Adam is a fabulous boy. You can just see how happy he is with the activities and the exercise and it really is great to see. Such a shame that his parents didn't really encourage him in any way, just as I find it a shame and such a waste of a childhood when parents don't encourage any creativity or freedom in their children, or just want them to work, study etc. I'm not a sporty/exercising person myself, however I would never discourage my child from doing something that they enjoy, especially if it helps them be healthier or happier, or more creative.

The look on her face like she'd won by dissuading her son to do healthy things he enjoyed. Parents that do that don't deserve wonderful children like him. I hope he kept on fighting them!
This is really good to hear! We were just about to look him up on Facebook too. So sad that his parents were hell bent on getting him to focus on the negatives and turn down such exciting adventures. I can't believe the dad was only 42!

I couldn't imagine discouraging my children like Adams parents do to him, I'm not that into sport and hiking etc but I always encourage my kids to be. Would love to know how Adam is today, he'd be a young adult by now.
Be careful...children don't typically do what you say, they do what they see you do. If they see you not exercising then they'll always see it as a chore rather than "the way of life"
@@weepingangel6805 lol, I didn't say I didn't sat I my arse all day and was overweight, I'm just not into certain activities as an adult, maybe what I should've said was I don't talk my kids out of things just because I'd hate it, I encourage them to try everything,
Oh come on. He's a happy boy who lives joyfully likes to try new things. Should he eat less and exercise more? Yeah, but get off your high horse - all in all those people are raising a positive, happy, adventurous kid who can fall and pick himself up. He was the brightest light on the show, and whether or not you like it, his good attitude and can-do spirit are things his parents instilled in him. Much like you, me, and the rest of humanity, they aren't perfect - that doesn't mean they aren't good. You take one aspect of that charming boy's life and used it to reduce him and his parents to one negative dimension, and that, my friend, is far more fucked up than raising a fat child. That kid seems like a delight to be around. You seem like a intolerant, fat-shaming crank, who probably got one hell of a judgement-boner from publicizing your "heartbreak." Even the fit mother didn't reduce the family down like that - she said, quite reasonably, that it would be best if he lost some weight so he might be healthier and better able to enjoy the outdoors. She didn't wring her hands and announce to the world his parents' awful neglect made her weep. In other words, fit mom and her family had a sense of decency and proportion that your sanctimonious ass sadly lacks.
I have done both holidays,( Vegas and Yosemite). Yosemite wins for me every time, ( though hiking at the Grand Canyon was fantastic on the Vegas trip).
The Lawsons are insufferable! They are so whiny and sulky. I do think the others are a bit hearty, but the Lawsons at least need to get off their bums and make an effort.
Jeezo! 10 miles in 2 days is nothing! Silly parents in the first family are just lazy asses! Little Adam though, bless his heart. Wanting to join in everything, what a super trooper.
i'll be honest, if we are just judging on what is "better", then chocolate and gambling probably wins. Losing your cash and getting fat is worse, but chocolate and gambling walks all over the gym and eating healthy.
So stupid how the fat mom is worried about her sons safety biking but she's bringing him up as a walking heart attack waiting to happen. I doubt she realises but its sad to see. I hope the little fella was able to follow a different path to his parents as he grew up..he's a great kid...so much enthusiasm

Omg, I want that climbing wall!
I couldn't imagine discouraging my children like Adams parents do to him, I'm not that into sport and hiking etc but I always encourage my kids to be. Would love to know how Adam is today, he'd be a young adult by now.
He's doing alright, he's a filmmaker now!
Be careful...children don't typically do what you say, they do what they see you do. If they see you not exercising then they'll always see it as a chore rather than "the way of life"
@@weepingangel6805 lol, I didn't say I didn't sat I my arse all day and was overweight, I'm just not into certain activities as an adult, maybe what I should've said was I don't talk my kids out of things just because I'd hate it, I encourage them to try everything,
@@MelusineWinter that's amazing news, does he have a YT account or did u read it about him?
He was such a great wee guy.
Wonder what that Adam kid is up to these days, hope he managed to break free from his parents a little bit.
The classic flame shirt 😆
Thought she said they were fit. 😂 😂
What a beautiful place ❤️
watching that kid go round that shop getting all that free chocolate broke my heart :( any good parent wouldn't let that happen
It broke my heart I wanted to be there
You seem like a intolerant, fat-shaming crank, who probably got one hell of a judgement-boner from publicizing your "heartbreak."
Even the fit mother didn't reduce the family down like that - she said, quite reasonably, that it would be best if he lost some weight so he might be healthier and better able to enjoy the outdoors. She didn't wring her hands and announce to the world his parents' awful neglect made her weep.
In other words, fit mom and her family had a sense of decency and proportion that your sanctimonious ass sadly lacks.
V OGW ok, you need to calm down.
They do not deserve Adam - what a great kid!!!
I have done both holidays,( Vegas and Yosemite). Yosemite wins for me every time, ( though hiking at the Grand Canyon was fantastic on the Vegas trip).
You actually went hiking in Las Vegas? Ok I'm being small minded now, I'm being a rose lol
Adams was held back by his parents for sure , he clearly didn't want to follow is parents ways and wanted to join in with everything .
The Lawsons are insufferable! They are so whiny and sulky. I do think the others are a bit hearty, but the Lawsons at least need to get off their bums and make an effort.
these families are a much better group than borneo/ cornwall. i thought they coped well. adam was excellent...
Jeezo! 10 miles in 2 days is nothing! Silly parents in the first family are just lazy asses! Little Adam though, bless his heart. Wanting to join in everything, what a super trooper.
"Gambling and chocolate, what else is better?" Ehhhh going to the gym & eating healthy...
i'll be honest, if we are just judging on what is "better", then chocolate and gambling probably wins. Losing your cash and getting fat is worse, but chocolate and gambling walks all over the gym and eating healthy.
We love you Adam. ❤️
So stupid how the fat mom is worried about her sons safety biking but she's bringing him up as a walking heart attack waiting to happen. I doubt she realises but its sad to see. I hope the little fella was able to follow a different path to his parents as he grew up..he's a great kid...so much enthusiasm
He is now a film maker and director living in Toronto 😊
they are holding Adam back
"I've done it, I've done the 10 miles"... :D
Proud of him lol
10 miles in 2 days is nothing, I walk up to 7km a day at my work.
NO HAPPY MEDIUM UNFORTUNATELY BETWEEN 2 FAMILIES. BOTH ON EXTREME OPPOSITE SIDES
Such a lovely boy Adam think the parents are a negative impact on him though.....
Adam was amazing! Go Adam!
Adam is a great boy , he’s mum was putting a stop or trying to for a lot of things and that isent good
"On the, when we get home, right, I want to go to New Jumbo and get a take away. I want a nice Chinese when we get home, that's what I'm looking forward to."
I’d love to see how Adam is now
Rose sounds like Sandi Toksvig and Andy like Reg Holdsworth off Corrie!!!!
Sick of listening to her she's so irritating
She’s not as bad as the two fat slobs.
I wonder where adam is today
Yeah I often wonder at the 'where are they now' when these programs are available so long after the event I mean he will be nearly 25 now, I wonder if he has ever watched himself?
He is now a film maker and director living in Toronto 👍
That bloody woman that looks like a boy is a snooty pain in the ass xxxx
Surely, surely the other episodes are somewhere?
I’ve been speaking to Adam on fb, really friendly guy.
Adam stole the show!
His mom though didn't prove what she thought she did.
