These reviews are SO helpful to someone like me, who has a rising 8th grader and is already thinking and planning for high school. THANK YOU for taking the time to share your experience with these curricula.
I'd love a more in depth for the Excellence in Lit course with a flip through, weekly schedule, even a tour of any online components etc. I've never heard of this resource, and it looks so good.
Great video!!! I'm super curious to know what you're thinking about for your son's literature and writing courses for next year. Can't wait for that video!
I always love these sorts of reviews! I have never looked into excellence in literature, and I am checking through their site, and I don’t think that they are Christian-based. Is that correct? I am trying to decide if I would love to use the British literature for this coming fall. I now prefer to stick with Christian-based things, if I can, and we are also using some Memoria Press this coming fall.
I would check out this blog post by the EIL author. She explains in it that she writes from a Christian worldview but with a literary approach. Her post gives a much more thorough explanation and may help you with deciding if it would work for you doingwhatmatters.com/excellence-in-literature-worldview/
I really need to use Wordly Wise (I started to write Worldly) for my grandson. He will be a Junior, but weak in vocab. Would you recommend starting with 9, rather than 11?
Possible 9 or 10. The word lists do continue to get more difficult as they move up levels. He may have more success starting with those early levels and then working his way up.

I’ll make a note to include that in a lesson prep video when she starts the next module
Wow! Your 11th grader is doing a massive literature class. In my AP class we read 4 books and one was Beowulf.
It is very heavy on reading which is why I don’t feel she is missing out by skipping the honors books from time to time.
The detail and clarity in your videos ❤ I wish you had been my teacher! 😂
Thank you so much for doing these videos. It's so helpful to hear so much detail about what you liked/didn't like and why.

This was helpful. Thank you!
Faust and paradise lost in 4 weeks?! OMG that’s wild!
Right?!? I’m a fast reader, but even I would’ve had trouble getting both done in four weeks.
Especially if you want to fall in love with and appreciate them!
