ur tutorials are awesome, also love the use of red storm for the intro, orchestral music is always a banger with space environments

Thank you, glad you’ve enjoyed the tutorials! I really do miss the Redout 1 soundtrack- it added so much extra character to the environments that Redout 2 just doesn’t have with its very homogeneous psytrance.

🤯ESA LIED TO US!!! Also, they compete in this sport too. I wonder, could it have been out jealousy?

LIES I tell you! Thanks for watching the intro and not just skipping straight to the lap!

From where did you get the intro?
Also, thx a lot for your tips!

I made the intro from scratch! I used footage from the game’s campaign intro to Origin, recorded the voice lines and did lots of audio processing of them through Audacity, then put in the orchestra recording of the Redout OST from the 34BigThings channel and finally found a Metroid Prime typefont to recreate the warning message. Thanks for watching!

VEry nice run. And very nice tutorial. This was much needed when I started playing, I looked for something like this but there was none.

Thank you! It did take me a few months to get my Redout 2 tutorial series going- I was sort of surprised nobody else had tacked the project earlier. Hope they’re not too late to help your driving out.

@@S2riker yeah not too late as my skills aren't on par with the top players at all.
You know what is also really important and could be the part 4 of the series?
Anything related to Controller setup like: choice of controller (xbox, wheel or even switchmote), layout type (classic RO or Fzero legacy), dead zone input, stick sensitivity and the RO2 AI driving presets. These things massively change the experience. I used to suck for months until I figure out how to adjust these settings (actually im not sure I:m through yet).

@cedb3360 That could be a good topic, thanks! It also wouldn’t require me to grind for another time trial when we know the leaderboards will inevitably be reset.

I appreciate the depth of the new mechanics in 2 (just found out about the sequel) and that you went into all the details of even cancelling a turbo boost. I'll need to remember that instead of just assuming I'm hitting a wall out of it.
side note: I wish they separated health and heat capacity as stats

Thanks for the kind words, glad you’re enjoying the game! About the health/heat, that’s a good point; right now they’re indiscriminately lumped into the “durability” stat.

I really tried to hang in there for ro2. But it’s rough. Cockpit view removed, bumper cam sits too high you can never see where you’re flying aerial. Odd cockeyed aerial parts on tracks where your car just is totally unpredictable, way worse music, and OH MAN the cam rewind mechanism and all the blind hairpin corners with no signage or railings…. I just want to reset on track not go flying into orbit for thirty seconds, or fiddle with some tony hawk rewind mechanism WHILE THE CLOCK KEEPS GOING LOL. Where’s my track times? I bought it for a friend and we can’t even compare track times. Played 20 hours and the track grind just got repetitive and I’m going back to ro1

Oh I hear you completely! Redout 2 has grown on me a bit and is a nice change of pace, but overall, Redout 1 is the infinitely-superior game in all aspects.
