Really looking forward for your season 2! I really enjoyed watching all your vids from last year.
I haven’t installed one of those heaters before, but if you haven’t figured out what that glass thing with a bit of wire through it is, it’s an electrical fuse. It’s a fail safe just incase something happens to the wires/electronics, the fuse will burn out before anything else(I guess it’s a spare). This is only a thought, but if you find that your heater is starving for fuel you might have to undo the little breather on the jerry can when you have it running. I just thought about it when you said it was air tight. I did the same thing when I was out in a boat. 🤣 But it looks good and hope it keeps the van toasty warm on those cold days.

Ah cheer! So glad you liked our previous videos. We cant wait to get back on the road and do it all over again. This season going to be very busy as we also doing a lot of Photo Shoots. So going to be fun getting some more behind the scenes of these shoots into our videos.
🤣 yeh learnt all about fuses and electricity after building this. I was building whilst learning and watching RUclips tutorials as i went 🤣
Actually have figured some more stuff out with this set up so going to make a quick video in a few days about it to help share with people. Now it is working like a charm. I tested it today. 4 degrees outside and after 10 mins i got it to 17 degrees inside and barely drawing any electricity. fingers crossed it works well once in the mountains and dumping snow outside..
Cheers for the tip on the fuel line. Yeh completely new with this kind of thing so any info definitely helps...

Super valid concern about the wheel wells, I don't think it would be an issue running it all the way to the back, I've seen some other youtube van life guys doing the same. That is by far the coolest jerry can Ive ever seen. I wonder how much it would be to ship one of those back home to Canada while Im over there haha

Yeh I’ve heard mixed things about creating to long of an exhaust and people getting problems with build up or something like that?
Need to run down on a slight angle and try and avoid kinks.
I think I will order one and try it out as not too expensive.
Also running mine on kerosene as cheap here and easy to buy. Maybe that runs cleaner than diesel with less soot buildup or?
😂 you don’t have these style Jerry cans in Canada? 3L seems small but actually I think that will last for a few nights maybe even more

Thanks for sharing, interested to see how the heater performs for you mid winter. That exhaust pipe getting clogged with snow or dirt would def be my concern too!
Love the channel! Keep up the great work 👍

      Cheers for the comment 🤙
Yep i watched so many install videos but not one covered that issue?
I mean definitely here in Japan that would be a concern. It snows that much here and that’s always my biggest problem is fighting the snow and ice under the van.
A lot of the roads here have water spraying for them to keep the snow from settling but the problem is when your driving it all builds up slush and then freezes underneath.
I think I will spray the exhaust black with a special heat resistant/anti rust spray to prevent it getting mucked up by the salt on the roads.
And then tempted to remove the muffler and point the exhaust more to the side?
But for me it’s the snow and ice build up that inside to knock off everyday that’s why I didn’t run the fuel line and fuel pump under the van either.
But i will have my tool box with my during my trip so will see what works best when I’m on the road. It’s always the case about modifying whilst in the van.
