer so you don’t have such a wide handle seperation
I have one, but did not know about this. Thanks.
Thank you. Now gotta go to Walmart for a bolt cutter.
I was hoping he opened the gate and showed what's he had been hiding there for 30 years.
Bodies.
I agree with Aria, probably bodies;)
😂😂😂
There are probably people right now being held captive and tortured. There is darkness in this world.
😂😂😂
Tip for future mate. If the body of the lock is brass like that. Use the cutters on the body not the shackle. The body will cut easy and not damage the jaws of the bolt cutters. The Shackle is made of hardened steel so is the same as the steel of the bolt cutters and causes damage to the cutting edge
He said he had that lock for over 25 years. I thought brass locks were for indoor use, and they couldn't hold up to corrosion. Did I get bogus info or was this particular lock exceptional?
chrismetallica1 Great tip, helped me just now. Didn’t even need to watch the video. Thanks mate.
@@addicted2baseballrgd21 Brass padlocks can last outside. Any padlock will last if you spray wd40 inside it occasionally
Well done..
need this to cross the borders
that had rain damage rusted 🤣🤣
sound like sum back shots on a bed shaky 🤣🤣🤣
That was a horrible display of strength lmao
Jesus, watching this video made me release how futile locks actually are if a burglar knows how to use a bolt cutter correctly.
Should have used a 48”. Or just get a hydraulic rebar cutter. A lot cheaper than a 48” and puts out 24,000lbs of force due to its built in hydraulic jack.
Not as easy it looks on TV! Unless he was not applying pressure the best way..Anyway to sharpen those? I asked Harbor Freight & they said no...I heard them say that about a lot of things though & found out it's not true!
The lock he had bought is the same lock that I got stuck on my shed
Very easy to pick open
Can’t pick open when you broke your key in the lock
What drama!
New bolt cutters? They don’t look new.
Then he finds the key in his pocket
I thought you were going to get some bolt cutters? I got the cutters you need 1950's H.K.Porter #3 bolt cutters. 36 inches of beast made where my dad worked as a machinist!
The bigger ones cut better then the small ones.
Click out of one.... and we're done. As you can see, this is a inexcusable design flaw in the lock that can easily be bypassed by quenching and making it have a thicker body. If you have any more suggestions or comments, put them below and if you would like to see more like this, please subscribe and have a nice day. Thank you.
I hate when Planet Fitness cuts locks off lockers because you're not supposed to leave them on overnight when they're closed.
Using 5 kg hammer and banging it is way better than this expensive tool. 🤣
That’s some lock! If you had trouble cutting it off, anyone else would, too!
I couldn't get the right leverage at first but after using my front deck handrail, it cut right through it.
bro is struggling.
Well that was frustrating..
He really doesn't how to use them properly 😂
Found my spare key while watching this🎉
What kind of bolt cutters do you have
Some generic brand I found on ebay..
24" bolt cutters are adequate for most padlocks.
@Anderson Cooper just the name
Use hammer or lift fence out of the ground next time. 😂
What size are the bolt cutters
14"
Attach a bell to or near your lock easy
Did many times. while working with the u s army !!
I think I would have just taken that color off of the gate that's holding on the forkand then cut the lock it would have been much easier
A criminal wouldn't bother cutting the lock... the gate is made of wire mesh ffs.
dude needs to eat a can of spinach like Popey!
And who says bigger is not better. It's the size of your tool my man, you need the bigger one. Better luck next time.
just extend the arms with 2 metal pipes and your good to go...
i have the 18 inch ones
lol Resident Evil 7
Lol
Fun to see some boltcutters in action. I have some but haven't used them yet.
I didn't have any and bout this one for under $12 dollars on ebay and they did the job.
I test them on my mums cooking pans and then she cries lol
RVR2 Rent 36”bolt cutter from Home Depot for $9.
Great job failing to cut the lock bro... Immediately eaten by zombies...
You can break a padlock open with two wrenches in a matter of seconds much easier than using bolt cutters
I woulda cut the fence instead
Was this a comedy sketch ?
Need a bigger cutter like 24-36 inches.
Nah he needs 4.5 foot bolt cutters.
Honey I found the key to your lock.
too small
pirce
Two wrench method works better
Should have used his 45acp
People here either cause youtube recommendation or just lose their key
I lost my key, unfortunately. Wish there was an easy solution. This looks like it wouldn't work, 'specially because I'm not strong.
I could’ve cut that lock easily I’ve got a 42 inch bolt cutter
Get a combination lock so no key is require. If you use a bolt cutter use a Rigid bolt cutter with 24 inch and will cut that lock 🔒 like butter. Use quality tool from USA 🇺🇸 not cheap China crap.
gett some from the hardwere not cheap shop
Use two wrenches instead or two paper clips those methods work a lot easier with two wrenches you can break the lock open in a matter of seconds bolt cutters aren’t really made for padlocks.
You almost snapped your god damn finger off. Your hand should not be so far up on the tool. Shit
That was a big struggle to cut that.
Any other tips if someone wanna be a criminal?
Let's say (I'm not going to but), what if I had 10 seconds to get a bike lock off someone's bike. Which ones you recommend (hypothetically)?
Go get two pieces of steel pipe
نرینی
Sad…
Cheap bolt cheap lock too long
That gave me almost zero information about what I should do. Thanks
It's a bolt cutter.. What are you looking for, and encyclopedia??
@@rvr2 No, just any information WHATSOEVER about how to adjust it to make it stronger. Angle. Torque. Techniques. I guess it's not a "how to" video though. My bad.
Again it's just a bolt cutter... There is no adjustments to make.. You have to find your own torque by adjusting your angle. It's all just trial & error, nothing more.
@@williemyself well if you looking for a how-to not much really to it
What I do is find something to leverage it on and something that won't move if you put force on it
Do you need to watch a tutorial about how to stick a bolt cutter as far as it will go on the lock and squeeze? It's not rocket science.
A lot of criminals in this comment section.
I'm stealing this
@@oingpla Want a free ride in a police car? Use bolt cutter on someone else's lock to steal things!
