At one time I was told small hens on nest were used as salt cellars. I have a collection of salt cellars, and wondered if there any new books out about their value.

I have never heard that, but it seems possible. I do not know of any new books out about Hens. There may be some out there, however.

I don't know of any price guide. Google lens and Ebay solds are good references. They'll give pretty accurate examples..

Thank you for your information. I had no idea there were so many different kinds of hens own nest. I will purposely be looking my next time out. Hopefully I will get lucky.

I have a med. Small milk glass hen on nest. I thought it had a chip but actually it states it has a factory defect and it's smooth as the rest of the sides ,not chip feeling. Its milk glass. Would that defect take away from its value?

Hello! Sorry for the delay. Yeah, sadly, glass people are pretty picky about condition. Any defect hinders the value. The more rare pieces will be exempted, but there is still some decline.

Those are definitely rare. I've never had one as far as I know. Also, I would not be able to offer a time frame or a value. I wish I could help more, but the scarcity is probably in your favor!

I have a white rooster on a nest with a red cone. It has a WG on the inside of the lid, and on the bottom. How much is that worth?

I wish I could tell you that it was worth a lot, but I think it may have more sentimental value than monetary. I may be wrong, however!
